  • "Well, I'm glad you asked. Yes, a semi-automatic firearm can fire a round even if the magazine is removed. Thank you for the enquiry!"

It’s actually stupid that I’ve seen multiple people do this crap. Brother in law pointed it at his skull and it didn’t fire but he pulled it again and it fired a bullet. Straight between my pregnant stomach and his wives car!!! Idiots!

It's crazy to me how many people don't understand how a cartridge moves through the gun, and that removing the magazine doesn't remove the one in the chamber. It's like the first thing I learned when I took firearm safety classes, and in my CCW class. I have a gun (Ruger RXM) that literally has a warning molded into the gun that says "pistol will fire with magazine removed". It's so common they had to put a warning on some guns about it

America used to treat guns much different. Almost all young kids learned gun safety and had guns in the home. Schools had archery and shooting classes. People drove to school with their rifles in their cars and trucks and it was not a big deal. Teaching all kids gun safety would be a great way to cut back on these kinds of things.

literally has a warning molded into the gun that says "pistol will fire with magazine removed"

I hate that. Spoils the looks. I've got a few with read manual before use on the slide 🙄. I understand lawyers need to make a living, but if you have to warn someone the end with the big hole expels a bullet, you've already lost.

that literally has a warning molded into the gun that says "pistol will fire with magazine removed".

That pisses off the idiots though. It’s part of the “culture”.

I hope you stopped associating with him entirely

I’d refuse to ever go near him again no matter what lol

    It's a family shrubbery.

A guy I went to school with had a big brother who let his friend mess with an 'unloaded' gun but there was a bullet in the chamber.

I was friends with someone who was killed because of this. It was never really found out if it was intentional or not though, but the culprit never did a day in jail and is free to this day

For so long, Hollywood has shown people that ejecting the magazine makes a gun makes it useless.

Some pistols have magazine disconnects, but they're stupid and everyone hates them.

And even then, magazine disconnects can fail so that’s why you don’t rely on one to prevent a gun from discharging.

    Not all of them

Many handguns have magazine disconnects. Some police departments require them due to some statistics about cops often being killed with their own firearm. The FN Fiveseven has one, I removed it during my first range trip, not a feature I like. I don’t know about the other manufacturers that have that option, but in the Fiveseven it’s just a little upside down U shaped spring in a cavity back of the grip. It’s very simple to remove and replace.

  • “i didn’t know the gun was loaded. So, after accidentally discharging I reloaded it.”

He's putting his daddy's pistol back how he found it..... magazine in, however he forgot to chamber the home invasion round. Hopefully no one breaks in and dad thinks he's ready to rock when reaching for his piece.

There may be some words from Dad, eventually, when they discover a bullet hole in the couch and the bullet in the sofa. 🤣🤣🤣

  • and he is putting the mag??

He was playing with his Dad’s gun. He tried to leave it the way it was. If his Dad ever has to use it in a real situation though, his chamber’s going to be empty.

Not to mention the bullet hole in the floor.

  • Put more bullets in! That will help when I’m an effing idiot.

  • “How did that happen?? I showed you the bullets weren’t in the gun!”

  • Imagine having something as deadly as a gun and not knowing how to use it.

But I bet he followed the tutorial on Fortnite...

He does know how to use it, it went off!

  • Yup. Hes an idiot.

  • I thought this thing was California compliant 🤷‍♀️

  • "Come here son, i want to show you something. Thise is the new gun-safe. Here is the opening code, just in case you need it to defend the house against some (+racial/social sterotype+)Idiot".

The reaccuring problem i see with this sub, people dont reflect on what they are and if they should, under that pre-text, be handling deadly weapons.

  • In a ccw course I heard about a soldier in Iraq playing stupid. Racked back to eject the chambered round, dropped the clip, then put the gun in his mouth and blew his brains out. I’m guessing he didn’t live long enough to realize his mistake. Order of operation matters.

  • His wall bares witness to his idiocracy.

  • Proceeds to load the fucking magazine back in instead of just putting the WEAPON down.

  • And now you need to run to the pet store and try and find a Hamster that looks like the one you used to own…

  • How is it possible for somebody to look so British ?

  • I am laughing so hard at the dumbfounded expression this idiot has after negligently discharging his firearm.

  • How the hell did the trigger reset with the mag out and the round in the chamber fired?
