I was following a "keto inspired" diet/lifestyle for the last half dozen or so years. I don't measure, I don't obsess about tracking macros, but my instinct was always leading me toward 10-20% calories from carbs, though I do occasionally drop down into the single digits. Yes, it's higher than the 5% that I usually see people talking about, but in all honesty, if I felt good and never had cravings or "keto flu", had improving labs and was losing weight, it seems like a win to me. Over the last few years, I lost 100+ lbs, though I'm not sure exactly where I started. I'm OK with it.
UInfortunately, in the last few months, I was put on a medication that's messing with my body cues. Combine that with massive financial stress and you get to much carb heavier meals... and weight gain. I don't do non-caloric sweeteners at all (even "natural" ones) and prefer to avoid them most of the time. In addition to being more attracted to carbs, I also am having less impulse control... so I've gained about 20 lbs.
I don't want to gain the rest back for SO many reasons, but I also don't know how to afford to cut back on the starch. I've been eating a lot of legumes. And, of course, the refined starches and sugar can't help matters, though I don't eat a LOT of those, even now. Well, let's not count Halloween candy because once that's gone, it's gone.
Which Reddit group is most appropriate to go for support for loosely keto-inspired, low budget meal plan support?
The is group doesn’t have much activity. May have better luck with keto or xxketo.
