I very much appreciated this finale. It wasn't too crazy, but they did a great job wrapping up the three-episode arc for TGB and the season.
Sam (Samantha...also is that whole thing a joke written by Rob about his name change 😭)...I did NOT expect Frank to choose her and have an emotional moment.
And what a touching tribute to Lynne. R.I.P. 🥹

Loved her so much on Kimmy Schmidt. I think she can bring a lot to IASIP with her style, as she's really good at acting completely unhinged.
Haha, yeah it has to be! Although she responded at the end when Frank called her by her full name so maybe Rob will change his name back now. lol

That tribute at the end was perfect... She was included in the finale this time ❤️

Her last ever onscreen performance being entirely about what a slut her character was is SO iconic and hilarious.

How do you think they'll tie it in with Charlie? Will she die in the show, or will they just write around it? I'm interested to see how they handle it.

I think they might have known that Lynne was going to pass, that she had such a special role in the season finale that seemed to emphasize her character’s sweet yet slutty nature. RIP to a legendary comedy actress
It was number 6 in the episode production based on the end credits, so I'm guessing they shifted the order to be able to end the season with the tribute to her, which was very well done.

And it was a fantastic finale to one of their best seasons, an incredible feat considering I started watching this show literally 20 years ago....
Fans should gladly take 8 episode seasons if they are able to deliver higher quality like this season, the alternative is no more sunny....

If they can do 8 episodes like this every 1.5 years we should all be incredibly grateful

Honestly, Seasons 13–17 feel short, yet there seems to be a huge gap between them. Season 13 and 14 feels like one season with 20 episodes. The same quality writing, lighting, and Jacked Mac. Season 15 feels like the Ireland special. And finally, Season 16 and 17 are back to the normal, but it’s just 8 episodes.
It’s cool we still get new episodes, though lol.
I mean, the actors are getting older. The episode 'Waiting for Big Mo(ney) S14' was their direct meta commentary on how they feel about the show running for so long, and the burnout that comes with it.
i was just telling my fiance i wish they did the abbott crossover as a separate “special” or something for both shows. i don’t mind abbott, just would have wanted another…regular sunny episode

The Golden Bachelor gets exactly like that sometimes. It's wildly wholesome and you don't get any of the toxic, childish crap that you get with the younger casts.
Well except you did have Jerry ending up being kind of a douche and then whatever the recent guy was complaining about the cast being too old 😂

It was also the actual mansion used on the show. The live reunion set was either the actual one or an exact replica.

It is the real host, the real sets, and amazing sendups of the usual cliches. It was perfection.
Watched almost the entire golden bachelor only for this episode.

I really enjoyed Charlie’s crash out when she showed up at dinner.
I lost it when Charlie said "I have to deal with two sluts and now a third" while pointing at Bonnie 😭😭

I love that they're still dressed exactly as they were during the final dinner rehearsal.
They also say the exact same lines, until Charlie goes off script with the jealousy 😂
That was by far the best part of the episode, I had to re-watch it 3 times.
Dennis clearly understands how to dress the gang. Dee has honestly never looked better.
All that effort, and then instantly cuts to him saying Disney will never air this.
Also Dennis being frustrated with the chair that Mac broke doing a backflip was amazing.

That and her gag both then and later in the dinner was great.
The way she kept making eye contact with the camera when she did that....she was waiting for the reaction.

I thought you might be wrong with Making Dennis Reynolds a Murderer, but I checked, and you might be right.
I always liked the detail that Frank often calls Dee "Deandra".
Samantha's speech about her name made me realize Frank might be a good fit for her.

I will say, this was a solid eight-episode run. I know some folks weren't as big on the Abbott Elementary crossover, but I personally enjoyed and can't point to a low point in the season. Whether it was Frank cake, the return of the lawyer, the trip to the dog track, those wonderful dinner rehearsals, and the fact that the last three episodes connected to one another- it was a good watch throughout and it's sad that it's already over. But it was a fun ride from start to finish.
EMT episode is an all time classic
The POV of Mac's shitty salsa dance over the guy in the gurney was the highlight of this whole season for me. I couldn't stop laughing my ass off.

I feel like most people that didn't like the crossover didn't see the Abbott Elementary episode crossover. While the Always Sunny crossover episode did mostly stand on its own, one really needs to watch the initial Abbott Elementary episode to fully appreciate the subversiveness the gang, which undermined most of the positive progress the former had (such as Charlie's reading).

I went from laughing my gut out at episode, to crying my eyes out at the final video reel of her.
I was even already crying at Frank’s love story, which is not a thing I ever expected, and then the tribute really opened the faucets.
(That said, it’s been a stressful month 🤷🏻♀️)

Maybe they will just not bring her up again? They would probably not want to do anything too out there out of respect for the actress.
This is the right answer. This show has gone 2 seasons without Bonnie before and it has possibly one season left, Bonnie isn’t essential enough of a character to need to explain her absence. They’ll retire the character after this loving tribute and that’ll be that. I’m curious how and if they’ll use Mrs Mac solo after this though
I hope not, maybe they’ll just have Charlie on the phone with her instead

The first two are in character and beautiful. This one was the cast showing how tight they are and how much a person meant to them.

Wonderful season
The Frank scenes were decent but the ones with the gang were bizarre. The weird cut to explaining the elephant toothpaste explanation seemed like it was filmed at the last second and the scene of them talking in the stands was awful.
Still in the top half of this season thanks to some Frank one-liners.
