Hello guys, I am going to pick up someone from LAX. My plan is parking my car somewhere at the C-Line nearby LAX, and use transit to avoid all those horrbile traffic jams nearby terminals. Which station will be the best for my plan? Especially with accessible cheap parking?

  • is the person capable of lifting their luggage onto a bus then they could look for the M connector bus just look for the pink colored pole to catch the bus which will take them to the lax transit center then you could have them walk out to the sidewalk and pick them up it works best if they have a smartphone so you can keep track

there is an arco station on the corner of aviation/ w arbor vitae you could probably squat in that lot to wait for that person

  • The LAX/MTC itself has a driveway for pickups on its own and it's usually empty right now because no one knows about it. And this part of the LAX area is pretty quiet and no traffic so you could just have your visitor take the free shuttle to this location and just pick them up here.

how long has this been open ? I remember seeing a recommendation from Metro themselves to get picked up outside of the LAXMTC but that might be outdated now

Been open for months now. Very few people use it though because no one knows about it. It's the best kept LAX hack right now to take advantage of. It's also cheaper to get an Uber/Lyft from here because it's just right outside of the LAX area where there's an airport surcharge.

  • There's plenty of parking at Aviation/Imperial station lot for $3/day. That's two stops away from LAX/Metro Transit Center.

Thats the location I would suggest as well.

  • I've waited at LAX Cell Phone Waiting Lot (West) and it's worked well. I arrive 15 minutes before friends or relatives land in LAX and then wait for their call. They call once they are waiting on the curb and I can pick them up in five to ten minutes.

  • The question is how far west you want to drive, or if you want to make your friend ride the C Line as far east as possible. It's 35 minutes from LAX to Norwalk.

...which is about the same as driving. The C line is remarkably fast and I suspect will become a de-facto LAX park-and-ride.

  • Send them to Mariposa Station or El Segundo off the K.

    Virtually no traffic.

I second this. The Southern end of the K Line is easy.

  • The Metro website says which stations have free parking. Iirc, Willowbrook/Rosa Parks has free parking.
