Hey everyone,
We’re the team behind Lenovo Legion and we’re here to talk all things Legion Go Gen 2. The device launched last week and some of you have already started sharing unboxings and first impressions (we see you 👀 ). It’s been awesome to watch the early feedback roll in so we decided to do an AMA!
We’ll be hanging out in this thread for the rest of September answering your questions directly. Want to know more about performance, features, mods, accessories, availability, or what’s next for the Legion Go? Ask away.
Whether you already have your device or you’re just curious about what makes the Go Gen 2 different, this is your chance to get answers straight from the people who built it.
Let’s do this. 🔥
— The Lenovo Legion Team
Edit (September 17th, 2025): Thank you to everyone for submitting your questions. We really appreciate all the enthusiasm around the Legion Go Gen 2. As many of you have noticed, we’ve been missing in action since we started this thread because we had to get our stuff together behind the scenes. It is our mistake for not looping in the right people in the first place to answer all your questions hence why we temporarily left this thread idle. We promise your questions will get answered by the right people from now on as we get ready to resume the AMA.
We know that many of you have been asking about product delays so we owe you an explanation. The truth is pre-orders for the Legion Go Gen 2 has substantially exceeded our projections, leading to unforeseen delivery range extensions. We are working diligently with our teams worldwide to fill these orders as quickly as possible. We truly appreciate the overwhelming support of Legion fans, and ask for your patience while we work to get the Legion Go Gen 2 into your waiting hands.
The Reddit community means a lot to us and we value your input so much. We try our best to take in your feedback and implement them to our products. We messed up this time but we promise we’ll move forward with a lot more caution and care because that’s what you, our awesome community, deserves. We’ll resume the AMA shortly. Stay tuned!
Edit (September 19th, 2025):We wanted to share an update after connecting with our Lenovo retail colleagues around the world. The good news is that more units are already on their way to major retailers globally, so you can expect to see availability in retail outlets and websites improving in the coming weeks.
That said, we will need to cancel some pre-orders placed directly on Lenovo.com. We don’t believe in holding onto customer payments for products we can’t ship in a timely manner. As soon as our online inventory is replenished, Lenovo.com will show updated availability and ordering will reopen.
We know this is frustrating, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience it caused, especially for our most passionate fans. The Legion Go Gen 2 was built with you in mind, and this experience has been an important lesson for us. We'll use this to improve and ensure a better process moving forward.
Thread added to highlights.
Is Lenovo going to be focused on Software updates moving forward? As an early adopter of the Legion Go I’ve noticed your companies track record of updates and support for your hardware has been extremely concerning.
Lol why are all the top comments ignored by them. The only thing this AMA did was convince me to not pre-order.
Ya, the radio silence was another issue with the original legion go once “Ben” stopped making weekly updates.
At this point for the price they’re asking for the legion go 2 I might just wait to see if steam releases a new handheld in the next year or 2.
That's all I'm waiting for, Steam Deck 2. I've seen lots of cool options, but what's expected for the next Steam Deck is going to blow everyone else away. I can be patient, my laptop will have to do for now.
More like...
Ask me Anything(that will make sales go up and the product look good or I will ignore your question).
I purchased a Legion Go at launch, coming from a ROG Ally, and I feel that the product was abandoned due to the lack of consistent updates. While ASUS demonstrates proactive support and welcomes its community with constant improvements, Lenovo seems to be lagging behind. With the arrival of a new major Windows update, my concern is that this lag will increase. So the question is: what is the company's strategy to align software support with that of competitors and strengthen the appeal of Legion Go, given that price competition is not the only factor in winning and keeping users?
Thank you u/ZKCNo for sharing your experience and your honest concerns. We understand that consistent software and firmware updates are just as important as hardware innovation, and we recognize that this is an area where we can do better.
Moving forward, our strategy is to place stronger emphasis on software support as a core part of the Legion Go experience. We are committed not only to providing improvements for the new Legion Go Gen 2, but also to continuing updates for Legion Go Gen 1 and Legion Go S.
Our goal is to ensure that Legion users feel supported long after launch, and we will work more closely with our community to make software support a clear strength of the Legion brand.
I think the lack of response is your answer
Same early adopter lack of gyro and software updates ended up having to run Bazzite dual boot. I purchased it because of the detachable controllers and a big manufacturer, but I would have been better off with a competitor device with no custom drivers with detachable controllers. Given I love the device and use it daily after switching the OS, but doesn't mean I cannot provide feedback. The lack of support, no clear support roadmap, and not following through on initial device promises. I can't recommend the device until some form of assurance on support. I tend to early adopts to vote with the money for the form factor for next iteration, but support was pretty bad. Luckily great community of open source software to make it functional as a pick up and go device. I would be hesitant for the new device until a concrete software roadmap provided to assure consumers. I understand community managers and marketing team are probably gated from certain topics to talk about as they feed the data to actual decision makers. At the end of the day they're doing what they can, just sucks what they're limited on. The thing that makes steam deck shine is that on going support afterwards that still makes the product viable for it's use case even under powered to the latest hand held releases. Hell if support is and the product is good and can still sell with dated hardware, does seems like a good business decision that can years later be the entry device for the new suite of product and still generate revenue.
Hey u/Rinswind1985, updates and support are a big focus for us moving forward. It’s not just about Gen 2,we’ll also keep improving Gen 1 and Go S through software and firmware updates. Your feedback is super valuable, so please keep sharing as it helps us make Legion better for everyone!
Heya, i got three questions for now
Why did you Guys decide against the AI Variant of the Z2 Extreme Chip ? To Not make the prices even Higher?
In the Testing Lifestreams there seemes to be a Problem that Games we're running poorly because the Auto select function for the RAM took way to little RAM. Will that be fixed ?
My Order (Germany got delayed from the 22-23.09 to the 08-10.10 will there be any more delays or can i count with my device ?
Edit: Well now its delayed to the 26.11! WTH Lenovo?! Thats 3 months further away Them promised?
Why shipments are delayed in Europe?
Will graphic drivers be released by Amd or Lenovo?
If I may add to your most intelligent questions, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??? CAN ANYONE AT LENOVO CONFIRM WHEN ARE YOUR PRODUCTS ??? DELAYS??? IM NOT SORRY OF ALL CAPS IM ABOUT TO CANCEL MY ORDER BRUH.
january - announced and present - nothin nothin nothin nothin - present product open some pre order for 5-6 days take cash - delays for 2 months - nothin nothin nothin for the rest of the world where no pre order, no price or availability or launch is known.
lenovo -
Ask Me Anything - except shipping
They did not answer any top voted question.
They thought people would ask only marketing safe questions lmao
Ask Me Anything - that you already know form the past 9 months exept shipping, pre order delays and availability.
When and where will I be able to order it in Canada?
Canada will for sure have access to the device. Working on getting things posted/online but it will have the same embargo as the US (Oct. 31). Different retailers and partners in different regions have different strategies/abilities/desires to support various configurations (or lack thereof) of preorders. Nigh impossible to have every retailer we plan to sell the product at have it available for preorder at the same time across the board.
Thanks Ben, I was hoping I could order it direct through Lenovo’s website as I did my desktop/laptops, but will wait and see! Cheers
Yes, working with Lenovo.ca and BestBuy.ca teams on Canada offering.
Please address the shipping delays, an official statement is warranted considering we ordered with lenovo stating 6-9 days (in UK) and other tineframes outside this region.
Those are NOT the question we are looking for - Lenovo
How can you accept our money with a 6-9 days to shipping and then change the date for 6 weeks away? Do you consider your customers as bank who lend money ?
Lol
u/Lenovo offices rn
What is the official US release date?
North America (US/Canada) release date is currently 10/31.
Is there a reason North America is held back compared to countries where it is already shipping in some cases? It was posted that Best Buy already has stock in their warehouse so outside of a global launch, which isn't happening, how was that date decided on? Thanks for your time!
I know a lot of this is tough to understand without context, and I wish I was able to provide more, but here is as much as I can say about your questions:
Yes.
They absolutely do not, and I am 100% sure of that. There is another post out there referencing dynamics between BBY/Lenovo that are also wildly inaccurate.
I know given where this response is coming from you will be skeptical (which is fair) but the truth is it is genuinely to ensure the best possible customer experience. One of several reasons is there were a few people who didn't get their Go S preorders at the date promised and we didn't want to repeat history there. We also can't ship what we don't have.
I appreciate the response! It does help a bit to know my Best Buy preorder isn't just sitting there arbitrarily being held back. Is the October 31 date pretty much locked in or is it possible that if enough shipments arrive sooner the date could be moved up? Thanks again for your time. I know it's rough dealing with everyone's questions right now.
Meanwhile in Canada...
Surprising that this isn't the #1 upvoted question. Specifically, when will Best Buy (the only US launch partner) have them?
And why is the US release date so much later than other regions? We see unboxings from Britain, but then US is supposedly 10/31?
Is it because of tariffs?
I would love to know why our orders keep getting pushed back
u/Lenovo u/Lenovo_Legion
Notice how they are answering everything else expect questions about the delay
Incredibly tone-deaf thread considering it was basically a paper launch.
Lenovo team sending their team to the Redditors:
Will you make legion go add ons like a keyboard-case?
Edited (Sept 18): Thank you for the suggestion. At this time, Legion Go Gen 2 does not have an official keyboard-case accessory. We do, however, offer a growing range of accessories, including controllers, adaptors, joystick caps, headphones, power banks, and Legion Glasses 2, all designed to enhance the Legion handheld experience.
We truly appreciate ideas like this and welcome the community’s input. We’ll consolidate this feedback and share it with our internal team, as suggestions like yours help guide our future accessory development.
Lenovo Legion team: Says ask us questions, We ask questions, They don't answer the question's.
💀
Guys here if you wanna follow all their answers
https://www.reddit.com/user/Lenovo_Legion/comments/
My main question is about driver support, is it possible to download them from AMD website and install that way or we have to wait for Lenovo to release drivers every time?
[deleted]
So when will AMD release a APU driver that supports this. The 25.9.1 ones explicitly block
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_150E&SUBSYS_381C17AA&REV_C5
Which is;
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_150E&SUBSYS_381C17AA&REV_C5
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Radeon 890M
Thanks!
Followup question. Do you have a licensed therapist on-call to discuss the inevitable trauma you receive during this AMA?
u/Lenovo_Legion Dev team rn:
All 2 of them?
It’s a pity that you have an amazing product and instead of talk about it, we are talking about the lack of information of shipments in Europe. Please, talk with whoever is in charge of them and give us a solution
Why is the ‘team’ nowhere to be found when people have tech support issues but you’re suddenly here to answer questions, likely due to the backlash of the price of your new device?
Why is shipping so long no one wants a hold on their credit card for a month plus
Why is it double the price of the original model?
As a Legion Go owner I'm intrigued by the possibility of using the Legion Go 2 controllers as I think the Dpad looks better.
Can you let us know when these will be available on their own?
Seconded. Is there an ETA for when standalone TrueStrike controllers be available for purchase?
Why is the trackpad not improved on the LeGo 2?
AMA with 20-40 min per answer ... LOL
I'm guessing they are not going to answer any questions about shipping.
Why are our Lenovo Shop orders delivery dates pushed back for 1-2 months when the delivery was supposed to happen this week? Thank you!
Brave of the team to be here after all the kerfuffle with the delays.
Be nice guys.
u/Lenovo_Legion when they start answering
Go2 waiters (except me....I didn't preorder lol)
They haven’t responded to anything so I wouldn’t give them too much credit.
Surprising they even did this since they ought to have known they were walking into a knife fight not having the device available in certain markets and pushing back shipping in those they have already accepted payment for.
Is there a SteamOS version in the works? Or is Lenovo at least working with Valve for SteamOS support on the Go 2?
While the Legion Go Gen 2 is optimized for Windows to deliver broad compatibility and a full gaming experience out of the box, its open hardware platform allows for users to explore alternative configurations if they choose. We are exploring official support for SteamOS on the Legion Go Gen 2.
You mean the SteamOS recovery image that every device uses to install it?
I think they’re only referring to the current image itself without further update.
But anyone who knows what they’re doing will use the image and switch to the Preview branch that Valve is working on because at the time the image was made, LeGo2 didn’t exists.
Valve say they provide Beta support for all AMD-based handhelds, so I don’t see how that Lenovo note is useful, it’s more confusing than anything.
Unless Lenovo has someone working at Valve, the SteamOS page says the opposite, LeGo2 support is coming.
I mean the answer doesn't answer the question directly.
Read like a lawyer.
For some motivation, I get better battery life and performance running SteamOS on my Legion Go (1st Gen) and CachyOS on my Asus laptop than either device gets running Windows 11. All of the unwanted spyware, AI, ads, and general enshittification of the OS has really ruined Windows going forward. I cannot imagine myself ever running Windows on any battery powered device ever again after my experience with Microsoft intentionally making their product worse for consumers over the last 5 years.
I’ll buy one if you do this. I won’t if you don’t.
Will purchase when SteamOS version is available. Heavy resource hog of Spydows 11 is an absolute no nowadays.
Why is it so expensive
So Lenovo, its pretty obvious you have withdrawn for now. If you come back a couple things.
Modding
Your marketing team has tried to embrace community modding that has occurred surrounding the original Legion Go, and you want to make it your marketing ploy.
Stop being disingenuous. When the Go was released, we, the community reached out in good fatih and requested 3d renders of the shell and plastic components for the Go, so we could save hundreds of hours of reverse engineering solutions to build custom enclosures and parts for them. We know official requests made it into Lenovo, we even heard they may have been approved. But the only thing that ever came was a very modest controller bridge design. So the people did the work, to mod without your help.
Nearly 6 months after the Legion Go release, I got fed up with the lack of a controller bridge/connector, to connect the controllers and charge them. Your accessories team was dragging their feet on a part that should have been available at launch. So I created one, over a weekend, and shared the basic info needed for anyone to build one. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/1bsnrm4/so_i_built_a_prototype_charging_bridge_for_the_go/ Shortly after that the economical brands started releasing them. Then finally 10 months after the Legion Go went on sale, you announced the accessories for the Go.
The charging connector, until recently has been very hard to acquire. People still struggle with its availability, you should try to improve this.
The dock, compounds one of the Legion Go product line design/retail choice issues. It's charging. The Go only ever comes with a 65w charger. Which under light to medium loads is ok. But under heavy loads 65w is not enough to keep up with power consumption on the Go products with a Z1e processor. The battery will steadily drain under these conditions. So when you dock the Go are you likely to be running in what mode? Low power mode? Nahh, you are far more likely to be running it to the max, even very likely hooked to an external monitor or tv. What happens when you do that? The dock takes that 65w PD charge ability and lowers the negotiated PD charging output to 45w, making the drain even worse. Did no one consider this? Doesn't seem well thought out to be perfectly honest. Maybe you should have bundled the dock with a 100w PD charger, because when you plug one of those into the dock then the go is able to complete a 65w negotiation.
I guess what I am getting at is if you are going to waltz in here today, nearly 2 years after the first go went on sale, and answer a handful of questions, want to try to capitalize on things like the modder movement but not address the concerns so many have, you are barking up the wrong legion. Are you here to stay, or are you here to try to calm people as yet another launch drifts sideways?
I dont speak for anyone but myself and those who choose to agree with this post, but if you want to try to take the blood, sweat and tears of the people who made their legion go theirs through modding, maybe dont come empty handed. I again request, 3d models of plastic parts so we may mod without having to start from scratch. Share more details about things like the connections the controllers use (maybe some schematics) so 3rd party companies can make controllers for the Go 1 & Go 2. And maybe, just maybe, listen to us, and HEAR us, about drivers, about needing better accessory designs, about wanting to be able to buy individual parts for use in controllers, not having to drop $75 and have to buy a whole controller. It's good to see you here a couple years in. Now, what do you bring to the Legion?
When will it launch for other countries? I'm from Colombia and see no signs of it hitting official or third-party stores
Same question for Mexico
Why did you not have one worldwide launch date and release them in all locations at the same time?
Why isn't it available to pre-order/purchase Legion Go Gen 2 in Canada??
+1 for shipping concerns. Extremely poor/none existent/inconsistent communication. Shady practices taking peoples money THEN moving the date months ahead. Some people getting theirs today/this week while others told it's a long wait.
Also concerned about buttons sticking when pressed together, is this known? What do I do if I get the same issue? Sending the whole unit backwards and forwards would be another concern and I also shouldn't be out of pocket for it either.
Why did it say 6-9 days when I ordered, you took my money, and today customer support claimed it was a custom order and you were waiting parts?
Is there plans for a steamos legion go 2?
While the Legion Go Gen 2 is optimized for Windows to deliver broad compatibility and a full gaming experience out of the box, its open hardware platform allows for users to explore alternative configurations if they choose. We are exploring official support for SteamOS on the Legion Go Gen 2.
I love the lack of answers for the payment and shipping questions, but the IMMEDIATE answers for accessories/case questions Lmaooo
Can we expect further performance updates for the Z2E chip, similar to what we saw for Z1E?
While we can’t comment on specific future performance updates, we can share that we work closely with AMD to provide ongoing driver and firmware support for the Ryzen Z2 Extreme platform. As with previous generations, our goal is to ensure stability, efficiency, and the best possible experience for Legion Go users, and any improvements from AMD will be made available through our regular update channels.
I like how they're ignoring g the shipping questions lmao
To be fair, they seem to be the development team. The shipping is typically handled by a different team. That said, they did say ‘availability’ in their message.
Well this is poorly timed and out of touch! Why have the vast majority of European orders been delayed significantly multiple times, despite assurances that they would be sent in 6-9 days? Why does no one at Lenovo support seem to know what's going on?
Can we expect new xbox os interface comming to LeGo 1 and LeGo 2?
Yes in 2026.
Just update the drivers on the OG Go
CANADA - when?
Are there any plans to utilise the upcoming Intel Panther Lake processors in the Legion Go line of devices (e.g a Panther Lake version of the Legion Go 2)?
Edited (Sept 18): Thank you for your interest in future processor options. At this time, we do not have plans to integrate Intel Panther Lake processors into the Legion Go 2. For this generation, our focus has been on delivering the best balance of performance, thermals, and portability with the current platform.
That said, we are always evaluating new technologies and opportunities for future Legion devices, and community interest plays an important role in shaping our roadmap.
I'd like to know why my order in the Lenovo Store was expected to ship today 15th and I got an email stating that it's delayed indefinitely?
u/Lenovo answer:
you need to answer the delivery questions before you loose many customers and stop ignoring them.
Same question as others about the shipping, order got delayed like others
Could you please answer some of the questions about delivery? Everyones delivery date keep getting pushed back - yet some have received theirs. What is going on?
Why are you holding shipments hostage by deliberately lying about package shipping dates? Is it to generate more sales? I'm starting to feel like world peace will come before my order
Why all the delays after people have ordered? Surely if you can't deliver in the 6-9 day time slot you shouldn't have had that on the website?
Oooh radio silence for two years about driver update lags and now they are so interested in this sub all of a sudden. Bought once for the first time, never again.
When is this device releasing in Asia?
Are you going to support the Legion Go 2 as poorly as you supported the Legion Go 1?
> Lenovo Legion Team publically announces AMA reddit thread
> Lenovo Legion Team proceeds to ignore any actually relevant and/or concerning questions/topics, and only answers casual irrelevant questions or bootlicking.
ggwp, 5/7
Okay except that we don't all want to have our order canceled, we prefer to wait for delivery than not have it at all, it's unfair for people who are willing to wait
Why do you want to steal people's orders to insure your retailers? We trusted you and we ordered on your site, so we don't want to have our products stolen and wait in line again.
CANADA - when ? Pre order not even open anywhere.
WHEN AND HOW MUCH
Why the fuck is it so god damn expensive!!
How are you handling driver updates on the new Go 2? Will they come from Lenovo or directly from AMD?
This question is a duplicate and got answered here https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/1nhni67/comment/necsd1y/ "AMD will be handling the AMD APU drivers this time around"
100% fullscreen sdr brightness nits measurements! No ' 10% max' numbers.
Is the trackpad the same internally as the original legion go?
Do the internal speakers sound decent out of the box? Or do they require an EQ adjustment like the original LeGo 1.
Running in performance mode, what are the temps when connected to an external display? It's nothing for a brand new Lego 1 to hit 80c at 100%. And what are the idle temps just sitting in the winders desktop
Is the d pad different than the original LeGo 1.
There are quite a few bugs for Z2E/HX370 chips for SteamOS for other devices and I figured it’s all on Steam side.
Is there a plan to integrate SteamOS officially like the Legion Go S into the Legion Go 2?
There’s probably an NDA but I assume it costs quite a bit to partner with steam but how much would that cost into your profit margins to do that vs releasing the device with native windows 😂?
What is the release date in Mexico?
Last answer was over 40 min ago I guess OUR QUESTIONS was not to their liking lol
When will the Philippines have pre-orders?
Side note, and nothing to do with the LeGo 2, but I think I speak for most LeGo 1 owners when I ask, can we get better driver support for the LeGo 1?
Is there any chance AMD can take over for driver support for the original LeGo?
gets popcorn ready 😂
An answer per hour is NOT an AMA! Its email support.
If you was not expecting shipping and pre order question - you really did not red the room!
Guys, at least recognise the shipping issue and provide some kind of response/update please, otherwise it isn’t a great look for your new product which is no doubt high quality
Why have you used single fan? Did you use vapor chamber and if not why? Is the thermal interface a phase change material, if not why the hell not? It’s twice the price but BoM is hardly that so this time around your company is greedily high profit oriented.
These are not the question we are looking for! - Lenovo
Why did y'all add the audio jack and second USB-C at the bottom instead of the top. It does have a built-in kickstand so it makes sense to put all outlets on top.
Is there a chance it can supoort fsr 4 and rdna 4?
Is it louder than the legion go 1?
How hot does it get?
Whats the battery life on it compared to legion go 1 (74 whr)
Is it supporting only wifi 6e and Bluetooth 5.3 and not wifi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4?
Have the speakers been improved?
Is it possible ai npu features can be added in? Or is the z2e processor non ai based.
Can the controllers be used to for gyro motion controls?
Why isn’t it shipping with an actual premium hardshell case? For the price it certainly should be.
I ordered the z2e version from best buy in the US. I know it says october 31st release date but is that set in stone or could it be earlier? Also does it ship with the grip for the truestrike controllers that was advertised??
I'm just curious why you guys didn't have the pre-order for canada. I've been waiting for 2 years patiently and it's really frustrating that such an amazing device got released everywhere but here. It's almost enough to make me try something else but the Temptation is too much
For the price you guys are asking, do I get 2 legion go 2s or am I misreading the 2?
Like many I am concerned about software support including drivers. The first legion had a very rocky rollout with drivers being behind months and months behind the current drivers at the time.
Can we expect a more consistent and up to date software and driver rollout?
Does the grip attachment come with the console?
So yall want around 1,300 for a device that you guys don’t give us any updates on ?? I bought the Legion Go few months after launch and I really appreciated the Ben guy giving us updates every other Friday. That was actually something I looked forward to after work, coming here on Reddit and seeing what was new. Then weeks later he pretty much says “hey Lenovo says I can’t give any updates on a product you spent $700 on.” ?????? I have to rely on a completely different 3rd party website and even then it’s just bits and pieces of info. Yall trippin charging 1300 for a device that still is terribly optimized first of all, and leaving customers in the dark about patch notes and updates is wack. What am i supposed to guess and predict when yall drop updates and what the updates even address ?? How does that even make sense
I’m passing on whatever other devices yall push out.
My Order Just got delayed again! I am sick and tired of your Games Just say Something about your shipment issues at the very least instead of keeping Radio silence
guys, this is AMA, Ask Me Anything, they didn't say that they'll answer.
The legion go 1's controllers got wobbly over time when connected to the main body, have steps been taken to address this
You can't just state some orders will be cancelled and ride back off into the sunset, state which ones and why! If it's to do with discount codes say so.
There's NO reason to cancel someone's order who is willing to wait other than you don't like the price they paid for it. "We don’t believe in holding onto customer payments" is a very weak excuse.
If mine is cancelled it will be the last straw and I won't buy it at all, a competitor benefits instead. I won't wait around constantly checking for a window of opportunity to order again.
Canadian pre-orders opened on October 1st, and I was able to put an order in with an estimated ship date between October 14th and October 16th. The date has changed to January 13th, which is kind of ridiculous to be honest.
Now my question is, is this actually true?
Where is the release in Canada ? There hasn’t been any info on availability
When will Canadians be able to pre-order? It’s very frustrating being left out with no updates
Hey there! Thanks for the launch of an awesome device. The inclusion of VRR OLED, trackpads, improved ergonomics and faster performance make for an awesome device and the only solid contender I see in front of the Steam Deck.
That said, the performance of the Z2E isn't as high as we had hoped. Are there any plans for a Ryzen AI Max 385/395 variant of the Legion Go 2?
Edited (Sept 18th): Thank you for the thoughtful question and for your excitement about Legion Go Gen 2. We’re proud of the improvements we’ve introduced, including a VRR OLED display, improved trackpad, ergonomics, and overall performance.
When designing gaming handhelds, we need to carefully balance performance, portability, thermal management, and stability to ensure the best overall user experience. After extensive testing, we found the Z2 Extreme to deliver the best balance of power, stability through a wide range of TDP settings, and operating temps.
We don’t have plans to integrate processors such as the Ryzen AI Max 385/395, as those are designed for laptops with very different cooling and power requirements. That said, we’re always exploring new opportunities and technologies for future generations, with the goal of continually raising performance and enhancing the Legion handheld experience.
WHERE IS the pre -order, price and release date for CANADA?????
Are we a joke to you?? Are you so allergic to money?
CANADA, When?? and How much!
Will there be a Version of the Legion GO 2 with Steam OS ?
Or another Linux version?
Just not Windows.
They said no plans for steam os right now
Instead of just ignoring orders questions, could you just answer if you know or not what the F is happening with our orders? If you don’t know just say it, but do not just ignore us.
It really is quite telling that any order-related questions are being summarily ignored. Really making me question keeping my Go 2 order.
Same, they are ignoring our order questions, and I am also hesitating to cancel and buy something else instead. It is that I really want that OLED panel with VRR, but this whole situation and release is not bringing me any joy anymore and the hype is almost gone for it.
When is it going to be available for preorder on Walmart and Target and how does the VRR work with the device?
I want to get one in the US
Any word on Canadian pricing and release date?
Is there an estimate on when I'll be able to pre-order or buy the Go 2? I'm very excited to buy one but there have been no news for Mexico yet!
What is the official Brazil release date?
Will there be a keyboard attachment in the future?
When will Lego 2 preorder be available in Japan ? 🥲
Would this get released in indonesia? When?
Will the US release also have options to purchase the 512gb Z2E variant?
Will the new Go 2 have full 2280 support? And will it be Gen 4 drives or Gen 5 drives?
Edited (Sept 18): Yes, the Legion Go Gen 2’s SSD slot natively supports both 2242 and 2280 PCIe Gen 4 SSDs (single sided). For the default configurations, the 512GB and 1TB models ship with 2242 SSDs, while the 2TB configuration comes with a 2280 SSD.
With the delivery situation i think it’s an appropriate to start this thread without clarifying what exactly is happening.
The device is practically not released yet, and most of who ordered the device on day 1 (when it was saying ships in 6 to 9 days) are not sure if we will receive it even 2 months from now!
When can i buy in Czech Republic?
Also what about driver support?
When will this sell in indonesia?
I figured Lenovo would eventially show up. There are a lot of posts about canceling, because of a lack of shipping.
Can double sided 8TB 2280 ssd fit and function in legion go 2.
Are you working with Microsoft to fix the scheduler issues with the Zen5 and Zen5c cores in the Z2 Extreme to eliminate the stuttering issues present currently?
Why not include a trackpad that can be used to play, as opposed to one that mostly only works well enough for navigation?
Why is no NPU included like the other new handheld?
Will there be holiday discounts for US?
Oh also. Is there a planned Legion Go 2 Dock? Than can handle 120hz? Or shall we just grab the OG Legion dock
Why did my order go from 22/09 to 24/10 (Belgium)
Why is the price so high? The actual difference between the first gen and second gen is not as huge as the price difference between the two consoles
They answered 11 people. All those questions left unanswered.
Maybe its like delayed AMA answers. Gonna answer Oct, maybe Nov
I don't have a Leg Ion Go 2, nor do I really plan on buying one, as I just got the Leg Ion S! I'm pretty happy with it, and wanted to express my appreciation!
I do have a question though; it's an official device for SteamOS, so why are the firmware updates for some of the components locked behind installing Windoze spyware?? It seems like there should be a modicum of time spent finding a way to update these components without installing a whole other OS, because my pathetically small "mouse area postage stamp" just doesn't work. Yay touch screen and dock, I guess?
How did you decide on the pricing? Why is LG2 almost twice as expensive as the previous variant?
Why did you decide to not make a steam OS variant?
Why was the shipment in Germany delayed by almost 2 months? Why is it better to buy the Lenovo Legion Go 2 instead of the MSI Claw 8 AI+ or the ROG Xbox Ally X? What makes your device stand out the most? Best regards <3
When will the price go down?
On my Legion Go 1 I could plug on two displays (4k120 and 1440p120) on both usb-c slots without the device shutting itself off after a couple of minutes. Will this be better on the 2?
Why there is no way to have Lenovo support on support.lenovo.com page for handhelds? There is no category for handhelds even....
Steam os version?
Will it receive official Steam OS support?

Will legion go 2 support double sided 2280 ssd or does it need to be single sided?
They haven’t answered one single question yet.
Are there any plans to make a killswitch case with dbrand?
Can it run the M2 8tb 2280 SSD straight out of the box?
Can it take 8tb 2280 ssd?
I wonder if y'all are considering to make a Legion Go 2S, with an OLED screen and similar battery size, but more traditional as the previous S, as in, less heavy in size and width. And if paired so with a SteamOS partnership, boy oh boy would the be awesome 🙃
I have to question about the O.S.
1- Will the LG2 have a Gaming Version of the Windows 11 O.S. like the xbox ally, in the future?
We’re glad you asked u/Galaxy11D. Operating system support is a topic we know the community cares deeply about.
SteamOS - Based on our successful collaboration with Valve in the past, we’re pleased to share that we are already in discussions with them regarding SteamOS support for Legion Go Gen 2. This is an exciting opportunity, and we’re exploring ways to make it happen officially. Please stay tuned for more details and timing once confirmed.
Xbox FSE - Please follow Microsoft’s announcements for Xbox Full Screen Experience updates.
Legitimate question here as someone who is looking to step into this handheld market soon.
For what reason should I buy a Legion Go 2, when the Xbox Ally X is better is in just about every way (from the "base" Legion Go 2), aside from the screen?
I was VERY excited for the Legion Go 2 until I found out it was $200 more with worse specs. (Screen aside) I know the size of the screen and OLED is a big deal, don't get me wrong, but everything else is worse unless I pay $450 more [than the Xbox Ally X]! I initially wasn't aware of the two models, and was pumped to buy the $1350 model for what I thought was $1099. But man was I bummed when I found out otherwise...
I'm actually surprised this thing isn't DOA based on price alone. Can someone tell me why they think I'm wrong? Again, legitimately asking that.
What does life for the Legion Go gen. 1 look like moving forward? I only recently bought a used one, but I see a lot of owners lament the admittedly very long gaps between updates
When can I buy the new TrueStrike controllers for my Legion Go 1?
Tbh, this AMA just massively undermines the trust I have for Lenovo to not screw up this device again.
They literally went missing after answering a few questions. How can I be sure they won’t do so with updates and drivers after we have our devices ?
Can I buy the legion go 2 speakers for legion go 1?
PLEASE KEEP THE LEGO 1 UPDATED. THANKS!
When can I buy the Go 2 controllers and slap them on my Go 1?
why there's no preorder page on Lenovo.com US?
