  • “I have accepted a contract” mfer tryna spin it like he got scouted and signed to a team or some shit.

I’m taking my talents to Fayetteville.

North Carolina. Its a Kings Inn. She's paid after.

"If J.Cole succeeded there, who says I can't"

My friends who were there call it Fayette'nam.

    Respect my decision

How do you think the recruiter sold it to him? Probably convinced the kid that such a gifted athlete such as him would find it a walk in the park and be treated like royalty as soon as he arrived.

he will probably make it into ranger regiment as long as he isn't a blue falcon or a complete idiot. D1 athletes have a leg up on the rest of us with that type of stuff, especially when selections are such a physical event

Plenty of absolute stud athletes get the Ranger tabs but never get the scroll. At that level everyone is at peak physicality and what sets you apart is the mental game.

Yeah I had two former D1 football guys in my class that both washed out in Florida. Wrestlers do have the best overall strength/conditioning combo, though, so I wouldn’t count this guy out.

    Nah that’s football

Lol. Everybody in the 82nd got a full ride. This reads like "I'm about to flunk out of college but found the best way to spin it."

Yes, I remember spending a lot of time deliberating in the common area of my school. Actually spent HOURS getting to know Sub Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Kano and the whole crew of MK 3 instead of attending those pesky classes. It was only after missing so many of my classes, did I realize that I didn't actually miss going to class. So I too resigned myself from higher education and accepted a very fair and reasonable contract to enter the military. Best decision I ever made, hands down. My knees, hips and back are in peak form and the medical aftercare is top notch.

    Username checks out

Didn't even get to include the wonderful opportunities afforded to me to purchase gently loved vehicles on a modest salary by truly patriotic dealerships. Or making solid, grounded decisions with peers in our government provided, on base apartment houses late into the evening. And lest we forget the wonderful counsel and support from others when making life altering choices such as marriage.

As someone who went to a large public university, I have no idea how people manage to fail out, especially if they’re not a STEM major. I spent plenty of time screwing around and partying, and I still managed to graduate with honors. You literally just have to do the work with some level of effort.

In my experience it's either a severe lack of motivation to actually want a college education and only feeling pressured to by family or society/the job market instead of wanting to, or some form of undiagnosed mental issue like ADHD or GAD, usually exacerbated by the still absolutely god awful state of college mental health services at least in the US. I even knew some guy once who had panic disorder and didn't even know it, I had to tell him that it was not at all normal or healthy to be avoiding work because he would start sweating and having heart palpitations every time he remembered had an upcoming deadline that was stressing him out.

You literally just have to do the work

Well you answered your own question.

Yeah, that’s the part that got me. Anyways, today I accepted a contract on my new phone from AT&T.

I just accepted a contract with the state penitentiary. It was an offer I couldn’t pass on

More like “I was going to fail out and opted to go this route instead of losing my scholarship next year”

If he was smart he would have gone for an academy on a scholarship

„Mr X, your country needs your particular talents, you must show the troops how to throw the ball really far, or we are all doomed” ahh post

  • I see an exciting career of handing out towels and scheduling Spin classes for this guy at the Fort Bragg gymnasium.

  • What an interesting way to spin “I’m dropping out, farewell”

I mean no hate, I too am a drop out, but you know, I didn’t try to make a brand out of it

Most likely what was going on. Wasn’t doing well academically, saw no way to remedy it, saw no off ramp after college. This was honestly probably his best option.

“After careful consideration I have decided to pause my collegiate athletic eligibility and accept a contract at my dad’s Kia dealership.”

  • he was probably going to loose his scholarship and hit em with the ole you cant fire me if i quit🤣 hes hoping for the pat tillman angle im guessing

We used to hit new people with the “so how’d you fuck up to end up here?” when they’d report to the command, because most of us were college dropouts.

I work in navy cyber so everyone is there for the TS clearance, training and tuition assistance then off to make 6 figures as a contractor 🤣 whenever i ask its always "too broke for college "

Haha nice I got conned into stg so i got fucked for future employment

    Rip bro sonar go burrrr🤣

Hello fellow STG. Don’t let sonar predict your future. I got my degree and certifications, now work from home as network engineer. Don’t give up.

My point is it gave me no civilian skills. That and gccs-m training.

    *Lose.

Eh speech to text sucks lol

How far is he willing to go on the Tillman angle?

  • So he wasn’t able to get a Ranger Regiment contract? This is a bizarre journey ahead for the guy. Hope he enjoys this moment.

Little guy has no idea how bad it can get.

He'll come to while he's scrubbing that first shitter, the ai slop background in his imagination will get dimmer and dimmer.

In 15 years this guy is all over the news for committing a war crime.

That was my second thought. The first was 'hah, fucking dork'.

  • We get it kid, you signed up. Take your mocking applause and the complimentary slap on the ass and go away

  • RIP OOP’s spine

This is extra funny to me because I'm a former college wrestler and ruined my spine :)

Sorry to hear that bud. A good spine is hard to replace,

“What am I gonna do with a spine anyways”

When I left the army, I was 2 inches shorter than when I joined, thanks to being airborne...

Yeah my buddy lost a full 3”. Joined at 6’5” left at 6’2”.

  • [deleted]

Yeah, my shithead cousin told us that the army gave him a guaranteed slot into the 82nd, he just had to go to boot camp first.

    1) He ran away from the MEPs hotel and had to be chased back down 2) He showed back up at home three weeks later saying that he’d injured his foot in some unfortunate way and “the army sent him home to recover and try again later” 3) He said these things to me, active duty at the time.

    Bitch, you pissed hot.

Thanksgiving is a great time to swap war stories with fellow patriots. What a shit head.

This will be my first holiday without my uncle around. Dude was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and got a bunch of air service medals and literally got shot out of the sky. His stories were fucking nuts. He then became a special agent for the FBI and also flew helicopters for the FBI. The fucking stories he told were bananas. My cousin was ranger regiment and I was infantry and had a combat deployment. We all had some pretty good stories to share.

But man my uncle's took the cake. I wanted to write a book about his life

Rip you’re uncle. Sounds like a hell of a guy.

Yep he was also an attorney since like every FBI agent then was. Dude did pro bono work for Vets on the side. Was such a stand up dude

I mean the injured part seems believable to me, only because it happened to me with AF basic. I’m just stupid and didn’t prepare in anyway beforehand and was terrible at running. I was thinking that all the years of skateboarding when I was younger would carry over to being able to run lol. Only to find out the years of jumping down stairs and not seeing a doctor for past injuries just did more harm than anything.

You can get guaranteed duty station Fort Bragg.

Or he could be an idiot and thinks Airborne only goes to Bragg. Which is a good chance but not a guarantee.

    It’s 50/50.

Unless I’m missing something, I don’t think there were any green berets in Mogadishu. Wasn’t it all rangers and delta with other “support staff” like night stalkers and PJs

Yeah, there were no Green Berets in Black Hawk Down. It was primarily Rangers and Delta Force.

There were green berets there, but they weren’t featured in the movie.

You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. And gothic serpent was 32 years ago lol as if that movie accurately reflects the regiment of today after 19 years of continuous deployment in gwot and being the nations premier raid force

He’s not totally wrong. Rangers are the Army’s premier direct action infantry unit and are pretty comparable to Navy Seals units. Then you have Tier 1 units like Delta Force and Seal Team Six, which are a step above Rangers and standard Navy Seals.

Green Berets have a pretty different mission set. Their role is more focused around unconventional warfare and training foreign partners. They also weren’t involved or present at the Battle of Mogadishu.

Comparable to Navy Seals? Lmao People leave Ranger Regiment to try out for selection. No one leaves group to try out for regiment.

Gothic Serpent was Rangers and CAG, not SF

  • Welp, The PT standard just got way harder. There is no way for the rest of us to keep up with this guy. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

  • Idk about yall but when someone says “the Army’s special operations unit”, the only thing that comes to mind is the unit.

  • Hes quitting being a college athlete to be a paratrooper.

I was a paratrooper because there was no college that I could've gotten into because I sucked at high school.

    We are not the same

  • Needs of the service has entered the chat

  • Yeah he got tricked. He could have gotten his degree and went in as an officer. Or, if he wanted to be a batt boy he should have gotten a ranger contract. It's hard to join a regular unit and then get released to got to RASP. Much easier to have a ranger contract when you enlist.

  • No secured Option 40? Recruiter lied to him

  • So his dream is to serve with the rangers but he didn’t go option 40? Make it make sense.

  • Poor cringey bastard. Someone in his unit’s gonna find this post and never let him forget it.

  • If you hear a faint moaning sound thats just Pete Hegseth pleasuring himself to this post.

  • Who is the announcement for? His mom and dad?

  • Crazy thing is, as a D-1 collegiate wrestler he would fly through RASP easily. Some recruiter absolutely got his ass 🤣

  • I hope they haze the soul out of him….

  • All that college and no brain

  • Taking his talents to Southwest Georgia.

  • Dude was a redshirt last year. Then this year is competing as a rs freshman. He's 0-2 so far this year in the 125 pounds weight class. So he's maybe just looking at getting cut from the team.

Good luck to him in the army, though. The post is boot, but I hope he finds what he's looking for.

  • The 82nd is about to gain another washout.

  • “Accepted a contract”

Like they pursued him, and like he negotiated it.

  • Thats such a fucking step down it's hilarious

  • Oklahoma hasn’t been in the Big XII for a couple years. I think this is AI. An insta boot bot, if you will

It probably is AI, but Oklahoma is still in the Big 12 for wrestling. The SEC doesn't sponsor it.

Oh, word. Learn something new every day.

  • "If I can't destroy my body in college athletics by god I'm going to do it jumping out of planes."

  • "I am no longer competitive enough at the collegiate level, and I only went to college to be an athlete. Instead of flunking out of college, I am going to spin it as a patriotic win."

  • Wow, such motivation for someone getting ready to wipe away the rain outside

  • Not even in basic yet and they’ve already promised him a spot in the 82nd? So impressive. He’ll be a one-star within 3 years, bet.

That’s nothing special you can enlist for a duty location.

  • Why not go straight to regiment like so many of us have done? I fondly remember walking all my shit up that hill after graduating airborne school. While most my friends were leaving for their permanent station. I wish him luck and safe travels on his journey. RLTW

Recruiter either doesn’t know about option 40 or told him whatever he needed to hear to sign on the spot

  • What a big dummy. Have fun in Venezuela.

  • Looks like som

  • AI self portrait? Bleak.

  • Can you sign up directly to the 82nd?

  • Tbh I’m proud of my guy

  • The AI image of himself isn't helping lmao

  • how old is this? OU hasn’t been big 12 for over a year

This was posted like yesterday. Guy is a wrestler.

  • Oof. Fort Bragg sounds insane. Tons of deaths and ODs
