He still hisses and grumbles at them when they go too far, but his ears and whiskers are much more forward than when he has chastised fosters in the past, and the bar for "too far" is slowly rising.

He has never been as snuggly as the others. He doesn't hang out near me all the time or sleep with me. He happily accepts affection when I come to where he is, and he'll come to me to ask for scritches or play time when he wants them. He hasn't been seeking me out much when the kittens are downstairs, but he's starting to do it more.

Aww, thanks so much! I only have shoulder totes and laundry bags, the white Poorly Drawn Harpo for clean, the reversed black one for dirty. So I'll be interested to know what you think of that weekend tote.

Which beach towel did you get? I have the Pride flag Keep Calm, which is the EXACT same size as the back (or front) of the foster cage. So I have that clipped to it like a curtain, but the white version of that design would look even better in that room. So I was thinking maybe do a giveaway of the one I have now during Pride month, or maybe a raffle for donations to an assistance fund at the hospital that saved Harpo when no one else would.

This is the kind of thing I'm talking about when I say I wasted the once in a lifetime opportunity that Harpo gave me. I could have easily had a few thousand KoFi subscribers by now if I continued as I started, having people send me pictures of their pets for Harpo to bring them. But I fucked it up.

The initial round of people sent me pictures when they signed up. But as it grew (a little) people didn't do that. I'd send messages, they'd go to spam and never see them. I'd lose track of who I'd asked and lose track of orders and perks, because KoFi doesn't have tools to do those things, you have to port the information elsewhere, which I didn't know how to do.

Of course it isn't hard. Once upon a time, I'd have figured it out in 15 minutes. But ever since my head injury, I have an incredibly hard time learning how to do new things like that. So I let it fall by the wayside.

I later tried to revive it, asking my friend who helped me save Harpo to do admin stuff. It slowly got going again, but then she died, and I couldn't access anything, because she was so used to being the only one with access at her job that she reflexively set the permissions like that.

I felt so bad about not getting people their perks and/or merch orders and losing track of everything, that I didn't feel like I had the right to keep soliciting subscribers or promoting the merch. So I just....stopped.

I just read someone on Threads who said an advisor told them to create a $500/mo tier on Patreon just in case someone wanted more of her time (she has a skill, idr what). After 2-3 years, someone did choose that tier and paid for several hours of her time one-on-one (via Zoom) every month for several years.

I’m suggesting that you create a $500/mo tier, even if it’s unlikely to be used. You never know.
