There are ten armors with engineering kit, eight fortified, and seven servo assisted so its really not that crazy. I think you just notice because they all look so similar.
I think you just notice because they all look so similar.
Which, again, begs the question of why there are so many. There's the same-colored ugly ones that only make sense to wear if you're outright role-playing a medic, and then the TR-117.
if the stim pistol tracked or something i know a lot of people that would be happy to play medic but it is incredibly difficult while having only a moderate payout
If you want to play support, take croud control, or team reload for a player with an ammo backpack. Honestly just play a different game where that's a roll. Given how solo queue randoms don't use mics and work together about as well as untrained sheep dogs herding cats while a single helldiver can be one shot through heavy armor and a shield, the only meaningful way to provide support is through fire support. Maybe let off shift so someone in heavyer armor can keep up. Honestly, the only reason to take the stim pistol is if you don't need your secondary for anything anyway and can at least top some one off without them needing to waste a stimp. You simply can't out heal being run over by a charger or getting shot by a tank.
The trouble is, I want a medic who gives me stims for later, not uses them on me, so the only useful medic kit is Supply Pack.
I need a stim during the 3 seconds after Iām ragdolled into a wall, but before they hit me again. Thereās no way for a player to intervene, Iād rather they just shot.
Now if they introduced resurrecting divers whose bodies were still in one piece with a stim, that would be medic gameplay!
There's actually an interview out there where they pretty much said they threw the stim pistol in as a "You think you want this, but you don't. The game's not made for a 'medic' role and trying to use this thing we're finally adding will show you why". Of course, sabotaging it with awful sway kind of undermines that, but even without it, Helldivers are just too squishy for a healer role to work.
Medic Armor is primarily for personal survivability, not support.
Itās such a strange decision, āYou think you want this, but you donāt,ā all that happens is the pistol is dust collector that is worthless, pointless, and utterly useless in any real sense.
You donāt have to be a full medic to provide support for your team in a team based game, I know you can but playing a single match reveals how horrible it is in every stats expect heal.
That's because AH is obsessed with making the game a silly movie-grunt simulator where you die in ridiculous ways and nothing works right. It doesn't matter that the experience of using shit, barely-functioning weapons is terrible, it fits the setting's lore and theme and that is what they prioritize first and foremost.
You trying to hit a bleeding teammate with the stim pistol, missing 4 times, and finally landing one just for an enemy to immediately do 80% of their health and killing them in one hit is so everything was wasted is exactly what they want.
I think something to consider would be to give medic armor an additional benefit focused on healing others, like a 50% chance to not use up a stim when healing a critically injured teammate. Playstyles wouldnāt change much, but now thereās some extra incentive to play into a medic role.
This so much. I was just looking at how I have so many fortified heavy armors and realized "Hey, I have fashion choices depending on where I fight the bots!". It sucks that, for example, all siege ready is urban flavored so I look wierd rubbing around in the jungle.
But to have all these variants and they all basically look the same? Meh. I guess I'll just keep wearing T117 Alpha Commander
That's a good thing in my eyes, medics are supposed to be easily recognizable and the stronger uniformity is something I sorely miss from the first game
Sure...except that at +2 extra stims, it's not much of a medic build. And the extra 2s of stims effect applies o ly to the wearer.
Real medical have Stim guns ..
I think it's more for getting from 3 to 5 thermite, which is very useful to demolition engineers that rely on grenades.
I have never found the perk that attractive TBO. If I want to a of grenades, I would equip a supply backpack.
I run nothing but these and stim pistol with infusion, and only been tk'd once suprisingly for thinking i just shot them (they dont understand health goes up not down ig?)
Unlocks include heal grenades, a support weapon that shoots a healing beam, a support weapon that creates a healing field, and a strategem healing turret. Maybe the standard white and green medic skin for vehicles and pods.
When the game was released, AH initially planned the armors to have unique stats but stop doing it after the three premium warbonds. Some of those armors with unique stats was changed and turn back to normal (CE-74 light engineer armor was one of them). As of today, only five armors have unique stats within their armor passive, 4 of them are light armors (CE-67, CM-21, CE-07, SC-34, B-24).
For the medics armors :
Two were available on the Helldiver Mobilize warbond with the same stats (CM-09, CM-14) .
They released one light armor for the superstore with unique stats on day one (CM-21).
They release the Heavy armor on the superstore with the Cutting Edge warbond update (CM-17).
They release one medium armor on the superstore with the democratic detonation update, it has the same stats than the two available on the Helldivers Mobibilize warbond (CM-10).
One of them was an exlusive twitch drop (TR-117) and then made available for all steam users.
I wisht they had medic aemors with different color schemes, the green doesnt do it for me, would prefer white and red personally, sadly i cant even find any armor mods for the medic sets haha
Because stims are great and have NO SIDE EFFECTS, So my Democracy OFFICER says I can have all the STIMS I want and I want all I can have so I BOUGHT LOTS of armor with POCKETS JUST FOR STIMS so I can HAVE MORE STIMS FOR SUPER EARTH. I LOVE FREEDOM.
AH desperately needs to unfuck the ergonomics of the stim pistol.
We would probably see a whole new wave of dedicated support/medic players if it wasn't such a pain to use.
I believe that within the development team there is still a significant person/group that believes the game should have been more realistic/grounded. and that design philosophy still exists throughout balancing choices and certain designs. Sometimes manifesting in fairly negative ways.
I still personally wish the game had gone more that way, I still enjoy it as it is and understand why development went the direction it did. I want medical/support roles to be more prominent, but I donāt think sitting on a stim pistol the whole time is helping the team as much as many support divers think it does, whatās the saying āSometimes the best way to save a life is to take one?ā
Iām not saying the stim pistol or support role is not worth taking, but just sitting there with a stim pistol not shooting back can be actively hurting the team more than youāre helping. Bring EATs, bring an arc thrower to stun stuff, bring gas, etc. support does not equal pacifist.
What gets me is why do they all look damn newr identical i just wanted a little color variation or a red and white varient with out the scrubs green color
Idk but at least I have two extra stims to stab others with. I get reactions whenever I do that :D Usually a thank you, but a couple nights ago, it got someone to unmute their mic and go "whoooaaaaaa"
So may options to look exactly the same from behind lol. Need some flashy stuff for the medics and maybe once you get some drip, youāll see more come out of the woodwork
Very simple, because they have the best armour passive of the game, at least for me, and the obvious constant need of medic in a battlefield.
Saddly they all look very similar :(
According to the quickest of Google searches, there are over 100 armor sets in HD2. So, 6% of armor is medic armor? I don't feel that is disproportionate.
Yeah, why are there a disproportionate amount of medic armors? I barely have any choice when picking medic armor. I got so much choice when picking explosion resist. We really do need more medic armor.
I'd honestly love to see this much variety for every armour passive, instead of adding a bunch more new passives that either suck and/or just skim off half of a previous armour passive anyway.
Also hillarious how the TR-117 set is considered a medic armour despite looking nothing like a medic armour aside from being green and using the same basic pieces as the one to the left of it, but it could just as easily be siege ready or something with those ammo pouches. Apple flavoured bacon huh?
Idk but I am a medic armor addict. I literally canāt take it off it feels so essential, and I out last EVERYONE with it itās constantly boiling down to you use 3 stims that puts a normal diver on deaths door I use 3 stims I still have plenty left in the tank
It's crazy to me that with how many medic based armors and helms are in the game, you still barely can cobble together a supportive role in any capacity, and it can be hard to fill such a role when the only heal option that isn't mashing the interact button running up on someone is a gun that people often mistake you for griefing. Sure, support pack too, I guess. Maybe shield strategem, sentries, emplacements. Then at that point you're just a less effective skirmisher. So bad, do I want more support equipment, man...
because the stim pistol is actually insanely lame to use once you realize you miss 95% of your shots and that playing as a medic doesn't mean much when your teammates usually die instantly
Have seen how often divers get injured? Medics are a dire need.
Medic gaming
Take your prize, Medicae
We need a Defib stratagem XD
The amount of dumbass things me and my boys are doing during a dive, being able to help them is a necessity
Let me uber charge the helldiver. I need it.
Let me crit charge an autocannon wielder, with a third guy loading the backpack.
at that lets add random crits
peacemaker one-shots a bile titan and it explodes into a hellbomb on death
*. Sick ass saxophone solo starts playng *
And yet ive only seen one person running it in over a year of diving.
There are ten armors with engineering kit, eight fortified, and seven servo assisted so its really not that crazy. I think you just notice because they all look so similar.
Engineering kit gives crazy fashion choices. Medic armors are all essentially the same if you squint at them.
57 comments and half of them are from you š
Bro loves Helldivers, cant blame em
Fair, at least somebody on this sub is enthusiastic
Well yeah, it's the distinctive Red, White and Green of the Intergalactic Medical Corps
Which, in fairness, on an actual battlefield, is probably a good distinction.
Username⦠checks out??
No joke, just looking over the picture briefly i thought some were using the same armor.
Yeah literally only the bottom middle one looks different but also looks the best imo
Master chief
Minty fresh toothpaste man
There's your two choices medicdiver hope you like one of them.
Out of all the āclassesā that exist, the medic should probably be the most recognizable.
Theyāre also the most brightly colored, they all stick out like sore thumbs
š¶ On the 10th day of Supermas, my democracy officer gave to me... š¶
Trench paramedic caked up tho
Which, again, begs the question of why there are so many. There's the same-colored ugly ones that only make sense to wear if you're outright role-playing a medic, and then the TR-117.
...yet they've somehow (annoyingly) managed to give each of them unique shades of both white and green!Ā
The hopes that AH had for us to help one another is wild.
Every so often, I drop with medic armor, stim pistol, supply backpack and try and help low levels.
if the stim pistol tracked or something i know a lot of people that would be happy to play medic but it is incredibly difficult while having only a moderate payout
They should give it the same lock on mechanic as that other pistol
I'll buy a P-92S Warrant Stim so fast my wallet will explode and I will need someone to shoot me with it.
Call it the Subpoena if it's not just an upgrade to the Stim Pistol
If you want to play support, take croud control, or team reload for a player with an ammo backpack. Honestly just play a different game where that's a roll. Give me a Stim shotgun
Now if they introduced resurrecting divers whose bodies were still in one piece with a stim, that would be medic gameplay!
the way ragdolls desync means I can pump a few downrange before you get hit again tho, but this is very jank
There's actually an interview out there where they pretty much said they threw the stim pistol in as a "You think you want this, but you don't. The game's not made for a 'medic' role and trying to use this thing we're finally adding will show you why". "We made a game about dropping with 3 other players and promoting teamwork...No, not like that."
I think something to consider would be to give medic armor an additional benefit focused on healing others, like a 50% chance to not use up a stim when healing a critically injured teammate. Playstyles wouldnāt change much, but now thereās some extra incentive to play into a medic role.
They should have given us more medic tools then
The main issue is that they pretty much look all the same, except one...
Yes clinician has a lot of cake going on
This so much.
Meh. I guess I'll just keep wearing T117 Alpha Commander
i love heavy fort on bots. rocket devastators can pinball you into mines and youāll just shake it off.
The toothpaste look is the worst drip in the game
That's a good thing in my eyes, medics are supposed to be easily recognizable and the stronger uniformity is something I sorely miss from the first game
Sure...except that at +2 extra stims, it's not much of a medic build. And the extra 2s of stims effect applies o ly to the wearer. Real medical have Stim guns ..
the +2 seconds of stim effect also applies to the stim sidearm, as does the meth stim booster
The engineering kit gives +2 grenades. I don't know how that helps them do calculus, personally
:'-D
I think it's more for getting from 3 to 5 thermite, which is very useful to demolition engineers that rely on grenades. I have never found the perk that attractive TBO. If I want to a of grenades, I would equip a supply backpack.
No you got semi realistic soldier color scheme
And toothpaste man
id like more heavy variants :)
Definitely. In line with the first 2 armor sets, the others look like crayons
the closer it looks to trauma team, the better
Put viper medic or bust
I want more engineering kit heavies as well.
I run nothing but these and stim pistol with infusion, and only been tk'd once suprisingly for thinking i just shot them (they dont understand health goes up not down ig?)
Yet none of the greens or whites match š it's so difficult making a matching set of armor with everything being 'unique'
Most of these are from when the game just released and there were only a few armour perks.
I like their look, but it's often for personnal use because I still didn't unlock the Stim Pistol
Don't worry, it will remain for personal use even after you unlock stim pistol
the most difficult part I have is to work in team with poeple. Most of the time I play at difficulties where split solo is enought
Democracy forbid a cooperative activity has armors to help you cooperate lol
Iād love a MEDIC title or something similar. Maybe if we ever get a heals focused warbond, I guess.
Heal focused warbond?
Armor perk gives +2 stims and +2 grenades.
Unlocks include heal grenades, a support weapon that shoots a healing beam, a support weapon that creates a healing field, and a strategem healing turret. Maybe the standard white and green medic skin for vehicles and pods.
Gatling stim sentry pls
Stimwart
Maxistim-1000
Orbital Stimcannon
Autostimmon
Airburst Stimmer
Exostim
Fast Recon Stimicle
That one guard dog from the first game that healed
Pretty sure theres like 6 medic sets
Like 6 grenade sets
Like 6 melee sets
Like 6 sets that reduce recoil
If anything I'll ask why and where is my heavy unflinching armor for truth enforcers and where is my medium siege ready
Those other sets all have different looks, medic is all the same.
Also, where is my medium siege ready?
I want a heavy unflinching armor mixed with recoil control instead of the radar ping.
I ALSO want a heavy scout armor separately.
And ALSO want a throw increase armor with more grenades because that makes a lot of sense
When the game was released, AH initially planned the armors to have unique stats but stop doing it after the three premium warbonds. Devs have a Trauma Team fetish, choom.
At least i can mix and matā
Boom different shade of green on each
Because Medic is credit to team!
I wisht they had medic aemors with different color schemes, the green doesnt do it for me, would prefer white and red personally, sadly i cant even find any armor mods for the medic sets haha
I would adore a medical armor that was all white, I love entirely white armor in media like this
If stats didnāt matter Iād be running the white polar patriotās armor
https://preview.redd.it/9vjbyjmpj17g1.jpeg?width=1085&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32cdaab3e35584bcb721b6e408c1e492963a6d8e
I guess because AH really like ugly color combos?
And why are they all green and white
That is clearly the medic color scheme in Helldivers instead of red crosses
Trauma Team is responsible for all Helldiver healthcare
I usually stick with suit 2, upper middle. The lighter greens make me feel like some kind of toothpaste commando
As an eruoptor user I see this as an absolute win. Actually no, I don't BECAUSE THEY ALL LOOK THE SAMEĀ
I just wish they werenāt ugly lol. I mean, theyāre fine. But I wish they were dope :D
Still waiting on that medic warbond with stim machine gun
And no true light med kit either
AH desperately needs to unfuck the ergonomics of the stim pistol. We would probably see a whole new wave of dedicated support/medic players if it wasn't such a pain to use.
And none of them are lightš
Trench Paramedic is a light medic armor, it's in the super store.
If only we had something more than a super difficult to use Stim Pistol to justify that amount of medic variations
Stim Addiction
And only 1 light armour with extra padding. š
I want more choices for my fast as fuck but not squishy boi.
https://preview.redd.it/jxzwcjuq517g1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5afe6bf5229a1f9b91535c55305e8045d3240f80
And why do all but 2 of of them look like ass
I don't know. But I never liked them, the color combo is too busy. They should have dropped the red accents.
and they're all minty fresh
I believe that within the development team there is still a significant person/group that believes the game should have been more realistic/grounded. and that design philosophy still exists throughout balancing choices and certain designs. Sometimes manifesting in fairly negative ways.

Because I NEED STIMS!
The real issue is they all look like a tube of toothpaste. Discount trauma team lookin mfs.
One heavy.. one light... rest medium
One was special... two from the first warbond 3 from the store.
Two came in the same warbond
My friends think they look awful, I don't know why as that isn't the sentiment I get from the rest of the community.
And if your that type of player that prefers practicality, 6 stims are great. And why wouldn't it look like this?
Because I like my stims
I still want heavy scout armor
Cuz making medical armors is fun and easy
Keep your friends close but your medics closer
For drip in any form?
There is a disproportionate need for medkits
What gets me is why do they all look damn newr identical i just wanted a little color variation or a red and white varient with out the scrubs green color
drugs š
And why do they all look like ass with their color scheme.
Because stims are cool and completely not addictive
Because I need my stims damnit
All I see is Trauma Team though one seems to be out of the color theme though
I got bored and picked up the Medic roleplay/persona. It can be fun, but nobody likes to actually sit still to get stimmed.
The one time i wear the medic armor and i am witness to the stress that is hiperactive helldivers
Idk but at least I have two extra stims to stab others with. I get reactions whenever I do that :D Usually a thank you, but a couple nights ago, it got someone to unmute their mic and go "whoooaaaaaa"
Better question is why are medic armor's always so ugly...
And thereās no cool variation??! I demand medic DRIP š§
https://preview.redd.it/i8wkmnt7357g1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eabb93596646bea9d413ff932f794cc354591b71
Because nobody plays as a medic and if you don't incentivise it, than its even more unlikely to happen.
Imagine a medkit and engineer kid combo armor like +2 stims and +2 grenades
That would be beyond op
We need a medic warbond, I would love a medic drone and assault rifle with underbarrel stim launcher.
An epidemic of strategic stim usage. I would wear it but... I don't really dig the way it looks....
Because one of the main occurrences in war is: "getting horribly fucked up"
Give me more fire resist!
Trench paramedic
Dedicated medics are a must. 1 in 4 at least
To hurt our eyes
Because their awesome
Permacure lobbying
I'm not addicted, I just like to sample each and every stim I find. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM! YOU HAVE A PROBLEM! I CAN QUIT WHENEVER I WANT!!
wait till you see how many Democracy Protects armours there are
I run the bubble helmet on the truth enforcer armor to give a āmedical officerā kinda vibe. Whiff my shots like a butterbar too.
Same reason theres a disproportionate amount of engineering kit armors; they're popular
why do you care
So may options to look exactly the same from behind lol. Need some flashy stuff for the medics and maybe once you get some drip, youāll see more come out of the woodwork
Because some divers don't realize that red of a limb means Stim Now.
Stop getting hit.
Wish they could revive with some long animation that was easy to get killed during
The real question is why are they all slightly different shades of green.
I just want them to make stim pistol able to shoot yourself with it⦠would be kind of broken if you self stim with it tho
Yeah kinda weird tbh
Medics need drip too
Better question is - why are they all ugly? They don't look like battle medics, but just normal ones.
6 out of 99 is disproportionate?
Very simple, because they have the best armour passive of the game, at least for me, and the obvious constant need of medic in a battlefield. Saddly they all look very similar :(
Because stims have zero addictive quality now shhh
According to the quickest of Google searches, there are over 100 armor sets in HD2. So, 6% of armor is medic armor? I don't feel that is disproportionate.
Wish you could stim teammates without them getting a serious injury then I'd be moving like Desmond Doss
So many medic armors and yet they all kinda look the same and ugly :(
Because it's the best armor effect.
Different weight classes and couple themed ones.
I love medic armor green it makes me feel safe
Because they're drippy
There isnāt?
Because we need more support, dammit!
Yeah, why are there a disproportionate amount of medic armors? I barely have any choice when picking medic armor. I got so much choice when picking explosion resist. We really do need more medic armor.
TRAUMA TEEEAAAAM

Thank God you made it
I'd honestly love to see this much variety for every armour passive, instead of adding a bunch more new passives that either suck and/or just skim off half of a previous armour passive anyway.
Also hillarious how the TR-117 set is considered a medic armour despite looking nothing like a medic armour aside from being green and using the same basic pieces as the one to the left of it, but it could just as easily be siege ready or something with those ammo pouches. Apple flavoured bacon huh?
I mean it makes sense
If you have a small group of elite special forces guys, losing one man is 25% of a team's firepower and assets
Every man you can save makes a huge difference
Honestly I really want a medic theme warbond it's niche but I definitely want some med drip
Idk but I am a medic armor addict. I literally canāt take it off it feels so essential, and I out last EVERYONE with it itās constantly boiling down to you use 3 stims that puts a normal diver on deaths door I use 3 stims I still have plenty left in the tank
They are sponsored by TraumaTeam
When i realuzed it, i just let it go as they must enjoy being extra supported when they game
Because they are the mostest coolest most awesomest
Whatās annoying is they all look so similar.
Only one with good drip
Because Med-Kit armours are the best in the game
people love stims
3rd one is straigth up trauma team armor
Don't Know, I have all of them and don't use any of them.
I once posted about this is in the early days of the game and was downvoted to hell, told to shut up, and that it's for fashion. So it's for fashion.
I wish the stim pistol's melee healed as well as bonked. Itd funny and useful
Because Stims do not have any addictive properties.
Would love to use them but I can't see them looking good
They all have slightly different shades of white too
really need more siege ready armors
Bottom middle is the only one I use. With the hooded mask and all black cape šš¼
Those +2 stims are golden for a bullet sponge like me.
Medics are an absolute need in the Helldivers.
Sadly there arenāt that many to go around due to the mortality rate of being a Helldiver.
And yet no medium Siege-Ready or light Democracy Protects⦠and there are some heavy ones missing that I canāt remember
Gotta look suave while.pathcing up the "heros" š
... What? 3 medium, one light, one heavy? That's "disproportionate"?
As a medic diver I want more medical armours
and 2 armor with Siege-Ready, Why AH! Why!
One is the a master chief tribute and yeah dont need 3 different mediums that all look so similar.
There's not enough armors for my favorite perk in the game :[
I just love the look of top left with an all white colour scheme elsewhere, it looks so clean, so I can see the grime of the enemie
Adittional question: Why do all but one of them make me look like a melted candy cane?
Because AH has trouble coming up with original content ideas on their own?
And only 1 doesn't look entirely gaudy.
Because the IMC is a legit in-game thing and they need representation simply for being dope asf
Why is there a disproportionate amount of different green colors ;---;
because the stim pistol is actually insanely lame to use once you realize you miss 95% of your shots and that playing as a medic doesn't mean much when your teammates usually die instantly
