The goal of this project is to make a beginner friendly Corne build that’s cheap and easy to put together. When I started building keyboards, I had to do a ton of research and watch a lot of YouTube tutorials, so I wanted to make something anyone with basic soldering skills and a 3D printer can build without overthinking it.
Total build cost is about 20€. It’s simple, and it supports both Kailh Choc and MX switches.
I picked the Corne because it’s one of the most popular layouts and a perfect entry point into the split ergo rabbit hole.

This looks cool. I've spent a lot of head scratching building basically this (but more sweep than corne) and having this guide would have been super useful !!! I might queue it up as my next project !

Amazing job. I made my own handwired 5-column wireless corne a few months ago and I had struggled quite a bit, given the lack of information on handwired wireless corne's. This would've definitely helped me a lot.

Can't tell you right now but it's fairly thin: top to bottom of the plate and case is around 10 mm

I'm curious to know how you got to the 20 Euro price point. The switches alone cost me that much already via the provided link.
Maybe with the MX Switches only?
I've never ordered anything of aliexpress and find it quite frustrating. Once everything is in the shopping cart it's way more expensive than the prices on the product page.
E: And then you have your prices in the shopping cart that are way higher than the product pages and you click pay and oopsie, sth "promotion" is not available any longer and they made it even more expensive. Yet if you go back to the cart it's still cheaper. Why does it have to be so scammy?
I used reddragon low profile switches from aliexpress. I believe that i payed 7€ for 50 switches, which is much cheaper than the kailh/gateron lows. My total was also about 20€.

Well, the case design, Sputnik is huge sandwich case design and this is super thin and very simple

This was done as entry level project, and imo, 6 columns is more beginner friendly. Next I'm planning to do hybrid between Voyager and piantor ( aggressive sweep, number column and voyager thumb cluster) and something like sweep/totem build, so stay tuned to updates

I wish this sort of thing was around when I first started tinkering with splits. Would have made the journey much easier! 😜

What do you mean with with USB wired mode fallback? Can you expand on that please?
It just means that you can connect the left halve to the PC using cable instead of Bluetooth (right side still need to be connected to the left via bt tho)
What makes the trick? The firmware?
