The Death Korps just got a crossover in Rust of all games, so anything is possible.
0_o ayo wut, really? Well damn, just looked into and sure enough its there
https://preview.redd.it/powuxvkon37g1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ca1651173fb1531188b4356cccee6c1144d5254
anything is possible
Fuck, even Rust has a better Krieg skin than DT
That Skin in Darktide was abysmal. Can't believe I bought that. Shit, HD did a better Krieger skin than DT, just put on the Field Chemist Helmet with the Groundbreaker Armor and you pretty much got a Kriegsman Grenadier. Now, all we need is a Semo-Auto Laser Rifle and we're good to go.
Purifier exists
I'm pretty sure it's basically the exact model as it is in darktide. At least how i saw it in the trailer.
Edit: looked up a video on the skin to get a better look and it is very different to the one in dt.
The trailer for it made the thing look identical to me i guess.
Its not the exact same. Its just that they are both based off the same thing, of course they will look similar
Jeeze that looks awesome. Looks far better than Dark Tides Death Korps skins too sadly.
https://preview.redd.it/6paapibw957g1.jpeg?width=1614&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bddd53b04a10981896ccd2e29283feaa887a39eb
I mean... they dont look that bad. Id use those.
https://preview.redd.it/jmfcp9rpe87g1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=bd6e7fb4fff0f78b7907191d33a49086c97b4a0a
Im not sure what you want me to see here.
I just see it as just being a decent outfit. Its nothing crazy sure but I think its far from bad.
Oh bugger my text didn't come through. This is the rust one and it looks waaaaay better. The DT one is missing the pipe and looks really, soft.
If we dont get one and power washing simulator does im done.
https://preview.redd.it/vfwhn2u1847g1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d39e3b06e4ba2ec13193f69fa40f07946851d82b
They also threw their armor and a trench warfare map in Darktide. Krieg peeps eating well.
Wait wut. I’m under rust arrest. Gentlemen this is the imperium manifest
Holy what? That's amazing. It would be so perfect.
https://preview.redd.it/jfwaw4nwq37g1.jpeg?width=859&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5dfd66c5dba3018d4a0d0efd76f65363f44c040
Id personally rather have the scions as a heavy armor
Could do both honestly. I has the warbond unlock, and the other has the SC store unlock. That way we can all win(I love my Kasrkin.)
Kasrkin medium (needs to be mobile), scion heavy, krieg light? Because Armageddon is mid imo
…I hear Armageddon Steel Legion slander. Chimera hit and run bitch
https://preview.redd.it/009uxe1dl57g1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f14a1113ce1c362e97fae79d0bc9b0b3ad7fe833
I like the Steel Legion……
They’re got nice trench coats and Yarrick is badass
Based af
Tempestus Scion armor would be so cool
Scions would be medium, I imagine.
I’d prefer old 3rd edition stormtroopers. Much cooler looking than the Tempestus, IMO.
I miss that “Cold War Grimdark” feel.
Cadre black would be great too
Or they could release armors that are inspired by actual WW1 Trench warfare and infantrymen.
It would be kinda neat if there was an Operation that required us to navigate portions of the map that were mostly long trenches and between a No Man's Land situation.
If I recall correctly, the original concept art for the bots had a World War I/II theme
That's what I had a feeling they were inspired by, the barbed wires, landmines, bunkers - even the decapitated heads on spikes.
It would be nice to see a change to the pace of it though. Maybe like a stealth Operation between large trenches to sabotage their infrastructure and steal sensitive information from them.
They did, yeah, as shown here
I actually kinda like that version, wonder why they switched?
Bro got down voted for nothing lol
Considering that many of the Warbonds have given gear that meets the "drip" requirements, the only real approach left is in gear, and that will arrive eventually.
My thought is that a Warbond offering in the W40K universe will eventually arrive, but will have to be custom tailored to make it lore appropriate (like the ODST Warbond did).
I approve the approach, but oppose the consideration. I'd like to let the Devs cook and develop something that makes a W40K Imperial Guardsman/Space Marine offering in the Helldivers Universe a real thing, even if it takes two Warbonds to make it so (one for the Guardsman, one for the Astartes).
Iirc, pilestedt said no space marines stuff, the limit is at the imperial guard if they did a warhammer cross over.
Yeah I think he said nothing superhuman (like Spartans too)
Elysian Drop troopers, kasrkins, tempestus scion, dkok, catachan
Easy cosmetic ideas and loadouts. Easy to fit into lore. They're just humans after all
One could argue we got the Catachans with the Viper Commando warbond.
That's fair
To be fair they are an entire size class above us We’re more likely to get a Space Marine as a stratagem support soldier, like a juggernaut
could be an exosuit astartes pattern maybe
Dreadnaught exo skin would go hard AF
Tempestus Scions
With hellgun, need me a laser that just keeps on giving
imagine a passive/booster that lets you and your team choose with what player do you respawn with when they call you in
They've said they won't add astartes
Basic Lore dump to fit into Helldivers These brave men and women are part of the ministry of expansion. Their equipment was designed for rugged and mining and reclamation from previously hostile Planets. Using state of the art lasers to cut down freedom hating structures and ministry approved incendiary explosives to destroy biohazardous areas. These brave men and women help take back what was rightfully Super Earth's to begin with.
Edit: Melta bombs burn like thermite and are anti tank but also explode into a larger AOE like the incendiary grenades
I think that having a derelict Astra militarum ship pop out of the warp full of equipment (lasgun, chain sword, plasma rifle w/ backpack, krak grenade/ melta bomb) would fit the lore of both universes. I mean the warp is a crazy enough place where a ship could travel back in time to the year 2184, stranger things have happened right?
I mean we got the perfect wormhole for just that to happen, we basically have our own eye of terror but chaos can’t come through cause no one in Super Earth knows what chaos is
For an easier option they could say the warbond is based on a "popular patriotic tabletop war simulator", worked for the halo warbond, that's based on an in universe TV show (if I'm not mistaken)
Gw are rather anal about their ip being used tho
Except for video games they hand it out like candy
So. Many. Exceedingly. Mediocre. Games.
At least the days of endless mobile slop games are over. For now
Real shame too, I swear nobody hates 40k fans more than GW. Unless of course youre buying their minis, then theyre more than happy to sell to you
Drug dealers don't often have nice things to say about their buyers.
Guess I’m guilty as charged. I do love painting my minis
GW have just split their profits by releasing DOW4 and TW40K in the same window so they jist hate money imo
They are very different games though, and will likely release at least a year apart.
DOW4 has base building and you have to build up an army during the battle.
TW40K has campaign management, probably diplomacy and you keep whatever limited units you have in an army between engagements.
I'm sure they were especially stingy about their IP when they approved it for Modern Warfare III. Y'know, the dreaded Nicki Minaj game?
Mw3 40k event was amazing. They hadn't put that much effort into an event in a long time.
Yeah, I was seriously tempted to buy everything out of there. But it was really goddamn expensive, and I'd barely use anything out of there. I'm also still mad that the Space Marine Armor was considered a Juggernaut Recon set, and not Juggernaut Proper. Couldn't use it at all in Zombies, which I mostly played.
That was actually MW2022 she released in. She just appeared in Modern Warfare 3 due to the weapons and characters carrying over.
Oh damn, that's right. In that case, the dreaded Timothee Chalamet Game.
That is just not true lol.
There are like 25 Warhammer 40k video games on Steam. Mobile games too
There is Warhammer in Rust, Call of Duty, World of Tanks, Dota and Magic the Gathering.
There is Warhammer Funko Pop! and Joytoy action figures.
Then why are there like 100 shitty WH games on Steam?
Kaskrin, Elysian drop troops, and Scions all fit in the role of the Helldivers. Id rather see them of all things.
https://preview.redd.it/av62sw3z647g1.jpeg?width=1426&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8126a49850d83fac8cb249c08af26b34690ee00a
40k good. But also
Pulse rifle would go so hard. I got to use one in laser tag at hard knocks back of the day, it was my go-to weapon.
https://i.redd.it/0ty3t2lpr47g1.gif
I’d imagine the smart gun would be just a better warrant
Indeed. One mode would be free fire and the other would be lock-on. Simple enough and the code is already there.
I’ve been dreaming of this since day 1. The pulse rifle goes so hard
Hell yeah
[deleted]
It's not incompatible at all though. Alot of the big Astra Militarum armies would be perfect in it. In fact theres already a whole Army that is similar to the Helldivers, the Elysian Drop Troops.
And they have set themselves up to fit in a lot of different things. The lore for the ODSTs in the game is that its taken from a show within the universe. All they have to do is say the same thing, throw some Helldiver skulls on it and the Warhammer stuff will fit in like a glove
Aliens Fireteam Elite already exists bro just go play that
No
None of those make sense. Let me present to you..
https://preview.redd.it/jblqho6ij47g1.png?width=207&format=png&auto=webp&s=c32226c2166e6fc462dd8b7ac00dcf8be77cde9d
ELYSIAN DROP TROOPS! THEY PREDATE ODSTS BY THREE YEARS!! HELLDIVERS BY FIFTEEN!!!!!!!!!
DKoK is the flavour of the month, Temepstus Scions are currently in production. I agree that Elysians are the correct choice, but I doubt they're likely.
Of the different flavours, Scions slot into Helldivers with the least friction.
Of course there's still lots of friction, because Helldivers already has most of the iconic 40k Guard weapons.
We already have laser pistols (laspistols), laser rifles (lasguns) and laser cannons (lascannons) in various flavours. We have flamers and plasma guns, in rifle and pistol flavours. Chainswords and power swords are melee weapons, and the Dominator is a Boltgun.
We're totally missing a Meltagun, actually, and it would fill a fun niche of "single shot heavy pen primary with a 15m ideal range."
A "heavy bolter" Dominator support weapon would kick ass.
We don't have the long-las. It would be cool to have a sniper variant of the laser weapons
Didn't pilestadt already confirm wich crossovers wouldn't happen. I thought he drew like a line in a image
And on the "ok" side was 40k with a picture of an Elysian drop trooper (guardsman with a fancy jet system for combat drops)
Armageddon Steel Legion needs more love for sure.
They're the best regiment in 40k
https://preview.redd.it/dowb54qle47g1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=53b9ba06ae0414b18f6847d529f31fb6496d0ddd
Aquillon Kill Teams also would look good
The likely method for them is to add Steel Legion and Cadians as part of the warbond and then Krieg as super store for maximum profit.
I feel like Elysian Drop Trooper and Tempestus Aquilions would kinda fit the theming better. Especially since both of those units are drop troopers (even if they’re more paratrooper coded).
10 gazillion dollars to Warhammer for a warbond.
Sacrifice the company for this, we need it arrowhead
No thank you
Gimme a Kasrkin, Steel Legion, and an Elysian Drop Troop armor sets
Weapons I need a Bolt Pistol/Long Las/Hellgun
I know the hellgun is basically the same concept as the Double edge Sickle but I can’t think of a third. Long Las would slap though
I still think a melta gun would be a better idea for a support weapon.
A Lucius-pattern MkII lasgun with bayonett please!
Me and the boys as soon as the steel legion drops
https://preview.redd.it/89zoppwtu57g1.jpeg?width=211&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2458c0e72495f6ad659b614757f6eb853b32d051
I just want a bolter or bolt pistol please.
No, the Eruptor isn't a bolter.
No, the Dominator isn't a bolter.
No, the Judge Dredd pistol (forgot it's name) is not a bolt pistol.
I don't care how you feel about them or how close you think they are or that they fire gyrojet ammo. I want a real bolter.
I love WH40K but I hope it won't ever get added to HD2. The problem is that while both of these frenchises depict our future in a satirical way, the two satires simply aren't compatible with one another. HD2's main aspect is its story which would get diluted by a crossover like this.
On one side you have the pragmatic fascist Super Earth where the main values are freedom and democracy (even if they are a mere illusion). The tech they use is simple and believable and everything has a rugged militaristic aesthetic.
On the other side there's Holy Terra where the main value is spreading a twisted and misinterpreted doctrine of an atheist who became an undead corpse god trapped in his decaying body. Nothing is pragmatic there, everything is gilded and adorned with human skulls.
I'd argue that if they really wanted to do a Warhammer crossover, they should do one with WH30K. The period when the Emperor was still alive and focused on galactic conquest. Even then I hope such a crossover won't see the light of day.
I'd love a plasma cannon. Something anti-tank with big explosive AOE would be awesome.
I would much rather see tempestus scions and Elysian drop troops than Kasrkin or Krieg. Cadia and Krieg are way over-represented in media. I do hope the make the hot-shot volley gun a backpack laser minigun. A melta bomb would also be amazing, though the thermite grenade already does what the melta bomb is supposed to do.
Honestly wasn't that excited about the odst bond (especially the armor passive). This would give me tingles.
I would love to get a heavy laspistol a pistol with high ammo with no recoil and highly accurate would be great
No offense, but while a lot of WH40K fans are cool people, a lot of them are also diarrhea people and I don't really want to remember they exist. Thank you!
We’ll never get a 40K crossover for the simple fact that their weapons work
The thing is that how we got the main gun and the backpack which we also found leaks of heavy versions of a flamethrower and a grenade launcher which looks amazing and be beautiful to see something
They already have shovels, might as well put the Krieg in there.
Could use the servants of freedom helmets and get an ok looking Maccabean janissary
I would give anything to have a 40k plasma gun in helldivers. We don't have nearly enough weapons that have the possibility of killing you as a part of its functionality.
At this point I just don't want any 40k crossover. I'm so.tored of that series being in absolutely everything after it went mainstream. I like 40k well enough, don't get me wrong, but it's just everywhere I go.
I feel like aesthetically the guard looks too different compared to the SEAF for the crossover to fit well. Now that would concern me because thats the first step into fortnite style collaborations and HD2 doesnt need that.
If I was to reach far enough to throw out my back I could see catachan style guard cosmetics and weapons but everything else would be too different.
At least with Killzone and ODST you can headcanon that they are soldiers drawn from auxiliary planets not so heavy into Super Earth's sphere of influence.
Maybe no, but a spin off game of an imperial guard squad where you have a squad of 4-8 members and (~everything~) everytime the pc dies you're a different guardsman in the squad with one less member would be interesting. But not for HD2
As a plasma weaponry enthusiastI want a heavy plasma backpack based weapon so bad
Backpack hellgun would be amazing
I'm not mad at the idea of Death Korps and Imperial Guard armor set in a warbond. However, I feel like some of the designs in the game have been edging the Adeptus Mechanicus motif for so long that the cog-boys deserve an official armor set alongside the DK and IG.
They could even say the ship had already snuck through in the illuminate invasion and has been secretively dissected by super earth scientists for weapon repurposing reasons. The other easier option could simply be that Warhammer as a tabletop game exists in universe and the warbond is based on said "popular patriotic tabletop miniature game", worked for the halo warbond. That's based on an in universe tv show (I think)
They could do part 2 of chemical agents to give us more gas masks
ii actually like this idea, just add a bolt or heavy bolt pistol, REAL CHAINSWORD & Im all in 🫡
Maccabian Janissaries, anyone? I love their design and lore, but they don’t get enough love in the WH community.
https://preview.redd.it/meprllurl87g1.jpeg?width=971&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b34ca7ae646a24f55315c06dde9f1ae0adc451f
I want the Orgyns big rock as a support weapon from darktide
I would forever Steel Legion, even if passive was garbage.
Would want an apc strategem though
I would actually pay real money to spend on a warbond instead of farming like I have since launch.
I know you're listening AH. Take my money.
Great. They opened the floodgates with a second legendary and now everybody is gonna post their personal crossover wishlist.
You're forgetting Scions Tempestus.
Well one of the reasons I like the Epoch, is that it reminds me of heavy plasma cannon..
Have Games Workshop allowed any crossovers with their IP at any time?
Edit: Apparently yes
Freaking Call of duty of all games, warzone specifically
Need to me, maybe there’s a chance in that case
If the Emperor wills it, so it shall be
They just never do crossovers in their own games basically. Otherwise if you have the $$$ then they will let you use their stuff
Depending on how you view crossover, rogue trader and darktide did swap references and items.
While I would say it is a crossover in a sense, it is still fully its own universe and doesn't water down the experience. Can at least give gw some credit for that
World of warships some time ago
Scions would be the most applicable to Helldivers tho. Hotshot Lazguns, Volleyguns, plasma/melta stratagem weapons. Power fist melee weapon?
I would love a Kasrkin or Scions, with how the Maxigun works i could totally see them doing a Hotshot Lasgun as a support weapon or hell give me a Hotshot Laspistol it would basically be a pistol Sickle to go along with the Dagger and Talon
There was a time where i'd say no shot 40k gets into helldivers, but GW seems to be open to the idea of cross overs.... so long as it makes them money
maybe a melta gun instead for strategem? close quarters anti tank with a overheating mechanic and shoots like a fire hose
My god. I love it
I'd love the Krieg patter Las Rifle being a semi Auto, high heat per shot, laser gun. Sidenote: I also wanna be able to change the color of the lasers.
Anyone have that image where Pilested drew the line on crossovers? Astra militarum was included
https://preview.redd.it/3pkne21i547g1.jpeg?width=630&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c19d3cc43cc459805b5104fa7d692054866d91a
This one?
Kinda sucks that he's not including Star Wars though I can kinda understand. I do think some of the Troopers armor looks amazing, both Clone and Storm.
The lasgun would be a cool weapon if it was accurate to 40k, because it would be the only laser weapon that doesn't use the heat mechanic
I wouldn’t mind getting a Lasgun that lets us pick it’s power level
If I’m given access to a melta gun in this game I’ll bust… all over Managed Democracy’s enemies that is.
Plasma Weapons, for when blowing your arms off with a rail gun simply takes too long
AH:we have epoch at home
If only. Right now also into darktide, so getting to play as Krieg, Armageddon or Cadian guards would be fire. Plus a backpack powered plasma gun or hotshot las would now be possible
We should get one with Guardsmen
Give me mah lasgun!!!
https://preview.redd.it/urm9r7xpk57g1.png?width=591&format=png&auto=webp&s=0287e6816db86f0b8813ab86d92e7944c303662f
As I said in a similar post the other day, the Harakoni Warhawks and Elysian drop troops would be a better fit. Plus both of them have regiments called Helldivers.
Elysian drop troops please.
There are like 15 death corps lookalike armours and helmets and now even a gun with a bayonet (2 actually).
Gimme a Long-Las and I'll be happy. I want to put a thin, burning hole in the head of an enemy from my funny little overlook.
Armor passive is too strong, but something with standing still would be cool.
If we can have 40k we can have rebels from star wars. Just look at the legends uniforms.
https://preview.redd.it/umzx6uxr867g1.jpeg?width=2155&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0d04d4f0383a74963d5068529a8fe958f2b81e4
Agree.
I see a Krieg cosmetic in my HD2, I'll throw money at Arrowhead.
I see a Krieg cosmetic in my HD2, I'll throw money at Arrowhead.
Krieg armor plus "trench shotgun", official secondary "encampment tool". Definitely need a strategem related to martyrdom. Its a warbond i could get behind.
Heacy should explode if you overheat it
Don't get me wrong, I would fucking love that armour passive, but don't you think it would be a bit too much lol? With medium armour, you would have both 200 armour rating, AND a significant reload speed buff. So it's like taking that one heavy armour with extra padding and combining it with siege ready, and getting the best of both worlds.
I want og gas mask boys the steel legion
Yes yes yes
It is an absolute crime you've omitted Tempestus Scions and Elysian Drop Troopers, which would feel right at home in a game about dropping humans from low orbit.
I want a hotshot las and las pistol so bad 😩
Cmon guys, we have the Elysian drop troopers right there!!!!
https://preview.redd.it/9w43xkaxv67g1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ad0f5b9a8841653a4b5bc1af9f7e311c4434f72
Heavy armor: Scions
Light: Elysian Drop Trooper Kit
These make a lot more sense as both are drop capable.
They make a lot more sense and I’m sick of seeing Cadia and Krieg everywhere. Maybe Heavy: Scions, Medium: Elysians, Light: Steel Legion
We need a Commissar outfit.
I was thinking that for the light armour but the parade armour kinda fit that bill. Could be a good superstore item
Have the crossover include the marine Boltgun and make it a stratagem
Didn't they say that 40k is a no? Like in that "draw the line" meme?
The Imperial Guard are in the line (no for Space Marines tho) iirc
I feel like Elysians make more sense as the light armour, seeing as they have a unit in the lore (the 13th Elysian Drop Troops) quite literally called “Helldivers”.
Its probably not going to be cadians or krieg considering Elysian Drop Troops and Tempestus Scions are just 40k's helldivers.
Am I the only one that doesn't really like crossovers as an idea? I feel like it's going to end-up pushing games in the same direction that Hollywood has pushed their movies: endless re-treads and turning everything into a franchise. It just leads to stale jokes, stale stories, recycling ideas to maximize profits until people get sick of it.
Some are much better then others, but it's fair to be wary of fortniteification.
personally these look like they'd be sick to use so I'm okay with it so far. I definitely agree we should be careful with it though
Plasma gun likely would one-shot everything if hit. Well, except Hive Lord. That's too much.
Thematically it seems they go after mostly American styled things. As such my I also suggest Mass Effect and StarCraft.
The main thing I'd change is make the Kreig trooper light and Steel Legionary medium. The standard Death Korp trooper is only issued armored shoulder pads for rank and formation insignia. The great coat provides substantial protection against chemical and environmental hazards and is thick enough to provide some protection against light shrapnel, but they are not given even flak armor.
Thats why I used Krieg Grenadier uniform. In addition to looking sick, it fits with the whole reclamation and demolition theme I thought up.
I don't even like 40k but I would jump on a krieger gear set so hard.
Give me a melta gun and I would never stop using it. Just not the "Shotgun" form I hate it with a passion.
I want a Bolt Gun so badly.
Humm arrowhead will be like Naaah 40k hivescum warbound Shive light melee Auto pistol sidegrade of starter pistol Autogun unbullup the liberator
As a Heavy main, first pic has me sold.
https://www.reddit.com/r/helldivers2/s/Beb2QOxmk9
I'd replace the shovel with a bolt pistol and make it like the Dominator or a one-handed chainsword tbh
I would rather a support weapon heavy melta. Short range beam weapon with decent AOE not like in space marine 2 but like rouge trader game. It's anti armor and decently fast firing and pens infinitely in its small range. Rips up tanks, dreadnought, titans ect.
If there is a 40K crossover I hope they don't just do a Cadian slop warbond.
Im itching for a true recreation of a 40k plasma rifle, just a big Ole murder everything blast of hot plasma with a high chance of turning you into goo also
It's not gonna happen, AH already said that.
Games workshop would never give their license to HD2 its not popular enough.
You don't want Games Workshop's legal department anywhere near Helldivers.
I believe "Death Korps" could be a title that comes out in the future ☺️
More than likely, if there were to be a 40k crossover, it would be the most recognizable guard armors/weapons, like a cadian (maybe kasrkin) and probably a commissar. Likely kantrael pattern lasgun, las pistol, bolt pistol, chainsword (1-handed), maybe a Melta gun as a support call-in.
