Hello!!

I was recently introduced to Lenormand and I was contemplative about the deck. I have been seeing Lenormand decks and some have the ♠️♥️♣️♦️ symbols/mini cards, so I was wondering if I could illustrate Lenormand symbolism over a poker deck to make a Lenormand one, or is not how this works?

Thank you!

  • Offcourse u can! I use one like that. You have to separate de A, 6, 7,8,9,10, j, q, k … lenormand do not use 2,3,4 And 5 you will Need to write on the card the number 1 to 36 and the símbols - sun, moon, letter etc …. With a guide u will manage to do.

Great, I appreciate the advice and photo for reference! I'll do more research and try to make mine. Obrigada 🤭☺️

  • My first deck was poker cards that I laminated (with 3" tape) the card name, number and silhouette onto. It's still one of my favorite decks.

Also it's a common practice for people to put titles and keywords on playing cards before deciding if Lenormand is a system they really want to invest the time and energy of learning.

I'll definitely be researching and learning more about the system before continuing or deciding on the deck! Thanks for the advice❤️

  • Yes you can as other user said you take off 2 to 5. I started a collage deck with regular playing cards and only keep one of the 4 corners to show the value for ex. 1 clover and paste paper and cutout images on the rest of the card. I saw someone (here on Reddit I think) draw with Posca above the original printed pictures.

Excellent 🥰 I'll look up for ideas after I learn more, thank you!!

  • You definitely can do that! One deck that I’ve bought that foes a similar idea is called the Palimpsest Lenormand!

Nice, thank you!! I'll check it out 🥰❤️

  • Yes!

One trick I use if I don’t have a deck with me or I want to be discreetish is to jus grab a regular pack of playing cards, pull out the unnecessary ones, and use those. I have a document on my phone so I can translate into lenormand. I don’t have the pips/cards memorized yet but I’m getting there.

That's cool! Can I ask where did you find your information to start learning? ☺️

I started with the Labyrinthos app and Caitlin Matthews’s book, but I’ve been creating a Google document cheat sheet for card numbers and pips!

Ohh I know that app for tarot, great to know that it can help for Lenormand too, I'll try it out. Thank you!!
