Oats are an awesome sub for the standard bread crumbs - I soak old fashioned oats in some warm milk with a little Worcestershire sauce, then strain before adding.
Also, OP noted in a comment that this is in an assisted living community, oats are way healthier!
Are you using gf oats in the meatloaf? Because oats and wheat are grown in the same fields and harvested with the same machinery and processed on the same equipment so oats often have significant cross-contamination. Most celiacās definitely would not eat oats unless theyāre gluten-free.
Youāve never used eggs as a binder in a meat loaf? Itās weird to list it as an ingredient on the menu, but this is partially a health-care facility so we list everything all the allergens.
Omit the sauce?
Did they tell Picasso he couldn't use a brush?
The sauce is the best part of the meatload!
A server offered me an unsauced meatload the other day, said it was on special.
I broke his jaw in three places for the insolence. My wife still says he got off lightly.
I would expect a meatload to emit sauce.

The sauce would be the best part.

Donāt let the Mediterraneans hear you say that.

I mean like, somehow my brain excuse oats of all things, but eggs is where it draws the line.Ā Ā
That dish could be a film by Christopher NolanĀ

Oh man, maybe i was too inebriated. Of course I have. My tore up self for some reason imagined a meatloaf with scrambled eggs inside.
