I remember 2 years ago before the war, on Instagram reels(which is known for being quite racist), I sometimes saw Hebrew comments just like any other people across the globe and people joked around with them and I didnt really see such a hate as today except for some rabbit holes. But it all started to change in mid-late 2024.
On mainstream social media today, if people see a single bit of Hebrew or when someone says they are from Israel or a jew, people fume and attack on them for them simply existing like commenting "271k", or "free Palestine" in comments which not a single thing about politic is mentioned under the name of "Anti Zionism". People wont leave them alone. Every negative thing of the society's blame started going to the jews just like the 1930s also under the name of "Anti Zionism". All the hating rich had blended into hating the jews because they believe the jews are rich and controlling the world, also under the name of "Anti Zionism".
One thing that is a noticeable for the shift is that how more of conspiracies started to form. I remember people still saying "Bush did 9/11" before 2023 but it changed to "Bush and the Jews/Israel did 9/11". I know 9/11 being blamed for jews is not a new thing but Im saying that this has been becoming more common. Even the first victim of the attack is an Israeli, all the "absent" 4000 jews are just misinterpreted list of missing person and many Jewish people had died there. And the "dancing Israelis", the five Israeli movers were briefly detained after 9/11, investigated, and cleared of any foreknowledge or involvement the “dancing” story is a distortion.
Even the recent tragic shooting in Australia, people still spew disgusting conspiracies about that. When will all this hate calm down?
Ah ok, Im sorry for dooming and Im not even a jew but I feel bad for the Israelis which I see them a lot in my school, Im just so tired seeing all this unnecessary hate and lies being spread ever since the war, all hidden under the name of "Anti Zionism". I just want to show you my support for Israelis/Jews but sad that I cant do much. Hopefully you have a great day and Im glad you are here. It will all be fine one day

Online echo chambers will never calm down. Instagram, Twitter, by and large aren't interested, the parts that are always will be, egged on by bots
I typically avoid most subreddits these days because I know what they are but I just had to click on one thread from one of the many subreddits which emerged after 7th october(you know how they are "news" but it's all le israel bad only) which had 45k upvotes but somehow only 200 commets about the fact that the hero was a muslim , and it was about what you'd expect
not a single word about the victims or the shooters , all the commets were about how "zios" cant use this to fit their narrative because the hero is a muslim
I went on to see a video from another such subreddit(much smaller as they all really are) with about 300 upvotes , an arab saying how the hero was a muslim and how actually the shooters were found to have served in the IDF
yes they are trying to say the muslim shooters were in the IDF now
at this point this entire website is just nazism perpetuated by bots
The ones that take the time to comment are always the most extreme and most engaged, most online people. The majority just scrolls on, doesnt care. Thats why it seems that everyone is fuming but it's just the loudest ones. Those are often low educated people that react out of emotion. Could very well alo be kids. And with much content being global and with the amount of people there are, there will always be idiots. For some people the answer to anything will always be "Mossad" no matter the facts. Its conspirational thinking, and its more common among low IQs and low educated.
They are so paranoid, or even schizophrenic that how Jews are always on their head rent free and they love making them the victim of the “inferior race” jews. I mean it seems like all they can do is fuming about that Jews control every thing
That's the neat part, it won't!
Jokes aside, this has been the story of the Jews for all of history. Wherever and however we exist, we'll be hated. There will always be conspiracies, blood libels etc. unfortunately and no matter how we act, what we bring to the table, how much we try to keep to ourselves, people will always blame us for the worst tragedies and say we're behind everything.
Antisemitism is the oldest and longest surviving hatred in the world. There's nothing to do about it unfortunately. We continue regardless and push forward.
Damn man sometimes i think if I was a jew and people claim that I control everything, I would remind them that it is still I who control the world and them, and they hadnt been able to win a single war against me, and how they could do absolutely nothing about it. It would be such a great argument ✌️😭
https://www.piratewires.com/p/the-terrorist-propaganda-to-reddit-pipeline there is an active propaganda effort on reddit, you can see hidden comments from a user by going to their profile and clicking the search button and filtering by most recent, most of the people being anti semitic or spreading propaganda usually follow a pattern, low or no activity account suddenly starts posting and commenting like crazy on very specific subs, accounts usually not older than 1 or 2 years
It is an ugly combination of (neo) nazi rethoric going back decades, islamic antisemitism, european anti semitism and communist anti semitism. Its basically the most radical beliefs joined into one. They learn from each others rethoric, because it alligns with their own convictions. And you get this weird smudge of conspiracies which work in their heads because one conspiracy confirms their own conspiracy, which results in an eruption of idiocy and lies. They will gobble up any lie about israel and jews because it fits their convictions. When you see an israeli or jew as a demon, you do not research whether he or she has killed x amount of kids or is harvesting organs, you just believe it because you are already convinced that they are capable of doing so. Its how demonization works, spreading so much propaganda that all the misinformation provided fits the created narrative, and every piece of misinformation becomes the new narrative, so that in the heads of the brainwashed anything else other then this narrative sounds like absurdity. They live in an alternate reality.
Maybe the jews were true neutral all along because they get hate from both extremist sides /s
It's the new normal. Get used to it. We're going to have to take legal action against social media companies to force them to deal with antisemitism. We should also launch boycotts against their top advertisers. I don't see any other solution.
Sadly, the more you try to force people to stop being hateful, the more resentment you build up. In the U.S., at least, that move coming from the Trump administration would only spark more backlash because he uses social media to say racist things on a daily basis.
Never, ig reels has always been this way and always will be. If you´re uncomfortable with that I really suggest to stop using it. I know it´s really bad but this is the sad truth
no Im saying that it really hasnt been like this years ago especially for Israel and maybe another country that has been getting the same level of hate like India
No, it's always been like this. They just didnt feel as comfortable posting about it online and now everyone feels quite safe being mask-off about it. Jewish history is thousands of years of "and these people hated us, so we left and went here and then those people hated us so we left and went here."
I feel it would probably calm down after probably the next Israeli election when the war would truly be over and all the bots lose their ammunition and even at that. Antisemetism never goes away, it would reduce but it would take longer before it goes back to pre 2023 times.
Also, once the world moves on to the next "popular" crisis, constantly talking about Israel just won't be as "cool" as it is now, and a lot of people will just stop (no point in being rabid if it doesn't earn you brownie points)
but maybe they will still find a connection to bash on the jews with that new crisis
Certainly, antisemitism and the conspiracy theories that stem from it will never disappear from our lives, but I want to believe it won't be as rampant and mainstream as it is now with Gaza being the "trendy" issue
When the Islamic Republic is overthrown and Russia is defeated in Ukraine and collapses due to bankruptcy. Those two countries are the main instigators of antisemitism worldwide. We need to push our leaders to be more aggressive against Russia and Iran. During WW2, antisemitism didn't go down until the nazis were defeated. The same is required today.
I agree I feel like these antisemties propagandas are all made to divide the west apart and weaken us in favor of Russia, China, Iran axis
It is, and it's not just antisemitism. They're also inciting racism, separatism, isolationism and political extremism. Anything to divide people and cause chaos.
One day it will, antisemitism ebbs and flows unfortunately. Don’t let what whackjobs say on the internet affect your viewpoint of the world either.
I think this is generally true, but in the past, antisemitism was primarily driven by conservativism/right wing politics in Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East East, and the progressives served as a counterbalance. Yes, Antizionism existed as a fringe element of Marxism, but that was never mainstream for most left leaning voters. Today, Antizionism has become a mainstream position on the left in ways it has never been before. They comfort themselves by saying that Antizionism ≠ antisemitism, but when you look at the rhetoric they use, it’s very obvious that they only consider anti-Israel Jews to be “good Jews” and everyone else to be the problem. I don’t think it’s a situation where everyday people will take up arms to attack Jews everywhere, but I do think it will cause a situation where the public becomes indifferent to situations like the Bondi shooting. Like a “that’s what they get” type of mentality.
love the positivity
Well you have to be, what’s the alternative? Let these assholes win and let them drag you down?
The best thing we can do is remain positive and keep morale high
This is is a coordinated and organized effort by bad actors who are not only obsessed with Jews but want to destabilize the West. It is a weapon. Don’t engage. In fact the best thing you can do is just leave these apps - they are being hijacked to brainwash and radicalize people. Never forget that what you are being shown in those apps is not random - it is controlled by the companies. and the companies have a business model: manipulation is the product and the product can be bought by anyone. The Muslim Brotherhood, the CCP, the IRGC, or just assholes with money. Get out. For the love of god keep your children off of it.
So true. Yet they still have the audacity to say “da joos control the media and the world”, and people still FALL FOR IT. Useful idiots, literally.
Not for a while, in my opinion. Social media companies are not incentivized to stop the harassment because it boosts engagement. The media is not incentivized to tell less sensationalized stories of the war in Gaza because it boosts their viewership. I feel like I’ve driven myself mad shouting from the rooftops to Israelis in this Reddit that the PR messaging has to change immediately… Israel’s govt has refused (in my opinion) to do ANYTHING to make themselves look better to the world. People here will say “what for? They’re gonna hate us anyway”, and that is NOT TRUE. All Israel has needed to say for the last two years is that “we are committed to protecting the civilians of Gaza, we will provide free healthcare to Gazans injured in the war, we will accelerate aid to Gazans who are suffering, we will investigate and reprimand any instances of unlawful actions committed by our forces, we are heartbroken by these reports of children being harmed in this war and our hearts are with the families, we are committed to building a partnership with the Palestinian people so that we can coexist peacefully, etc etc”. Like ANYTHING whatsoever!
It wouldn’t convince everybody, of course! But the perception of Israel as completely uncaring and indifferent to the lives of Palestinians is legitimizing the rage that people feel. The argument I hear all the time in here is that, “Hamas doesn’t apologize. Hezbollah doesn’t apologize. So why should we?” . Because the world holds Israel to a much higher standard! Israel has built its reputation on being a moral, virtuous, triumphant success story in spite of the world’s cruelty. The one democratic, secular, inclusive beacon of “hope” in the region. But this war (but mainly Israel’s perceived callous attitude) is cementing a dark hatred of Israel and of Jews around the world. Of course antisemitism has always existed and it’s been mainstream before. But I think it’s ignorant and ultimately dangerous to dismiss this as “oh this always happens” “nobody will believe us anyway”.
TLDR, I think this rhetoric and violence is only going to get worse until this war is over, and Israel truly commits to supporting significant humanitarian work in Gaza. My prayers go out to the global Jewish community and to the people of Israel in these harrowing times. I truly don’t believe it’s too late to turn this narrative around. Not because everyone will listen, but because the right people will.
I agree. After Oct 7 attack, it was the best chance to turn everything against them but rather they worsened it so much. It was very disappointing
Exactly. And they could have just framed this entire war so differently. 99% of the world doesn’t even know that Palestinian forces are fighting ALONGSIDE IDF forces against Hamas… they could have said “this is not a war on Palestinians or on Arabs or on Islam, this is about Palestinians and Israelis, Jews, Muslims, and Christians alike working together to defeat an enemy that’s trying to turn us against each other…” idk. But like ANYTHING could have worked. And Israel has instead chosen to portray an image of being stone-cold killing machines. I just cannot understand that. They had all of the narrative power in their favor, and they blew it.
Israel has always been hated because this world has always had antisemites
That doesn't stop me from liking it
