Also congrats to Exp33, they openly celebrated Silksong when it came out and like Silksong are consumer friendly and put gamers first.
Hollow Knight and Silksong are so special, they have cultivated one of the biggest and most dedicated fanbases in gaming and no award show can change that.
We should all look forward to the Silksong DLC!

Any other year I'm sure silk takes it this year was so stacked... You wouldn't know COE33 swept but like at least between SS, Hades 2, E33, or Bananza would be worthy winners.
... I'm sure the other 2 are also ok I never touched them
My only «problem» with the results, is that it makes it seem like E33 was by far the best in every single aspect of gaming this year, which it wasnt. It was certanly good in almost everything and absolutely excellent in certain areas (music/narrative especially).
As a whole i certainly think e33 winning goty is correct even if I disagree personally, but it felt like the categories didnt really matter all that much (except the singular category audio design). it seemed like the judges picked the wholelistically best game from the nominees in each award rather than tailoring for the criteria of each category. Makes the show boring/predictable and downplays what the event should be about (highlighting the best from all of gaming in the calendar year).
For specific categories: - Indies award should factor in how much of an indie something is. (I think Blue Prince should win) - RPG award should solely be about RPG elements (KCD2 was imo best here) - Players voice should only be games that came out that year (Maybe i wouldnt be too mad if a gatcha that came out the same year won)
The rest im fine with due to differences in personal preference.
This is my exact same thought. Like… for me it’s not about Silksong winning more awards. Is about other gaming efforts being celebrated. This year we had very good games in general as that should be reflected in the award. E33 it’s not the only one outstanding T.T, and more importantly, the fact that it’s the favorite to win doesn’t mean it’s the best in everything.
Even if it pains me that Larkin didn’t win, I think that the music of that game deserved it. The art direction it’s debatable, because art direction it’s not the same as “the most beautiful” but I understood why it won. The RPG though… I can’t agree.
E33 is a favorite more about the impact that the story and the scenery had in the player. Is true that it introduced newcomers to RPGs. That doesn’t mean it’s the best RPG. I would even say that it’s a simpler RPG compared to other games that had more focus on that, and this is precisely the reason why it introduced other people to JRPGs.
I think the indie category should be changed. That category should be for low budget out of the box games or creative games, like blue prince.
It was incredibly boring that it won everything and doesn’t feel as outstanding. The story had a great impact on people. That is the thing it is outstanding for.
Can't wait for the dlc, I'm gonna have some real fun doing more playthroughs when it drops
