Whip and lily together in this context basically means they are going to be having a lot of sex, right? And key means the message is the thing that “unlocks” that or ushers it in? Grateful for any other interpretations!
I kind of wonder if the response from the text is actually a lot more placid or zen? Like after this "sexy unlocking" there is a kind of step back to something a bit slower moving, more zen and long term? We go from "hey I want sex that doesn't have to mean much" to "hey that sex felt like we may actually have feelings of love here".

The guy she texted is actually a long-time friend of hers who she had a thing with in the past - she told him about an encounter she had had with another man (which is a normal thing to do since they are “just friends”) and the followed it up by saying “part of me wished it could have been you 🫢” which could well prompt a move from a sexy unlocking to a more placid and mature relationship.

With the key in the middle, right off the bat, I'd say that her text unlocked/unblocked something. As if her text opened a previously closed door to a room full of new possibilities. I'm also thinking it points to sex, several encounters even, since the whip is a card of repetition. However, the lily at the end speaks of a transformation of the relationship/connection towards something more mature, calmer, keeping the sexual component, but opening the door to some feelings, some stabilization. I wouldn't rush to say it points to love, but more of friends with benefits type of thing. As if it could become recurrent.
