I’m pretty close to starting a class action lawsuit against freightliner on how the decided to cut zip ties. This has to be intentional. Almost impossible to work on these without ruining your arms

  • Some people just want to watch the world burn

    Bleed. Watch the world bleed.

  • Not enough people know about zip tie guns. That cut it’s WILD

Another of the time they are too bulky to get down there.. flush cutters should be legal required.

This was me. Had to cut it off in an extremely narrow location, got it the best I could. It was very unlikely I ever need to reach my hand in their again, although once I had to and got scratched by it. Couldn't be mad since it was me who left the sharp npoint behind

Interviewed for a mechanic position on a race team. The literal 1st question asked was "do you own flush cut pliers?"

  • some wankers do that on purpose. may cold cat piss always fill their boots.

May their socks always be wet and their pillow be hot.

You forgot to add a warm toilet seat, and not the nice kind of warm.

The type of toilet seat that just had a big fat SWEATY dude take a nuclear bomb level shit in.

The only thing worse than a cold public toilet seat is a warm public toilet seat.

I like my toilet seats like my sexual partners warm and wet.

    No one deserves that

    Oh yes… they Do.

May the flea of a thousand camels infest his armpit.

Karnak reference to start the day, nice.

May all beverages taste like orange juice after brushing your teeth.

This is the sadistic brutality I live for.

Copyrighted admonition - "given a gasoline enema and shot with a flaming arrow" - copyright me.

May those people suffer from extreme flatulence and explosive diarrhea for the rest of their life.

    May they henceforth breathe manually.

May the fleas of 1000 camels infest their bed!

  • Oh Captain, my captain. I've followed him for over 20 years now. He's taught me so much

  • people that do this deserve a special place in hell. the amount of times ive sliced my hand or arm open on these fuckers i stopped counting. Either dont cut them off, or cut them flush.

  • "Don't be an animal, flush cut your zipties" -ZKmastertech

  • I work on cell towers and I have made people climb back up to fix their zip ties on multiple occasions when I noticed in the pictures

    Gods work right there.

  • I've seen someone do this as a marker for changes being done in service. basically, it makes you aware that it isn't stock in and around the area they've used the ties. I've also known someone use a punch to put a hole in the tie tail to do the same thing.

That seems like a lot of effort for something that could be easily represented by a colored zip tie. Just order a pack from McMaster and call it a day.

  • Alexa, play In The End by Linkin Park.

  • What's more infuriating is when you watch someone do this with flush cut pliers. It's a tool perfectly suited to making these things as harmless as possible but you... YOU chose violence.

  • I see those... my flush cuts come out... F*ck getting all cut up from THAT...

  • yea but this way you can find them in the dark super easy

  • Am I weird for having toenail clippers in my toolbox for zip ties and only zip ties

It’s a 3 step process that takes about 5 seconds longer than a single cut, but it leaves a nice curved nub that can be seized with needle nose and pulled tighter if needed. Also, no cutting self accidentally later when replacing a filter or belt

  • It's recently been a trend on Insta and tiktok to cut these that way for clout and clicks, so yeah. This most likely IS intentional for the views.

While we're at it: The internet has ruined things.

  • The engine gods require a blood sacrifice.

  • If you can't cut it flush, don't cut it at all.

  • That’s some disgruntled workers there!

  • That's attempted murder right there.

  • I always cut them like that. Makes it so much easier to find in the dark.

  • That’s how Ariens snipped off the rivets holding the hand grips on my snowblower. Finger daggers. Discovered it the first time I stood it on its nose to grease the insides.

  • I do this on purpose specifically to punish underdash explorers. I do car audio custom builds and with how many people come back with their shit all fucked because they played with the wires I would leave bear traps if I could.

Sometimes wrenchies are caught in the crossfire and that’s simply a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

  • End nippers from HF and or side cutters depending on the angle are awesome

Zip tie guns to install zip ties with maximum tightness

The only thing I can thing of is leaving that end on does make it easier to remove a zip tie since you can pull on the end with pliers and cut it but that sharp angle is crazy

  • Scientists have observed that when a small population of semi trucks is allowed to exist feral in the wild for more than two generations, they naturally begin to evolve these self defenses around their vital organs to protect from predators.

  • Vietnamese use to do the same during the war 😭

  • Toenail clippers are one of the best tools in my toolbox.

  • I banned zip ties in our network rooms at work because of this. Fucking diabolical

I tried to ban zip ties at my place of work due to lost time injuries from cutting zip ties with anything else besides diagonal cutters. First injury of 2018 was a person removing a Happy New Years sign from a chain link fence using a box cutter on January 2nd, needed 6 stitches. We were closed January 1 and the reportable injury occured 30 minutes into the year. Didn't use the right tool. Didn't cut away from themselves. I try, and I try, and I try...so frustrating!

  • I'm in Danger. (GIF)

  • I’ve almost made a post about this multiple times. We install dump bodies for the local city and installing the cylinder mounts is torture. First of all freightliner runs their wires and air hoses in the most ignorant way possible, and in a two foot span there will be 20 zip ties cut exactly like that. All of them, they don’t cut any of them straight across.

  • I cut most of mine like this, but then I follow up by hitting it with a lighter so they aren't sharp. Can't cut ya if they aren't sharp

At the factory I used a zip tie gun, or left the tail intact so it’s not sharp

I don't own a zip tie gun and I don't trust flush cut. And leaving the tail drives me nuts

I see, in my case leaving the tail provides a visual guide to the customer as to where the accessories are located on the pallet

On a pallet the tail makes sense, in an engine bay it just looks unfinished to me.
