My wife loves her large water bottle that she brings to the hospital for work. The less refilling there the better due to cleanliness issues. We have a water dispenser from our fridge but she has to stand there and angle it and it takes forever since it is a 40oz. I was thinking of getting a high flow dispenser to solve it but realized I don’t want to purchase 5 gallon water bottles or refill the reservoir on the thing constantly.
Does anyone have any recommendations for me? A high flow, bottomless dispenser I guess with good filtration. It will only require cold water. Or should I do something else? I don’t want to break the bank but I understand water is life and I want to make my wife happy. If somebody has a better or different solution I am all ears.
Is getting a filtered pitcher something that would work?
Any bottomless dispenser will be something you have to plumb into the cold water line, and it likely won't be any faster than the fridge dispenser because household units are generally connected with a 1/4" hose, the same as fridges.
An undersink filter would work. But to get around the flow issue mentioned above, you'd have to either get multiple units and attach each one to the cold water line separately but have them supply the same faucet, or look for and invest in a commercial grade unit that connects directly to the pipe and supplies water to a regular faucet.
Simplest alternative would require a bit of crafting. A single undersink filter with the 1/4" output connecting to a float valve in a gallon or few tank that has a faucet at the bottom to get water from. Tank fills up, quick filling of the bottle from the faucet at the bottom, then afterwards the tank can refill over the next 5 or whatever mins. But the water won't stay cold unless you take this further and have the tank inside a fridge, which would require drilling a hole through it for the hose to the tank.
