Sorry first time posting and not sure how it works
I have been searching for hours looking for an animation that looks somewhat like my drawing (it’s not Ike from south park) I found a video of it back in march on Tik tok but I’m having no look this time around. It’s really random and I have no other information to give except when it talks it’s head opens as the mouth.

Have you guys tried using Akinator? I've heard of some people using it to remember characters as a "hack". It knows some obscure characters, even from YouTube.
The color is just the color of my note app. By a hinge did you mean the mouth/head opened sideways? Like the left side was the hinge and the right would open? Something like that?
I get what you mean, yes, so exactly like your drawing where it looks as though it’s facing straight but it’s mouth opens as though it’s looking away
No I meant that the black line is its mouth and when it spoke its head opened and closed but not leading to an actual mouth opening just the top and bottom of its head opening and closing as if talking but it didn’t separate completely

Right at the moment i saw your drawing i remembered about a short film with this guy, when i saw your dog pic i was sure… 2d drawing, most light colours… (lots of white, black lines) and a rudimentary drawing animation… i can’t remember anything else a part: it was a kid, when he laughs his whole head split in 2 bc his mouth is from side to side, he is a kid/teen and for some reason i have Carl/Kyle on my head with it… hope i can help with my very little help, in curious to know the name too!! This may not be helpful in the slightest but I only remembered it because I think my dog looks like it in this photo with the same flat line he has across his chin. I know it’s bizarre as it’s a beige yellow shaped head with dot eyes and a black line for a mouth but I see such a resemblance! I know it’s probably made less sense now but that’s why I remembered it Also if any help it’s mouth is literally its head like it opens and closes when it talks

how similar of an art style is it to ike from south park? also tell your dog i love them pls
So it’s similar in the sense that the eyes are dots and the mouth is a black line straight across the face but I don’t believe it cuts the face in half. It sort of opens like a hinge when it talks and it has a completely black outline and it’s head is almost a beige/yellow colour and its limbs are almost stick figure like but it has a shaped body and head.
I’m so sorry I’m not great at descriptions as I remember the face more vividly than anything due to it looking somewhat like my dog.

Based on the color palette, it looks a lot like the thumbnail image of James Lee's Tarboy animation. For some of the characters, the mouths work similarly to how you describe.

Unfortunately not, it is very simplistic, looks pretty much how I’ve drawn it except solid colour, and it has a body and stick figure arms and legs. The red was just my quilt so I could take a photo and draw. Although I see why you thought that!

This seems so familiar to me!! After a little thinking I’m reminded of the pickles from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, with the flailing around and the head moving as it talks/makes a noise. It’s not beige/yellow but it’s what I’m reminded of the most.
