• Hello everyone! As a reminder this is a satire subreddit for the dumb/silly things children do. The subreddit name is not literal. Although posts can have kids doing actual "stupid" things. It is not a requirement. Yes, blaming the parent is valid. However, this does not mean crossing the line into actually insulting the parent is ok (assuming they are the OP) (Rule #1).

This is also not a hate sub for children. If you don't like kids, that's fine. Just don't spread vitriol.

Please read the sidebar for more information.

  • I would be one freaked out barista

She definitely widened her eyes a little, I jumped in with the nervous laugh “yes because you’re my niece!” combo and realized after the fact that kind of made it look sketchier. Luckily the kid was like “what I was just saying” and it seemed kosher so all was good. 😅

I would've looked at the kid and said "Ho, you have a phone, you in trouble, you know the number..." I prolly wouldn't have called her a ho. But This ain't Taken. I'm not Liam Neeson. I do NOT have a particular set of skills that will help me, help you and make an AWESOME movie... as I turn around and get the next person's order.

  • Barista: “They don’t pay me enough to give a damn about that

I wouldn’t have to be paid to give a damn about that.

  • I was sent to collect my nephew from school 1 day as he was ill and both parents unable to leave work. Tell me why I rock up and this lil turd says "i dont know her" Obviously school took this very seriously, as they should. They were unable to contact parents on their phones because..... both at work. School had me as a pick up allowed person so called my number, that rang, and they still made me wait until they could reach his parents. A quick pick up turned into an hour with a kid vomming in a carrier bag next to me. Normal school was over. His elder sister walked over said hi to us explained I was their auntie. Which then made her have to stay at school until my brother was reached incase I fancied kidnapping 2 kids. Thankfully their dad called about 2 mins after. But damn..... keep him!!

Did he ever explain why he said that?

No. He was about 4 so not sure if he would remember.

  • This has so much irrelevant information.

What's really weird is that it's not a post, its a saved note.

I wrote it in the notes to post here. As to both comments - fair enough, but it was never that serious.

  • Man, decent instead of descent is the new your instead of you're.

    It’s a typo, it happens. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • When my now 17yo was 9, we stopped at the local grocery store on our way home after a very long day of activities. They don't look like us since their birth father was Black (but they see my husband as their dad, period) and Puerto Rican, and both my husband and I are pasty white.

I had stayed in the car, but they ran in with their dad and decided to spend the few quarters they had on one of the sticker/toy machines at the front of the store. Unfortunately, the machine malfunctioned and ate their money. There wasn't anyone at the store to help them since it was late, and my husband told them it was time to go. They decided they didn't want to leave, and started crying.

He waited for a few minutes, trying to get them to calm down, but they were only escalating. Eventually, he simply picked them up to carry them out of the store with them screaming bloody murder. This is something that unfortunately wasn't uncommon, since they are neurodivergent, like the rest of us, so we do what we can, and have been through so many classes and counseling sessions.

Anyway, they calmed down once we were in the car and we started to drive home. As we were exiting the parking lot, 4 black SUVs from our local police department surrounded our car and blocked us from leaving. The cops pull my husband from the car and start questioning him, while another came to the car to talk to us. Now my child is screaming again, only now it's "my daddy did nothing wrong!" I patiently explained that we are their parents, and they were just having a meltdown after a long day, and a disappointing interaction with the machine.

They eventually let us go, and as much as I appreciate whoever called, making sure that my child was safe, if they would have taken two minutes to talk to literally anyone that worked at the store, they could have found out that it was their dad, and they were fine, just tired. Luckily there isn't much for the cops to do in our town, so they got to have a cute fit their boredom for a few minutes.

  • Her condition was being of Irish/Scottish decent?

Fetal alcohol syndrome plus being starved and beaten as a very young child. She is biological but we adopted her from her mom when she was about six because she was severely neglected. Not all jokes are funny, my friend.
