For those applying to or who have applied to the J-school at CUNY, did you do an admissions interview ? if so, do you think it helped your application ?
I'm a graduate and yeah I had to do an interview with admissions as part of the whole application process. It wasn't much just asking about my experience in journalism, what I liked and so on. At least that's what I'm guessing is what you're referring to unless there's something new I don't know about.
it’s optional now ! i’m deciding whether or not to do it, they say it won’t hurt your application much if you don’t do it but i’m thinking might at least be good to have some name recognition ?

Yeah it should be fine. If you're not sure about your clips and experience, then you should definitely give it a shot.
