Due to poor weather across almost all of Germany, I had to drive all the way to the german/austrian border in order to catch a clear night. Since I had never photographed a meteor shower before, the effort was absolutely worth it β especially when I saw the first Geminids streaking across the sky above me. Such a wonderful sight that everyone should experience at least once. Even though my limited time during the night did not allow me to capture the largest meteors, I am very happy with the final result. Also captured some red & green airglow, always nice to have. The images were taken between 10:00 PM and 12:00 AM.

Wow! You absolutely nailed it!
thank you, aprreciate it!ππ»
Is this a stacked image or single exposure? Iβm working on stacking my geminids images but itβs not proving to be easy
the panorama panels are stacke. The Meteors are not, those are single exposures registered to the panorama image
Great picture! I was hoping to catch them too, wrote a note in my calendar a couple months ago. Even had a clear sky the night before, some people got a little aurora. Aaaaand on the peak night we got totally overcast sky and a snowfall. Well, the snow was nice, but even that is gone today because of the weather getting warmer again.
Thanks man! I feel you. Astro in Germany weatherwise is always a rollercoaster. The forecast for that night was changing every 2 hours π Even on the drive to the spot I thought about driving back because suddenly fog turned up around me π
Amazing capture!
Since the Halpha was taken at a long focal length than the panorama do you scale it to fit the final image?
Iβve been thinking of getting a Halpha filter, this makes me want one even more.
The halpha image is registered exactly with a software called registar. Works amazing!
You should go for it, It's pretty fun. Especially for winter milky way images!
Love it!
appreciate it π
Lovely. Saying hello from Switzerland⦠where we have had Hochnebel for what seems like an eternity now.
Thank you! Germany is not much better. I was lucky to catch a clear night down there, because the weather in rest of germany was awfulπ
Iβve gotten out to the alps above the Nebel for paragliding yesterday and today. Seeing the sun is a good thing.
Very beautiful.π
thanks!!ππ»
