The day finally arrived when Rome decided to attack me. They've made no progress towards their war goal and the only reason the war score is in their favour is because they keep beating my dumb ally's tiny stacks.

However, the 'enforce white peace' option doesn't seem to work. I think there is a known bug. So at this point I guess I can painstakingly spend 50 years unseiging everything, whilst fending off the doomstacks, but I wanted to kknow if there is another way around this?

Is there a consol command or something that can resolve this.

As a side note, it's kind of annoying, becuase it seems that no matter what you do, Rome doesn't feel the need to accept any kind of peace even when you are winning (even if only slightly).

Thanks!

  • I concur, one of the biggest problems of the AI is that they never consolidate their strength with allied armies. Instead running around like chickens with their heads cut off due to their own stupidity. I heard a bit ago that a big reason for this behavior is that they can only see armies belonging to themselves and their enemies, their own allies, last I checked, are literally invisible to them.

It is very frustrating. I tried my damn best to stop Macedonia getting swallowed up by the Romans, and it could have been done but, they were just dumb and then would give up everythng in the peace.

It's even worse because YOU'RE THE WAR LEADER!

YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE TO DECIDE THE PEACE TERMS!

I always wondered why you can't give ANY instructions to war allies, when even eu4 has that feature. So annoying. Just got that almost useless army automation instead.

  • This is pretty historically accurate though, that Romans just never accepted peace unless it was in their favour. Also the bit about them going after your allies. Just ask the Carthaginians.

These are good points, to be fair. However, from a gameplay point of view the enforce white peace is broken, and it's clearly a stalemate.

Can’t say I disagree with you. I particularly hate it when my tiny allies just give up while I’m winning battles and annihilating the main enemy force.

I think that's the part that is most annoying. If AI Macedonia concentrated it's forces as well as AI Rome, they'd have a pretty good chance - one of their wars I even helped them take some territory back, so Rome is not unbeatable. But it most comes down to me just burning up my manpower marching all over the Balkans, then suddenly Macedonia gives away half of Greece even though they've occupied most of the Dalmatian coast or something.

In the end I used the console to force a peace. It might be easier to fight them alone next time!
