They'll kill you even after they've dropped, yesterday after I called in my suit I went to get in and immediately lost all of my health
Yeah it's pretty annoying how far away the mechs can "step" on you, but I think it just uses the same range it kills chaff at.
I would certainly rather deal with the occasional dumb death than have to physically step on every rat the bugs throw at me lol.
