Maybe you could fill the tip of the blunt with shaved magnesium and flint? Then tape it to the barrel of your automatic weapon so at least 30 rounds lightly touch those materials quickly. I assume you would also have to be using steel (or something) instead of lead.
the material of the projectile wouldn't matter, the heat from combustion is what's making the barrel hot
magnesium takes quite a bit of heat to catch fire, you'd want something glowing hot, nearing 1000 degrees F
Flint itself doesn't start fires, a flint and steel works by having the sharp edge of the flint rapidly scrape off a sliver of steel that heats up due to oxidation+friction
the issue with lighting using the muzzle flash is that the flame is so short lived that it barely has time to transfer heat, and you also have a large pressure wave of high velocity air that is far more likely to knock away chunks of the blunt, if not destroy it outright. and blunts need continuous application of heat/flame as one is drawing on it to form a sustained ember
You dont need a test because logically a bullet wont light a cigarette or blunt. It travels too fast so hitting the tip would just break it. I am surprised someone can be that dense to think it needs to be tested. The only way to light it would be by using a hot barrel to light it.
Don't know if you ever noticed but bullets travel fast and try passing a cigarette through an open flame as fast and you will get the same result. It won't light.

The firearm would need to be on fire. It could work in those circumstances.
Full auto mag dump about five mags with a suppressor, then your suppressor will probably be hot enough to light a blunt on.

Mythbusters did this. They could light a match with a bullet but lighting a cig isn't possible.
