You do have them! You just don’t have as many. They were preferred as ship’s cats, which is why some people in Australia and New Zealand call them clipper cats. They are most common along the east coast of North America and the southwest coast of the UK. In Portland, Maine, as many of 20% of shelter cats might be polydactyl. But you can find at least a few in any city that was a major port in the days of tall ships.
That's so interesting! I love collecting new cat facts. Their history is more interesting to me than that of humans, & often highlights aspects of human past lives that I'm often ignorant about.
Monday Funday Purrs with Gummich are super soothing. Thank you for sharing. 🩵
I love his firm opinions
I did not realize Gummitch was a polydactle! He's even more special. I love how well he uses the extra toes. My girl tucks hers up under her paw!
Please let Gummitch know his purrs help my insomnia
Oh good, I’m glad they help you.
Love his paws😻. I wish we had polydactyly cats here in Australia.

That's fascinating! I love learning details about cats! 🩵
I had no idea but that’s so cool. I want to see one in real life some day 🤩

In Swedish, a polydactyl cat is called a 'skeppskatt', i.e. a ship cat!
Prrrrmrow
Monday Gummitch 🫶🏽💛❤️
I will just replay them any day of the week ❤️ Kitty purrs are so healing. I miss how loud my cats’ purrs were when they were babies.
I will happily accept Gummitch purrs any time and day
I'm pretty much incapable of anything before noon. Often after noon too. The purrs are appreciated whenever they reach us! 😻😻
Not only do I love the purrs, but I like the color (use of it/the many colors) in your home. It’s bright and cheery. 😊
Gummitch is such a puurfect darling. Give him an extra boop on his wee nose for me ♥️
what is this strange 'before noon' thing to which you refer? I'm lucky if I can get up by 10. I don't believe in mornings; I'm part cat!
Merry Christmas 🎄 rain! Mele Kalekemaka!🌲
I’m late but ah, Gummitch purrs are the best.
