"I Hate Bill Maher" is a fun one. "Decoding Fox News", "Conspirituality" and "Anti-Fascist Dad" (same guy), "QAA Podcast", "Weird Little Guys", 'Decoding the Gurus", "I Don't Speak German", then "Dumb People Town" for a nice pallet cleanser.
Louder Than Crowder, Gish Gallop Girl, OnBrand (on hiatus but worth the wait).
I Hate BM is comedian based, w fewer political takes, but is well done.
Never heard of DPT but I’m adding it to my list.
I’ve tried I hate Bill Maher a few times, and I do indeed hate Bill Maher. The problem is the host of that show is so pathological that it feels really whiny and petty the things he picks on. There’s SO much to criticise Maher about already but he just comes off as bitter himself to me. He’s definitely better when he has a guest, the solo shows are rough.
Yeah, I only ran across that one recently. Agree, the best are when he has a guest (most episodes) who has only a passive relationship to Maher like most people. Then, they watch the episode being discussed and analyze it and really become enraged at the woke talk, out of touch elitism, etc. from an outsider's perspective. That makes it fun, because Maher is indeed a moron.
I agree the episodes where he gets a guest on are better, and sometimes the hate can skew a bit much, but sometimes it's just right.
Like, I hate Alex so much, but I hate Bill in a completely different, sometimes more intense way because he has so much broad acceptance and a mainstream platform where he gets to peddle bullshit. And as the podcast points out, I think it is broadly unacknowledged the reality of what Maher is doing on his show and how horrendous his viewpoints really are.
For a lighter subject (or more time between now and then), 'This Fire' is pretty fun. It's about an 80's Christian teen SNL clone and the various moral panics they go through.
I’ve been listening to Posting Through It. It’s not exactly the same thing, but lots of interesting stuff, and they do a Who the Hell Is…that’s pretty interesting.
Marsh and Cecil are fantastic. And the Season 2 finale episode was awesome. Very excited for Season 3.
When the podcast started last year, I said it was like Knowledge Fight but not quite as angry. But that's mostly because Dan and Jordan are thousands of episodes into listening to one of the worst human beings alive. They're so done with Alex's bullshit and know better.
The KR guys, on the other hand, really gave Rogan a chance. They gave him the benefit of the doubt and tried to end each episode with a positive.
Now, 2 seasons and 150+ hours in, it really seems like they're just tired of his shit lol
Kudos to the boys for trying to remain professional...but Joe is just another Alex; a hopelessly deluded asshole running a stupid grift on a stupid audience.
I really appreciate the way Marsh and Cecil worked to remain calm and look for the positives, because maybe there’s a chance someone will listen to them and learn something.
I appreciate them so much because I think many of us have people we know, even people we care about who listen to Rogan who seem… fairly normal but now I hear Rogan, I hear him in depth and now I know all the shit people like them and people on social media who tried to tell us “the left had Joe Rogan!” Are bullshit.
Like anyone who tries to suggest to me that Rogan is not so bad, I now have real, substantial and consistent examples of him putting women down. It’s really helpful in understanding how a younger generation of men are absorbing sexism.
Unlike Alex who's at the fringe, Rogan is kind of at the center of the current conservative/libertarian zeitgeist so it's an important way to stay plugged into that (ridiculous) world without actually having to listen to it and make yourself stupider. It's important to listen to Kash Patel and Elon Musk and Peter Theil...without actually having to listen to them.
Interestingly, KnowRogan is essentially what Rogan listeners think the Rogan podcast is.
We get to listen to different viewpoints and explore various fields and important figures...but responsibly. Fact-checked and with context, so that we audit what we hear, both the variable and the proxy. We make sure we're skeptical and centred in a healthy way.
A buddy of mine listens to Rogan and always says "I don't believe all of it! it's good to listen to different views!". So I asked him to point out one single Elon said in his last show. Just one. He couldn't name one. Having heard it Cecil and Marsh's breakdown, that's astonishing because he didn't fucking stop lying.
I honestly think it's one of the most important podcasts out there right now.
Sexism is his opener. Wait til he gets to really seasoned stuff, the stuff that's just been sitting out in the open, drying out, attracting flies for...9 years, like his material on forced sex changes. Classic. But, his new material is unlike anything we've seen before: Jesus will return with the body of a virgin computer.
now I know all the shit people like them and people on social media who tried to tell us “the left had Joe Rogan!” Are bullshit
They are pretty correct; Rogan had a number of left-leaning views on topics. The Know Rogan guys did that episode of Candace Owens where he pushes back pretty hard on her being a climate denier.
What changed between him then and now?
COVID. He got ripped for taking ivermectin by the left and basically went right wing.
If you haven’t listened to If Books Could Kill, it’s a similar format but they debunk terrible books. My favorite intro episode is the Men are from mars, women are from Venus episode! It’s an early one
Crowder is rough as fuck to listen to, like listening to Alex Jones with 20% more racism, misogyny, and smugness. I noticed the LTC guys talk a lot longer than the clips they play of Crowder, which is understandable. Christ what a shithead.
Also the Citation Needed podcast that’s a media journalism podcast is pretty good. It’s pretty hard to listen to because of the waves hands towards existence but they have solid stories.
Knowledge Fight. I don't know if they're the OG "podcast that does a deep dive into one right winger", but they were early entrants and still one of the best. Dan and Jordan dog into Alex Jones. (And currently, some Tucker Carlson.)
I'm a blue collar trades guy. I love Well there's your problem. Some days I think we are standing on the shoulders of giants while pissing in the wind. Then I listen to some previous generation's engineering failure usually brought on by unnecessary penny pinching. Turns out we were always pretty dumb.
On Brand, with Al Worth covers Russell Brand and it’s well researched and informative. Now that Russell is in the USA and affiliated with Tucker, Alex and that mob, it’s another piece of the puzzle. Russell, back in the day, was a podcaster of woo-woo views and some reasonable alternative lifestyle stuff but since his being charged with multiple counts of SA, he’s decamped to Florida after being baptized in the Thames River by Bear Grilles and is now on the christo supplement grift. It’s a long way from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Not quite in line with what you're asking for but Skeptics with a K! It's Marsh's other podcast and I can't recommend it enough.
Instead of analyzing Rogan, each of the hosts take turns bringing a topic that seems scientifically dubious or some modern political/technological/medical rhetoric and examine it under a skeptical lens.
Great show, great vibes. And like KnowRogan, it's well researched and well reasoned.
If you haven't checked it out yet, "Where There's Woke" does multi-episode deep-dives on whatever brain worms are eating up the right and getting the hosts' attention. It's Thomas from Opening Arguments and his wife Lydia (Lidia?), and they are so good at cutting through the bullshit and doing the arduous work of running down all the lies the right spews. I particularly liked their work on Jon Ronson and on New College/Christopher Rufo.

I feel like Will would be shocked to hear his show has "fewer political takes" lol.
Dan has spoiled us with his even handed, measured approach.
I definitely prefer the episodes where there are guests on, but that's true of most of the podcasts I listen to that are driven by a single host.
He gets much better as he goes along and the solo shows are definitely rough.
For a lighter subject (or more time between now and then), 'This Fire' is pretty fun. It's about an 80's Christian teen SNL clone and the various moral panics they go through.
I’ve really grown to love the Know Rogan guys!!
I’ve been listening to Posting Through It. It’s not exactly the same thing, but lots of interesting stuff, and they do a Who the Hell Is…that’s pretty interesting.

100%.

Yes!!!
They are pretty correct; Rogan had a number of left-leaning views on topics. The Know Rogan guys did that episode of Candace Owens where he pushes back pretty hard on her being a climate denier.

COVID. He got ripped for taking ivermectin by the left and basically went right wing.
Yeah I just gave $5 to Poating Theough It, listening to them now!
I love those guys. I also support them and love their bonus eps too. They are low key heavyweights in the field of RW research and demolishing.
*Posting oops
If you haven’t listened to If Books Could Kill, it’s a similar format but they debunk terrible books. My favorite intro episode is the Men are from mars, women are from Venus episode! It’s an early one
One of my favorite pods ever. Not a New Yorker but their Eric Adams episodes are hilarious.
“Something as simple as a crackpipe…” 🤣😆
I like those guys—I love Michael—but I haven’t heard that episode! Thanks!
Definitely one of my favorites! Great rapport between the hosts.
The constant braying laughter after every second sentence makes it a hard listen though.
There's also "Louder Than Crowder", whose hosts cover Stephen Crowder's show.
Came to say this. Plus I love double salutes.
Crowder is rough as fuck to listen to, like listening to Alex Jones with 20% more racism, misogyny, and smugness. I noticed the LTC guys talk a lot longer than the clips they play of Crowder, which is understandable. Christ what a shithead.
I'll check the pod out, however, I think Crowder's smugness is more like 70%.
Citation Needed is fun. It’s one of Cecil’s other podcasts. Basically the Dollop but with 5 guys and skits.
Also the Citation Needed podcast that’s a media journalism podcast is pretty good. It’s pretty hard to listen to because of the waves hands towards existence but they have solid stories.
That's "Citations" with an 's' at the end. For folks looking.
I’m new to Cognitive Dissonance and I like it a lot. Irreverent and funny AF.
Weird Little Guys with Molly Conger is great and she’s given the KF guys a shoutout. Plus she has the best voice.
Her voice is so soothing. Is it weird that I listen to podcast about right wing terrorism to calm down because of the voice? Yes, but here we are
Behind the Bastards!
They cover a bunch of different bastards sometimes across two or more episodes. Lots of good research, great hosts.
Yes! I love this show. Dan and Jordan have been the guests on the Alex Jones episodes.
Knowledge Fight. I don't know if they're the OG "podcast that does a deep dive into one right winger", but they were early entrants and still one of the best. Dan and Jordan dog into Alex Jones. (And currently, some Tucker Carlson.)
If you like KRE, you'll probably like KF.
Check the subreddit, haha
Gah! I thought it was the God Awful Movies sub!
Blush
This one seems pretty decisive. I don't know how this will land here.
Know Rogan doesn't have it's own subreddit, last I looked, so I came to Knowledge Fight itself to get recs haha. Back to the OG!
Wow I'll have to check them out 😉
Kill James Bond and Well there's your problem always rock.
I'm a blue collar trades guy. I love Well there's your problem. Some days I think we are standing on the shoulders of giants while pissing in the wind. Then I listen to some previous generation's engineering failure usually brought on by unnecessary penny pinching. Turns out we were always pretty dumb.
I love "if books could kill" more about nonfiction books, but excellent commentary

On Brand - Russell Brand, very KFy down to the bright spots
