Actually its not, the devs have clarified multiple times that the only parts of gameplay that are cannon are mission outcomes (wins/losses) and what planets get liberated/fall.
Technically it's only not cannon if they can't realistically check the data. If it's on a video, you can sure as hell check that data. Any recorded in-game footage is canon in that regard.
But its not. Arrowhead has directly said that what youre implying is not the case. Devs can cannonize gameplay moments, but just because something happened/was recorded doesnt mean that it is cannon. It's just a popular reddit myth.
I just understood that as long as the gameplay is there, they can measure it or collect it. "really can't be" can be worked around if you sent a video directly to Arrowhead and if they accept it.
I suppose it's just semantics at this point. I understand it isn't automatically canonized in that way - but all recorded gameplay can be if you allow them to collect it in someway.
My melee strat is usually axe, ballistic shield, chainsaw, any heavy armor with 100% melee damage, crossbow, AT emplacment and the final thing is the good old ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Trivial doesn't spawn patrols until the invisible "heat" level rises through time progression or completion of main mission objective

It is slow, but powerful. Lots of stagger, and getting into a rhythm with your swings is helpful. If you like melee it is very good, imo.
