And why would YouTube be a good or "best" metric? Bots are bots. Does youtube try to stamp bots out? H3 pretty clearly still has a ton of bots (imo, anyway...). Twitch actually said and then did a little bit to stop the botting. What has YouTube/google done? Or are we supposed to just believe there isn't a botting problem on YouTube? Because I don't believe that at all. Why would it only affect one platform and not another when on both platforms creators are incentivized to get bigger views counts in order to get bigger ad payouts? It seems to be only logical. Unless YouTube or a third party (preferably a trusted one who performs some sort of audit) has released information on combating the inflation of view counts. If that exists I haven't seen it. So I just keep going back to my original question of why should YouTube be viewed as "better."
Hasan's youtube views are spread across a multitude of fan channels, so no, I don't think that's a particularly useful metric, unless you're adding all those channel's views together.
Best metric is maybe the view counts from the last time twitch did a bot purge. It was quite telling to see whose views took a dip and whose didn't.
I don't really get how is this even a talking point and even Hasan agrees with me, Asmon is for sure bigger, question is just by how much and where trends are going, he is undeniably growing at highest rate out of every "politics" guys but we will see how will deal with the scrutiny that comes with it, history says he cannot so I'm looking forward to that. Inorganic is probably a better word. The inflation of numbers has a throughline to billionaire money and influence and I think that is a problem in general, whether it comes into your paradigm of 'botting!' and just that wider argument about it.
But I do think that this kind of thing is a genuine problem when their output is 'look at how many people think this' and you realise it is still a very small portion of a democratic block.
