Have been iterating on the Talon38 to improve the design and had a set of nrf52840 boards and thought, nows the time!

  • What battery do you have in that (and where the hell is it?)

    The batteries are 401230 lipo cells I picked up from Amazon https://a.co/d/fBO0me4

    And they are in the body just above the thumb keys. The MCU board is at the top of that section. I think you can just see them in the one interior shot

    how to make top and bottom sides compatible ?

    Adapting this design to 3x6_3 would be fairly straight forward. Im not sure what you are asking about top and bottom..

    This board was entirely designed in FreeCad - I follow a mostly "master sketch" approach, where I have one sketch that describes about 80% of the final product, and i build up one piece at a time. part of that is the board outline, and both the top and bottom plates are designed within that outline.

  • Could you please indicate how many grams of plastic are being used?

    Sorry it took me so long to answer! It depends a bit on the settings, and I personally like to build them on the heavier side, so i use more walls typically. If you crank up the number of walls to like 6 as I normally do, you end up at just about 135 grams of plastic.

    Run a more conservative print, which is still plenty strong (this one was actually accidentally printed at the lower wall setting!) and its down to about 110 grams.

    This is without the keycaps. Caps as shown here are another 69 grams
