I'll be honest - partly became interested in the idea from reading this article on Thief, but also - Stompy is evidently taller than most of its counter parts in most other media, at least it very much appears so, and I wonder if even the devs sorta documented it or smth

Not much. They both observe each other, the xeno gets bored and moves on. If Data gets in its way he gets a swipe which he easily avoids. But being smart, Data never lets it get that far and stays outside of the xenos aggro range.
Depends on the Xeno’s behavior to that point. If this is first contact, and Data doesn’t have a clue about it, Xeno will probably ignore Data & Data will probably get his Spock Jr. on with some science. However, if/when the humanoid contingent of the away team starts being converted into goo puddles or incubators, Data would probably figure out a way to technobabble the chestbursters out of folks without killing them, and remove the adult xenos as a further threat.
I don’t see Data going the extermination route unless it was the last possible option.

i did some searching and while there's no direct source, it appears it was made to be 9-10 feet, or 3 meters.
at the end of the game you can see it stand up straight, and it towers over you, so i think that's about right

Bishop in Aliens was ripped in half because the queen knew it was a potential threat.
As long as Data does nothing to hurt or impede I do not see the Alien doing anything to him.
This is all based on the movies I have seen....I could be wrong :)
