A woman I knew when she was a kid (she is in her late 20s now) has a son who has had more than a dozen cancer surgeries. One of the Detroit Tigers visits him in the hospital all the time when he is there. He has thrown out a first pitch at Tiger Stadium. Tons of really cool people have rallied around him but he now has two more spots and might need more procedures. It's so fucking unfair and my heart just breaks for her. It's awful and makes me so irrationally angry, especially when I see pieces of shit not taking proper care of their children. I am just done with selfish parents. Meanwhile, you've got parents who spend half their time in a children's hospital. What they wouldn't give for a healthy child.
I hope I don’t get downvoted for saying this but your comment is why I’m agnostic. Why the fuck would I believe in a god when kids go through this and evil people don’t? If there is a god doing that then I want nothing to do with them.
I've been sitting in hospital for 6 weeks with my newborn daughter and this made me burst into tears.. she's obviously too young to enjoy them but there are lots of entertainers here for kids and it really brightens their day. Hell it brightens my day as an adult.
Some clown doctors followed me down the hallway the other day loudly whispering about my "beautiful" beard and when I turned around hid hilariously behind a pillar and told each other to shush very loudly.
They were there for you too, and I’m glad for those humans that they gave their time to give you some joy. A small moment of two adults being silly just to give a parent that is stressed and tired a stupid eye-roll-smile. Sometimes, humanity is beautiful. I’m thinking of your sweet baby and rooting them on.
When asked what he would say to God if he happened to get to the pearly gates, Fry, a declared atheist, didn’t miss a beat. “I’ll say, ‘Bone cancer in children? What’s that about? How dare you? How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault’.”
He continued, “Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?”
I'd say that more generally it's hard (as a Christian myself) to explain these things, and it's totally valid to be angry at God. God can handle our anger.
Keep hitting me with your atheistic 0815 questions. Please start inventing some more because always asking the same questions seems to be quiet embarassing for you atheists.
You are only yapping and not seeking a real answer, what most atheists do. But I know that God is helping.
I genuinely want to know the answer to their question. Why doesn’t god help someone like the kid in this video? And please don’t say “he needed an angel/wanted this kid’s suffering to be a message.” That answer doesn’t suffice.
Interesting. The entity that creates the tree of knowledge, makes up the rules about it, places it in the same location, and has the ability to know the future is completely immune to any accountability.
Brayan looks to be healthy and happy and is now 9 years old. He has a little sister now. His family share updates and it's wonderful to see him looking so much better.
His mom is called Francesca Cantello, and she posts publicly on Facebook and Instagram. It's all in Italian. Please be kind if you visit her page. Bear in mind multiple transplants and constant chemo have robbed Brayan of normal development but all things considered he's doing well
My hometown team Viking FK just won the league for the first time in 34 years. The whole city was ecstatic and in heaven. While 40 000 fans were waiting for them to arrive in the city square they decided to first visit the hospital to celebrate with the kids that couldn't make it to the match. It wasn't planned or anything like that. I love Viking so much. I love that my club does and thinks about stuff like that.
It was heartwarming to hear it mentioned in local podcasts where people started to get emotional over that act of kindness.
The media weren't invited to the hospital. They were on the bus with the players taking them to the city. They were told to do whatever they wanted. Stay on the bus or join us.
I also really like that the hospital staff also got to share in the celebrations even if they had to be at work.
In the weeks since we won the trophy has been on the road visiting people at their jobs and kids at school and kindergarten. It has been to church and in public places where anyone could take a picture with it. Most clubs would celebrate in the stadium and then lock the trophy in a glass cabinet where people could maybe sometimes see it. My club called it the peoples trophy and has been sharing it with the people.
On a podcast a woman that works in the gynecologist wing asked a person in the Viking marketing team if they could get a visit. They got added to the schedule. People actually have to book time now. The trophy has a 9-5 job when most clubs in the world would lock it up.
Viking won the league??? That is wild! With Bodø being the best Norwegian team internationally for some time, that's really impressive. Congratulations from a fellow Scandinavian.
Do you get Champions League next year or qualifications for it?
We are in the Champions League playoff. So we are two games from potentially meeting the european power houses. If that doesn't go our way we are automatically qualified for the Europa League. So it is insane either way.
One of the best thing about winning the league this year is that we didn't win it because B/G was bad. both teams got top 10 best score of any team in the leagues history. It's just that Viking had one more point. The critics will say that we won because we didn't play euro football and B/G and Brann did, but we still got an impressive score.
Same. We only had him for a short amount of time, but he shows so much passion for the club he plays for. When he was injured he stood with the supporters and sang and he was on loan. You rarely get that from players owned by the club.
If you cosplay, local hospitals will be ecstatic to have you come down for the kids. I went with my group a bunch of times, it was a blast. It's especially hilarious if you don't coordinate beforehand: "alright kids, here come Princess Peach, Captain America, Ichigo, some kind medium-sexy Jolteon, and Link in Smash Bros alt colors!"
The kids don't care, they're having an awesome time either way.
I would not be able to hold myself to together when he grabbed the action figure and came in for a hug. I would absolutely lose it and have to go into another room and sob uncontrollably for a minimum of 15-20 minutes.
You could see it hit that guy when he drops his head down onto that little shoulder.
Mattia Villardita, you are angel among us. Bless you and your days spent here bringing light, joy, and hope.
There is so much good in the world and so much love to give, and we have to share the planet with a huge percentage of people that choose to hate and be angry every day. We really need to find a way to make the good things prevail.
I work at a hospital. Several times throughout the year a window washing company does the exterior windows of the Children’s Hospital and they dress up like Spider-Man, Batman and Superman while doing their jobs.
I had a kid in a children’s hospital and it makes you so humble to see so many parents and kids who are clearly having to be there like it’s their apartment.
I was there only a week thank god but it just drains you so much… As a parent you feel like you need to be there all the time but also the staff are usually good at reminding you “right now you have the most qualified babysitters you will ever have” and you forget to take care of yourself entirely.
If you have any skill at all that kids could like, try this stuff because god damn it lightens their day and the parents for once get to feel like their baby had a really awesome day. Something that is not always true in a children’s hospital. I still have a gut feeling when I go to hospitals from that. It’s so hard but so rewarding.
I'm so glad Spider-Man could pay Brayan a visit! Whatever this kid is fighting or going thru, I hope he makes it and has an easy time. Look at how wonderful and big his smile is. He's a bright light for the world around him, and I hate that children have to go through hardships. His little heart and soul still have much to contribute to this world, and I'm here for it. Definitely interested if someone finds a recent article or updates on this little guy.
Critical Care Comics was founded to provide an escape for kids going through a tough time. We achieve this every week by bringing comic books and toys to kids in hospitals.
Over the last decade our ability to support children and their families in the community has grown. The resources we’re able to provide now ranges from superhero visits to a nationwide scholarship for childhood cancer survivors.
I’d be crying like a little bitch in that suit knowing what this kid is going through and knowing I’m one of the soul things that is going to relieve it.
I genuinely have nothing but love and hope that the people who do things like this for kiddos live their absolute best lives and suffer no hardships for themselves. It takes an exceptional type of person to be able to maintain the character, costume, and mentality necessary to be there 100% for kiddos like this and not break down in the moment.
Tasteless joke aside this video is lovely, that kid is so happy and it makes my heart whole to see it.
It’s a cruel world but some heroes out there do the good work
My uncle did this for my brother’s bday party one year, he lived out of state so my parents kept it secret from everyone to make it a big surprise reveal after his demonstration. He’s a martial arts guy so he was doing some of that when all my brother’s little boy friends decided to bum rush him and attack him, one of them did a drop kick to his balls when he was down. He was fortunately wearing a cup but it did end the act early and the surprise got blown in an unfortunate way 😂
I hate that children even have to be in this situation, but I'm grateful for people who dedicate their time to bringing these kids smiles.
Honestly life really isn't fair and it's fucking bullshit. Stuff like this makes me just lose it. I feel so bad.
A woman I knew when she was a kid (she is in her late 20s now) has a son who has had more than a dozen cancer surgeries. The anger is completely rational. No kid should have to go through that.
I’m more upset that I see truly awful people living life care free with no consequences, while an innocent family and child are dealt with cancer.
If there is a god, they don’t gaf
I hope I don’t get downvoted for saying this but your comment is why I’m agnostic. Why the fuck would I believe in a god when kids go through this and evil people don’t? If there is a god doing that then I want nothing to do with them.
Yep. Mysterious ways and all that 🤬
"Look for the helpers"
Can't even quote Mr. Rogers without me blubbering.
Better yet, be the helper.
Yes, these people make such a huge difference to these little kids. Ugh, these videos always make me cry.
I've been sitting in hospital for 6 weeks with my newborn daughter and this made me burst into tears.. she's obviously too young to enjoy them but there are lots of entertainers here for kids and it really brightens their day. Hell it brightens my day as an adult.

It's going to be a long road but thank you for your kind words.
This is so cute 😭
I’m so lucky to have a healthy two year old, but when I see children in these situations it just breaks my heart and really makes me treasure my son
Makes me think of this exchange:
When asked what he would say to God if he happened to get to the pearly gates, Fry, a declared atheist, didn’t miss a beat. “I’ll say, ‘Bone cancer in children? What’s that about? How dare you? How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault’.”

Love Stephen Fry ❤️
Fall of Man did this. The world was perfect and without harm before sin entered the world. Say thanks to Satan, Adam and Eve
Sounds like victim-blaming to me.
I'd say that more generally it's hard (as a Christian myself) to explain these things, and it's totally valid to be angry at God. God can handle our anger.
So is god unwilling or unable to help? If he’s unable then he’s not a god. If he’s unwilling then he’s not a god that anyone should worship.
Keep hitting me with your atheistic 0815 questions. Please start inventing some more because always asking the same questions seems to be quiet embarassing for you atheists.

Are you unable or unwilling to answer the question?
I genuinely want to know the answer to their question. Why doesn’t god help someone like the kid in this video? And please don’t say “he needed an angel/wanted this kid’s suffering to be a message.” That answer doesn’t suffice.
Hey, they asked you a question, meaning you are REQUIRED to give them an answer.
Thank you for updating us! I am so glad he recovered!!
His mom also had a grueling bout with cancer not long before and she also kicked its ass, I really admire the fortitude of the whole family.
Thank you!! Now I can fully enjoy this post.
Thank you so much. I always wonder how their lives turn out. So good to hear he is doing well.
He looks great! What a strong kid
What’s his full name so we can look him up?
His mom is called Francesca Cantello, and she posts publicly on Facebook and Instagram. It's all in Italian. Please be kind if you visit her page. Bear in mind multiple transplants and constant chemo have robbed Brayan of normal development but all things considered he's doing well
with that spelling it shouldn’t be hard
First time on Reddit?
Fuck yeah
With great power comes great responsibility 💪
That's right!
People who dedicate their time to doing this truly are super heroes!

here is a link to an article about it

i'm getting, heck being emotional just reading this.

That’s so awesome! I love teams like that! I‘ll make sure I‘ll follow Viking more closely from now on. Greatings from St. Pauli!
Greatings! Do you guys love Østigård as much as we do?
I hated to see him go! So much heart! I always hoped for a return. I still do!
Same. We only had him for a short amount of time, but he shows so much passion for the club he plays for. When he was injured he stood with the supporters and sang and he was on loan. You rarely get that from players owned by the club.
Absolutely, same for us. And he never had a game where he didn’t leave his heart on the field for us. That’s really all I want in a player.
Amazing humans right there!
I hadn't planned on crying today, but here we go.
I’ll come and cry with you
Me three.
Count me in
Um, sniff, can I?
That mask would be filled with tears if that was me. What a beautiful soul.
The way he held that hug, I think it was.
That hug did me in.
Might have done Spidey in as well.
If Spidey wasn't crying when they tilted their head down I'll eat my shoes.
Agreed
He went into that hug 110%.

I think a lot of us would do the same. Including me.
Thank you for making smile fellow human. Had a bad day.
There is some goodness in world after all.

Thank you for this!
Bless this boy and this Spiderman 💙
Good man!

How awesome. Great human being there
HIM LOOKING BACK FOR HIS TOY AND HES GOT THOSE BIG GLASSES 😭😭😭 DUDE OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS
I work at a hospital. Several times throughout the year a window washing company does the exterior windows of the Children’s Hospital and they dress up like Spider-Man, Batman and Superman while doing their jobs.
New goal. Get in shape enough to be a superhero for kids…
Or show up as “fat Thor.”
Thor’s ham….burger
The world is unfair
"If there is a God, He will have to beg for my forgiveness."
A quote attributed to a Jewish concentration camp prisoner that I think about often.
Whatever Brayan is fighting against, I pray God gives him the strength of the Hulk to win.
I'd rather the doctors and scientists figure out a cure and people like Spidey here give him some joy to help him through it.
If there was a god why would they let kids get cancer and suffer unless he was a cruel monster of a being.
Bro, just keep it to yourself. Their comment isn't harming anyone and was clearly meant with kindness.
Fuck me running, that's the goddamm cutest fucking shit I've ever seen.
My small boy has those same pajamas… I’m not crying, you’re crying!
That boys sweet lil hug melted my heart. Damn near gave me tears. Oh and that pose at the end.
My heart 🥺
So happy to hear that Brayan has recovered. He’s my favourite super hero now :,)

He's an 8 years old boy called Brayan fighting leukemia in Italy. Man. I hope he beats it and lives such a good long life.
Watching them playing cards is one of the most adorable photos ever. What a good dude.
Dude spared no expense on the costume. Money well spent.
Damn onions
OMG when he goes in for the cuddle… where are those onions!
Goddammit... No onions, I'm just crying 😭😭 I hope he wins the lottery, has a big happy family, and lives to 100.
I'm so glad Spider-Man could pay Brayan a visit! Whatever this kid is fighting or going thru, I hope he makes it and has an easy time. Look at how wonderful and big his smile is. R/tragedeigh
How do you not sob in your costume all day.
I'm glad this wasn't one of those times he back flips into the room and kicks the kid in the head.
Really dusty in here. That why the tears!!
I've got something in my eye. At least Spiderman can hide his tears.
Awww you just know there were tears beneath that mask.
Disney: This is incredibly sweet, but here’s a C&D.
This child is the cutest! What a smile ❤️
He's sooo adorable I'm gonna cry 🥺😭
This hits…. Blessings to them Heal well little man
Support critical care comics
Goddamn, I need this sub.
I’d be crying like a little bitch in that suit knowing what this kid is going through and knowing I’m one of the soul things that is going to relieve it.
Who’s cutting onions?
Bless people who do this

Yet we bitch about the littlest things. We should be more grateful and see how trully blessed we are to be healthy.
He isn't called the friendly neighbourhood spiderman for no reason. It's not the friendly international spiderman.
You've clearly never been blessed by the splendor of Japanese Spider-Man.
The real heroes.
This made my day
God bless the dude doing this for the kid. God bless the kid
That's not Spiderman lil bro That's Brandon
Heart melted
Man, why you got me crying here in the middle of this cheer competition. Parents are gonna think I forgot the bow (iykyk)
Thanks, Spidy.
His little smile I can’t. Fuck. I immediately started crying
Oh, man, when Brayan walked out with his Spider-Man suit on, I lost it. Wishing the best for you, big guy!
Spider man time travelled to stop Dr Ock early.
Tasteless joke aside this video is lovely, that kid is so happy and it makes my heart whole to see it. It’s a cruel world but some heroes out there do the good work
This is why God does not exist. This sweet boy gets to enjoy his time with his hero. Only a human can provide.
Yet Pedos get to live and be billionaires
Hell ya, brother! Make it political! Bet you're a blast around other humans, eh, edge king.
❤️❤️❤️
WITH GREAT POWER THERE MUST ALSO COME GREAT RESPONSIBILITY.
So kind!
A super hero in the making. 🥲
Needed that cry, man
When I was a boy...
That hug got me. Everything for the children, great stuff
How can anyone NOT tear up from this.
The people who become these favorite characters for kids are really heroes
He looks like a bald Peter Griffin
I've never seen Brayan being spelled like that. All this time I thought it was supposed to be spelled Brian.
But yeah this video is wholesome
