• mfs showed up, subjected us to nonstop war strider mission seeds, and then fucked off...

I want their factory glassed yesterday

We will get to Aurora Bay someday

  • Jet Brigade have somekind of new stealth tech too disapear like that unlike are Stealth Divers.

  • "You maniacs! You blew them up! Damn you! Damn you all to hell!"

  • You want to know why they showed up ? Because we didn't have eagle storm ready yet. Want to know why they left ? Because eagle storm is going to be ready soon. I have nothing the game masters but holy hell is it painfully obvious when they don't want us using basic game functions

we wouldnt even need eagle storm for the 2nd attack anyway

We don't need eagle storm for any attacks, but it feels bad seeing DSS getting used on useless enemies instead of the annoying jet brigade

To be fair, it happens literally every single time they attack.

And Eagle Storm tends to be spammed much more than Heavy Ordinance Distribution or Orbital Blockade.

I mean it’s the easiest to donate for

Why do you think the devs wouldn't want us using the eagle storm against the jet brigade?

Because it stops their invasions and pretty much guarantees a win on their first attack.

And? During an MO battle that doesn't matter? I'm not seeing the big conspiracy.

Besides, the jet brigade is back now. I'd rather assume they had a hiccup because of holidays.

The conspiracy is that the game master specifically chooses moments to attack planets when the DSS abilities are on cooldown and won’t be up in time to stop the initial attacks for the sake of pushing the story forward. Whether that’s true or just coincidence, I don’t know. I’m just answering questions.

And it was definitely just a hiccup that the jet brigade vanished for a moment, absolutely.

It's possible, as we've seen it go the other way too, when they've arranged big moments where we get a DSS ability online at a crucial moment. It's a bit beside the point that I was questioning (the question of why jet bots disappeared).

I suspect that it's just happy coincidences all around and the DSS boost system being trash. It's great when you time the boost you need when you need it, but then you will hit things like "defense ends in 12 hours and eagle storm won't be ready for approximately 2 days" like we've just had with Tarsh. Basically those just run on their own clocks invariant of what's going on in the greater galaxy.

On the flip side we've had that recent MO where we've sent DSS with Eagle Storm vs the Jet Brigade and completely stomped them. Or the whole Malevelon Creek Memorial Day campaign where after defending Vandalon IV with 5 minutes left on the clock DSS got sent to Poepli IX and Eagle Storm kicked in with less than an hour left on the clock, leading to the final battle that was supposed to take place on the creek having to take place there (and lots of DM fuckery with decreased stims and decreased reinforcements as the last ditch effort to break our defensive).

So like, great when it works but it's not something we can rely on with any degree of consistency.

Yeah it's a big issue I have with the DSS. The abilities kinda fire off haphazardly as we can't time their activation to any reasonable degree, so sometimes it feels rather obvious that the devs time the enemy movements to coincide with the DSS timers just to make it look cool.

    They are back lol

  • I guess they... had to jet.

  • Me with my suspiciously Jet Brigade Corpse shaped sample container:

  • You're surprised at the jet brigade suddenly moving far away? Thats like their whole thing

They attack the neighbor planet usually.

  • I spent the whole time donating to orbital blockable. Ngl I was fearing we were going to have a blitz to Mastia or Fenmire

Orbital Blockade is the redheaded bastard stepchild of the DSS boosts. It prevents attacks from originating from the planet the DSS is over, the issue is that we don't ever know if it ever actually triggers and oftentimes the planet we're attacking from has a connection to another enemy planet where the attack can come from instead.

The only time in recent memory where it most likely mattered was the liberation of Oshaune: We were attacking from Hellmire and at the time all the other planets Hellmire was connected to were under SE control so any counter offensive could only come from Oshaune.

  • Best subfaction in the game imo, they're so fun, one time I was trying to aim the solo silo on a distant factory strider than a single jet infantry flew infront of me blocking my shot

  • They basically got dismantled and rebuilt back up and now there invading curia

  • Also there basically the automaton airforce
