Yea and idiots these days just watch and record. Countless videos on here where injury and property damage can be avoided if people just put the phones down and help others with their mistakes or problem they might have. Everyone screws up but it’s sad when we aren’t helping each other anymore and we’re just watching, waiting and recording their catastrophe.
Surely anyone with front wheel drive can drive 35mph in slush to warn the driver. Flash lights, honk horn, wave, whatever. Anything to at least attempt to get the drivers attention.
OP, "Plow had its bucket up for over 10km , other drivers attempting to communicate with the plow driver he ignored them and kept going , until he couldn’t "
I was thinking the same thing as the person you replied to until I saw the original caption. Can’t fix stupid. Sometimes you just have to sit back and watch the show.
I imagine the driver suffered serious injuries as well. I know he wasn’t going fast but watch the front of the truck at the very end and how far up it goes
Maybe instead of idiots, they are just normal people who are capable of loose categorization instead of strict categorization. Especially when it matters just so very little.
A description or title matters so very little? 🙄 And according to what you said, maybe the driver of that truck is a normal person and lost track of the bed being up, or was unaware of a mechanical failure like ppl are capable of and not an idiot..
Hey, I know that intersection, a bunch of family members are buried at the church on the other side of the bridge, a couple cousins of mine live a few houses back. The snow can be wild at times around there.
When I lived there I always hated merging into 11 south in the snow, so many close calls because of people coming over the bridge too fast in bad weather.
Whoever’s filming is a piece of shit. In the time it took them to pull their phone up and make “content” they could’ve very easily pulled in front of them and let them know.
Not sure speeding up to pass a plow truck in slippery conditions to cut them off then have to slow down to warn them is at all safe in what appears to be a large vehicle... I can however get on board with why are you filming and driving. That's a bone head move.
he is in an old diesel truck pushing a plow against the road surface, surrounded by flashing lights on all sides in the daytime among shit weather with tunnel vision focus..
ppl tried honking and flashing lights and they didnt do shit, wonder why..
It looked like they were stopping to lower it for the bridge. It was just mildly interesting that they had it up to get the rest of the salt out. Then the dumbass gunned it into the bridge.
Nah the plow truck kinda slowed down at first, my first thought was that he knew what was going on. Then he just takes off at the bridge like it owes him money. I’m not sure I would have thought to get in front of him either, even if it was safe to.
This.
The system that can control the plow also is used to lower/raise the box. It's summer mode and winter. He could have thought he was operating the plow but the box went up. Still driver error, mistakes do happen, but help a guy out. He's not going fast, get in front of him and stop instead of filming like a clown
As a truck driver myself, this is about the single dumbest fucking thing i've seen in a while.
To anyone reading, DO NOT get in front of any class 7-8 vehicle to stop it, if the driver is distracted in the slightest you are playing with YOUR life. Dont play heroes with vehicles that can pancake your ass and not feel it. If honking and flashing your lights done work, it's not your problem.
Jeez, as if truck drivers weren't paranoid enough now, we got people giving stupid advice like this.
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.
The driver ignored all warnings.
The last 4 vehicles Ive encountered driving at night with no lights on entirely ignored every attempt I made to get their attention, its almost like idiots driving around with their head up their ass are oblivious to the world around them.. you make it sound easier than it is.
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.

I really don't get it why people don't prevent or atleast try to prevent something bad from happening. It is not like that the person recording this got famous or anything else. But I guess we live in a time when recording something is far more amusing and rewarding than acting. It is just sad it has come to this.
I’m not going to drive up there and possibly have my own vehicle get damaged. I highly encourage people who feel like shit is going to go around back off, just as this guy did
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.
The driver ignored all warnings.
So people didn't read the original post where it stated that people had been trying to get the driver's attention for the last 10 km before the bridge, and he ignored them all?
Then you get in front of him and stop him or call the police. You get in front and slowly begin to slow down (don't hop in front and slam on your brakes, don't be a moron) until you come to a stop and he will do the same. If he starts acting crazy, get out of there, at least you made an attempt.
They subcontract much of the stuff out, sometimes to individuals . You can bid on such a route yourself. I was in the business but stuck too commercial plowing in Southern New Hampshire. It can definitely be "your"truck. Guys that have a truck tri axle etc or two that do excavation or asphalt all summer long rely on some sort of transport or snow plowing to make it through the winter. The plow setup and wing plow just comes on and off. Everybody has their own gig.. The town's higher out as well, they don't do it all themselves
Ah, good point. Everywhere I've lived (midwest, pac northwest, norcal), those trucks are so expensive, I only saw state equipment. This incident is in Ontario.
I turned the sound up thinking maybe, just maybe, the car filming it would at least blast their horn a few times or flash their high beams to try to warn the truck.
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.

There was a guy in our town who drove under a bridge with his box up and he didn't have a seat belt. Flew out the windshield. He passed away. Man was in his early 60s. Biggest fear of mine as a dump truck driver.
I'll never understand why people see a vehicle about to have an incident and block the road and think "yeah let me just sit behind it so it wrecks and now blocks my path" when there's a clear option to pass where the road is about to be blocked.
You know.. this is actually the one situation where I could understand that, even tho I probably would have passed it the moment it stopped knowing it was going to block the road like that but then we know what happened so maybe it'd be different without the future knowledge of knowing the truck will wreck under the bridge
Different strokes for different folks. Id be slamming the horn and driving like a demon. Sometimes people make mistakes, i try to help out instead of filming it for internet points
Well, he got the last of the salt to the back of the box.
Ah for shit sakes I came to say this. I’ll upvote you, but just know I’m not happy about it
Same. But what a dumbass.
It’s their cake day, you leave them alone!!!1! :)
Beat me to it lmao
Damn, being hilarious on your cake day? Wish I had 2 upvotes. Cheers
What’s worse is that he stopped before the bridge then just sent it
Right? It's like he was thinking about it, convinced himself that the bed was down and then gunned it
I can just hear him in the cab
Lifts box. "What the hell is this stupid car driving behind me doing!? Pass. PASS! ...idiot. Alright I'll goo!" Forgets box is in air
The train wreck you see coming from a long way off.
Yea and idiots these days just watch and record. I actually didn't. I was more focused on the driver's distance than the truck.
I imagine the driver suffered serious injuries as well. I know he wasn’t going fast but watch the front of the truck at the very end and how far up it goes
Too bad cam car didnt honk and flash lights instead of gawking....
Caption from the original post:
“Plow had its bucket up for over 10km, other drivers attempting to communicate with the plow driver he ignored them and kept going, until he couldn't”
"What's that idiot honking behind me just overtake goddammit"
The truck was partially over the line and in the left hand lane
Never overtake a plow, or you might end up in the ditch -- if you're lucky.
Definitely an idiot, but what's the idiot towing?
The line
Go to idiotshauling things and report back
They might see some tumble weeds over there
r/IdiotsHaulingTumbleWeeds ?
I meant that it is a dead sub. Like a dead town, the only thing active is tumbleweeds blowing through town. It was meant to be humourus.
I know. Making a dumb joke.
🤦♂️ oops.
I did see the other week on a windy highway: multiple trucks with tumbleweeds stuck in their bull bars. That was kind of funny to see.
I don't know about tumble weeds. But I bet it shook the Cobb webs loose.
Right? The posters have become idiots themselves.
Maybe instead of idiots, they are just normal people who are capable of loose categorization instead of strict categorization. Especially when it matters just so very little.

Me, watching the truck:
no, he isn't gonna hit the bridge. He's not a moron. He'll lower the box
He was, in fact, a moron.
When he was slowing down, I thought the same thing.
Probably on his phone ….. just my .02 worth
Did you tell him he can’t park there?
Bridges freeze before roads so he’s just trying to be efficient with the salt
Well there is that!
Whoops..
Hey, I know that intersection, a bunch of family members are buried at the church on the other side of the bridge, a couple cousins of mine live a few houses back. The snow can be wild at times around there.

That dudes gonna have a headache for a while
I can't stop watching this. ha ha ha
The way he stopped first. Like, "Huh, an overpass. Fuckin' SEND IT!"
Whoever’s filming is a piece of shit. In the time it took them to pull their phone up and make “content” they could’ve very easily pulled in front of them and let them know.

True, but he could at least have tried honking and flashing his lights.

ppl tried honking and flashing lights and they didnt do shit, wonder why..
So you didn't read the original post either, where it was mentioned that many other people tried and the driver ignored them?
Drivers oblivious to the world around them are nearly impossible to get their attention for some reason..

Plenty of time to put the phone down and help

Agreed

Jeez, as if truck drivers weren't paranoid enough now, we got people giving stupid advice like this.
Just a guy who has driven in snow for years here.
I can’t believe someone suggested getting in front of a plow, especially with snow on the roads. It’s a death wish.
All I said was put your phone down and try to help. Did I say risk your life to get in front of the truck? You need to get off Reddit buddy.
100% photographer error... reddit karma > saving a life.
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.
The driver ignored all warnings.
Honk or drive around and signal, flash your lights, literally anything.
The last 4 vehicles Ive encountered driving at night with no lights on entirely ignored every attempt I made to get their attention, its almost like idiots driving around with their head up their ass are oblivious to the world around them.. you make it sound easier than it is.
He knows his dump is up. He’s salting the road. Problem is, he doesn’t recognize how much clearance he has
True
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.
The driver ignored all warnings.
It's wayyy too icy to make any risky moves like that. I'd rather this happen from a distance than be caught up in the crash.
The best thing they could do is signal and honk (which they and many others probably did prior to this video)
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.
The driver ignored all warnings.
Maybe go read the original post where they clearly stated people tried.
I really don't get it why people don't prevent or atleast try to prevent something bad from happening. It is not like that the person recording this got famous or anything else. But I guess we live in a time when recording something is far more amusing and rewarding than acting. It is just sad it has come to this.
Because they don't see how it affects them in any way.
I’m not going to drive up there and possibly have my own vehicle get damaged. I highly encourage people who feel like shit is going to go around back off, just as this guy did
Exactly my thoughts! No way I would have let the poor driver do that without at least trying to get his attention.
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.
The driver ignored all warnings.
That’s a little different then.
That’s a horse of a different color. 😂
BUT MA INTERNET FAME (all 15 s3conds of it)
So people didn't read the original post where it stated that people had been trying to get the driver's attention for the last 10 km before the bridge, and he ignored them all?

Now that will not just buff out
"Oopsies!"
Yeah don’t feel bad. I am giving a wide birth to that. I’m not driving up under to get possibly injured by the driver’s actions. So yeah, I’ll film it
Time to look for a new job ....
"ohhhh that's what they were talking about"
Oh that was nasty and he is such an idiot. I wonder if it's his truck or who he is plowing for or was plowing for
That's a state highway class plow, plowing a major city or state road. Def. not "his", it's "our" truck he destroyed.
They subcontract much of the stuff out, sometimes to individuals . You can bid on such a route yourself. I was in the business but stuck too commercial plowing in Southern New Hampshire. At least the salt is at the tailgate now 🤷🏻♂️
I turned the sound up thinking maybe, just maybe, the car filming it would at least blast their horn a few times or flash their high beams to try to warn the truck.
Nowadays it seems to be more important to film than save a mans life.
It's wild to me people drive with that up. These videos show up all the time. How do you not look in your mirrors?
Film and follow that’s really helpful.
I’d be enraged if that was the case as well.
The Original post stated that it was up for over 10 km and multiple warnings were made by other drivers with flashing lights and signals and one guy attempted to pull close.
The driver ignored all warnings.
Another unqualified so called professional hard at work adjusting road infrastructure! 🫢
He was trained on how to do that
Talk about a salt shaker
I woulda have been on the horn despite the previous warning attempts mentioned
He got snow all over the road, now another plow has to come
Do whuat? - Zeke, like every episode.
............
Seriously dude? I distinctly yelled "Put the bed down!" at least seven times!
There was a guy in our town who drove under a bridge with his box up and he didn't have a seat belt. Flew out the windshield. He passed away. Man was in his early 60s. Biggest fear of mine as a dump truck driver.
Why did you just let that happen
r/donthelpjustfilm
Seems like the guy filming could have honked to try to alert the truck driver
Drunk
The air brakes work good.
I don’t know how you don’t know the dump is up,
I'll never understand why people see a vehicle about to have an incident and block the road and think "yeah let me just sit behind it so it wrecks and now blocks my path" when there's a clear option to pass where the road is about to be blocked.
Idk, I was trained to never pass a snowplow, I would have done the exact same thing as cammer.
You know.. this is actually the one situation where I could understand that, even tho I probably would have passed it the moment it stopped knowing it was going to block the road like that but then we know what happened so maybe it'd be different without the future knowledge of knowing the truck will wreck under the bridge

I dont want to be judgmental but to that camera mf....fuck u looser for not letting him know /try to stop him or help...
Cam car did nothing so bad that they’re practically complicit. What a dope
And what cam car was supposed to do was…?
With all that time and space? I guess they weren’t paying attention either. They should have maintained their numb complacency I guess
Seriously, what are you saying they should do? Genuinely curious!
Is the cameraman mute?
I would have exclaimed a thing or two. Perhaps punctuated with expletives that only see daylight once or twice per year.
No one was slamming the horn?
See the original original posting. People tried over 10km to warn the driver.
"And it was at this moment that he realized: he f'ed up..."
Don't help just film
Read the original post. Many people tried to get the driver's attention, but he ignored them.
Is your horn broken?
