I am aware that I "should" be taking collagen and a whole host of other supplements as I age - but, researching online brings up lots of products that make amazing claims but can only be bought online...and the products you can buy in most chemist's seem to do very little in comparison - so I have been undecided for too long and would like recommendations.
What collagen do you take (if you do). How has it helped. And, any other supplements that you swear by as you age.
Any recommendation on peri-menopause supplements also helpful.
Creatine has been the biggest help to me after HRT.

I have an appointment with doctor to discuss HRT. Have just done some reading up on creatine for someone with my "issues" (thyroid + autoimmune) and it seems creatine may be a better option than collagen for me so I think I'll start there.
How do you take your creatine? I have the powder but can't stand the taste of it in water even though its supposed to be tasteless!
Put it in a hot drink - dissolves better and is tasteless in coffee

I take capsules every morning. I can't do powder stuff. You'll mostly see it as a powder everywhere, but there are loads of brands that do it in capsules.

I thought taking collagen orally had been debunked?
Man it's so hard to figure out what's supposed to help and what doesn't.
There's so many options and its really hard to know what's just clever marketing and what actually works.
I don't think taking collagen orally has been debunked - but women seem to respond to it very differently depending on hormone levels, and thyroid or inflammation issues. So something that works for one person might not be great for someone else.
I wish there was an easy way to figure out what works without just trying lots of different things until you happen upon it!!
Also depends what you are taking it for skin, joints, tendons, nails etc. Different evidence for different use cases / purposes

I've been using Key collagen on and off for a year. I do find it helps, could be in my head though. But it is expensive, like 130 for 3 months. I used promo codes to bring it down to 100ish but still
