Hi everyone! I was lucky enough to visit Japan for 4 weeks last September and thought I’d share my itinerary as I had an amazing time and was very happy with the schedule I had put together!

FYI regarding the time of year, I think September is great, although the first two weeks were still quite hot (can’t imagine what August or July are like!). Prices for hotels and activities were also cheaper than many other months, so that’s a plus.

Itinerary breakdown:

Day 1-7 - Tokyo (including WBSTT + Tokyo DisneySea)

Day 8 - Kyoto (to get closer to Ine for a morning train ride the next day)

Day 9 - Ine (one of the highlights of our stay, we actually slept there and had a blast)

Day 10-14 - Kyoto (Day trip to Uji for Nintendo Museum)

Day 14-20 - Osaka (day trips to Hiroshima/Miyajima + USJ + Osaka Expo at the time)

Day 20-22 - Nagoya (for a full day at Ghibli Park)

Day 22-26 - Tokyo (day trips to Fuji and Kamakura)

Day 27 - Hakone (highly recommend a Ryokan, it was insane)

Day 28 - Tokyo to fly back home

I’d say we did the golden route + extras, I absolutely recommend Ine and Hiroshima! They’re very different but not very common for a first trip from what I’ve seen and we really enjoyed both :)

This trip felt very balanced between nature and city to us, and we never felt rushed to do anything!

Would love to answer questions if you guys have any :)
