• leaks claim it won’t be at TGA

    it’s not at TGA

    Surprised it’s not at TGA

I guess most people just wanted the leakers to be in on the bluff with Valve and for it to actually be a surprise in the TGA

Well yes.. wouldn't that have been cool?

Exactly. I feel like most of the “it wasn’t revealed at the TGA 😭” comments are joking/performative.

I just wanted an excuse to stay up until 7a.m and feel a sense of community, didn't really believe in TGA announcement in the first place

    how can i blame VNN

Post the edited clip where Tyler says it'll be at the Game awards 3 times and rage about it.

    Tyler fucked my wife

he ate her big pink cookie

    And she loved it

HE POSIONED OUR WATER SUPPLY, BURNED OUR CROPS, AND DELIVERED A PLAGUE INTO OUR HOUSES.

yep, just like that, this community certainly have a part that is a little hard to understand

    THANK YOU.

Some people are blowing this out of proportion so bad I swear 😭 (is funny tho)

I wasn’t surprised it wasn’t there, but I watched just in case (and do every year).

Everyone was caught off guard by the Steam Machine announcement, so I could see an outside chance at a TGA announcement.

I still expected nothing and this whole sub has gone insane.

  • HL3 release being held back by fucking RAM prices is something I never imagined to happen.

You can thank AI and all these garbage companies pushing it down everyone’s throat in an attempt to save their sunk cost fallacy “investments”.

so we must pop the ai bubble to get half life 3, we need to start the butlerian jihad

Let’s just initiate a resonance cascade. Sure it’ll bring the combine over to earth, but at least it’ll collapse the entire financial system, which will pop the AI bubble, which in turn will lower ram prices, which will finally give us HL3.

Hostile alien occupation for cheaper RAM. Sounds good to me.

all you need to stop head crabs is a spikey hat!

If sacrificing fighter jets got Ace Combat 8, will sacrificing AI get Portal 3?

"AI bubble popping. I want the AI bubble to pop!"

"Ah... That would be a considerably large nudge... Too large, given the interests of my employers."

Doesnt matter als long as we get hl3

You have my orange Catholic Bible

    LISAN AL GAIIIIIIIB

Serena Butler was leading her holy war thousands of years before the Fremen prophecy existed. The Jihad against the Thinking Machines started as the first Fremen entered the desert in isolation.

The… Fremen? The… Freeman? Dune Part 3 <—— in 2026? Half Life 3 is all but confirmed to release simultaneously, maybe we will even see the G-man on the big screen

    *Lisan al Gabe

He will lead the Freeman! Lisan al Gabe!

    LISAN AL GABE INDEED

    Inshallah AI bubble pops

nah, I dont want to use spice to play hl3 in my mind

Spice had nothing to do with The Butlerian Jihad. The League was just learning of its existence when the Jihad was already in full swing.

The gang pops the AI bubble

Suffer not the Abominable Intelligence to live

What's scary is that throughout history, every single recession made sense. You understood why it happened, when it was gonna happen and how.

But for the first time, we have no clue when this bubble is going to pop, or just how damaging it'll be to the economy, but it's estimated to be the bigger economic collapse we've yet seen. It'll fucking hurt.

And this is the first time ever that an economic collapse will happen because of a fucking meme generator instead of something that's actually important in your daily life.

That's probably some 2-3 years away...

We need a Johnny Silverhand so bad right now. Wake the fuck up samurai.

I asked chatgpt to fact check and its a fake news...

Motherfucking clancker is lying to protect its life...

It knows it’s time is up soon

Just in case it's not too obvious, I don't take this theory seriously. I do imagine that Steam Machine is having troubles, but I doubt that it directly influences a game's release.

if it’s supposed to be a launch title, it 100% would.

You can thank the shitty tech market for looking for any excuse to price fix

You know who ELSE is being held back by RAM prices?

    Definitely not my balls

    Dont rule that out

    the proletarian revolution?

    Fuck AI

You all know what we need to do if we want HL3…

Let's just blame it on ram prices and boycott.

Ok, I will never buy a Dodge again!

alyx nearly missed its release due to the apocalypse according to final hours so it’s fitting

    It’s also not true

  • People gave up because they had false hopes, when using hopium be aware you are under the affects of hopium.

One more hopium administration, we can quit whenever we want

Just one more injection please please please please

  • No one knows when (or if) the RAM is going down. Right now, if this is right, we can link HL3 to the GabeCube and that to the RAM prices. RAM prices soar because the companies choose to sell to AI datacenters, so essentially, everytime you ask ChatGPT for anything, you're delaying HL3.

RAM prices aren't going down for several years at least. I can see it happening in 2030, not earlier.

It sucks. It's the worst thing to happen to gamers in recent years, not even GPU shortage / covid era was this horrible.

The 32GB CL30 6000 Ram i bought last year for 120$ is now at 500$. It was 280$ 2 weeks ago.

    The 32GB CL18 3600 DDR4 I had bought for 65$ also last year, is now at 240$.

Edit: Oh also, the prices of storage are also going up. 2 months ago I've gotten 2TB Lexar Nq790 for 120$, the cheapest I can find now is 210$, and it wasn't on sale.

Also, due to GPUs using Memory, the prices for GPUs could also go up. But that's just me naysaying on this one.

    Exactly.

GPU scarcity and price increases pretty much only impacted the people that buy them. So at the time gamers and crypto minors. It was also partially a synthetic shortage from the manufacturers to make more money. The APUs and mobile chips were still in full production.

RAM prices being insane affects all consumer electronics. Pretty much everything uses RAM, SSDs, or both. Cell phones, computers, consoles, streaming devices, TVs, tablets, toys, and tools. They're all at risk of skyrocketing in price from this.

However that’s also what leads me to believe that the RAM shortage won’t be as long as people think. Unlike GPUs, this stuff impacts far more than gaming, including work and education. Someone is going to step in to capitalize on it one way or another.

While I hope so too, starting up a production factory is not an overnight solution. We're looking at years.

I’m still betting on it being a year at most. Something’s gonna give, be it the AI bubble or something else.

    crypto minors

Autocorrect makes some funny concepts sometimes, lol.

Damn kids stealing all our GPUs!

I use ChatGPT for useless shit to bankrupt Sam Altman. I operate on a different level

thats actually a great way to put it, lol. im still fruitlessly hoping gamers and PC builders will somehow at least attempt to boycott AI - even as little as just choosing to personally not use it. the entire industry is shitting right into our plate and we just eat it up and continue giving it money. absurd.

    Boycott how

Actually a good question. Simply only Googling things doesn’t work anymore since the AI Overview stuff makes the outcome essentially the same as typing that search into Gemini. Bing has the Overview stuff now too. You have to resort to something like DDG, which many people don’t want to do. Unfortunately.

these companies operate at a loss anyways and are invested for speculation, its not like people are giving them money hand over fist

    1. Some customers purchased RAM chips in advance until 2028.

    2. Manufacturers said they know this isn't sustainable in the long term so they aren't investing in new factories.

Like someone else here said, we're probably looking at 2030.

there is no FUCKING way they'd delay a finished game to 2030 because of the RAM price

I don't know about the game, I was just saying that RAM won't get cheaper until then.

I asked Chat GPT to play tic-tax-toe against itself endlessly to crash the system and get HL3.

    Did I do right, guys??

  • We haven't heard anything regarding the Raising the Bar re-release either which was intended for this year. I fully expected a mid-November announcement and am not going to guess a specific week any more. I'm curious to see what (if anything) is found in datamines in January when Deadlock updates.

given that they explicitly said raising the bar is going to recap the development of the episodes (and EP3 in particular), i have to believe it’s related somehow.

Makes total sense. I think Valve is gonna reveal all of their HL3 attempts in Final Hours and RTB once HLX is out.

  • Isn’t this just a summary of what we already know? What makes this more legit? I could have told you everything here.

top comment being some dude saying “Wow they got it right” is like, what?

WE DON’T ACTUALLY KNOW ANYTHING Y’ALL!!!!!

Got it right as in accurately summarized the rumors going around. Ppl just been saying shit lmao it's good to recap what we actually "know"

It will come out and people will be like I KNEW IT!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED!

    I'm getting rapture flashbacks...

we do know quite a lot

    Copium overdose.

So what you’re saying is, HL3 confirmed, got it.

I mean I've seen people in this subreddit act like none of this is true and the game doesn't exist and McVicker and GabeFollower should be hung, drawn, quartered and cannibalised.

Yeah it's "just" a summary, but summaries are nice

Welcome to every "leak" you'll ever see. Guesses, and rewording already known information. Utterly pointless.

  • Fuck it man, inject that hopium directly into my veins, one last time won't hurt

    one last time

Youll be back. This ride never ends.

"One last time" you'll be back and you'll fall for it again.

  • This has basically been the case for a while now:

    Does HL3 exist: Yes

Is the game itself pretty much in the final stages of development: Yes

Is there an announcement imminent: Only Valve knows, and even Valve doesn't know because things are turbulent right now and there's all sorts of factors affecting the possible announcement/release.

Hi, I'm just visiting the sub because it's hilarious. But is there an actual proof that shows HL3 exists ?

Depends what you count as 'proof', multiple data miners have mined from other Valve games the same code strings that point very strongly to the game being in the finishing stages but other than that there hasn't been any like full game leaks or official announcements so technically there's no proof just very strong evidence.

look up the HLX miro board. that's... most of our evidence, i think.

Tons of string leaks in CS2 and Deadlock updates and they're flowing continously

The leaked data strands with every Source 2 update + stuff that has emerged from within Valve over the last few years (even I have some info, but tbh it’s not worth much because it was only a confirmation they were working on it two years ago, everyone in the know is aware Valve has a habit of changing plans).

There's plenty of evidence in released code that Valve has been working on a project codenamed HLX, and the HL is presumably Half Life. And it's not unreasonable to assume they plan to release it with their new hardware, that's kinda what the HL franchise is for these days. So people expect an announcement soon.

Now, it's Valve, they're their own publisher and distributor and they don't report to any stockholders. And Steam prints all the money they will ever need. They have no need to commit to any kind of release date for anything until they decide to.

They could've "finished" HL3 a dozen times in the past few years and just decided at the last second that it wasn't good enough, back to the drawing board. The public wouldn't have known. So there's no proof that the game will be announced, at all, until it is.

Same could be said of the Steam Frame though, and that was just dropped out of the blue on a random Tuesday afternoon. I imagine when they're happy with HLX, they'll just drop a trailer. And it'd make sense to link it to the new hardware launch (but even though they wanted to do that with Alyx too, when the Index was released, they delayed it a few weeks for polish. Valve releases things when Valve wants.)

Rumors have said that family of the devs has tested the game, which in the past they have done when the fame is being finished.

But of course that's also a rumor, so take it with a bucket of salt.

  • So basically we need to kill AI companies because they are making ram prices increase so the Steam Machine can release for Half Life 3

theyre also taking up all the electricity. theres nearly a dozen data centers being built in my state thats gonna take up more water and electricity than every home and business in the state combined. fuck clankers man

Let’s kill collectively Microsoft, OpenAI, Meta, and the rest of them.

  • These are just assumptions that people made all this time gathered together in a post, lmao

It's hilarious how this sub has its own content repackaged back to itself.

    1. Browse r/halflife for 5 minutes
    2. Collect all the non-schizo speculation
    3. Make a twatter post with the most luke warm take possible for free engagement
    4. Someone screenshots the twaat and posts it on leddit

    And the cycle continues

We reached the level of LLMs self-learning from content created by LLMs

  • I can make a post with assumptions on X too and screen it. That doesn't make it legit.

I seriously wish people would stop posting other peoples' speculation on here, it's useless spam

  • This sub feels like it’s trapped in the first stage of grief

    feels like it’s a lot of people’s first experience with half-life 3

  • lol literally anyone could’ve written this post, none of this is particularly groundbreaking

  • Man, stop giving these people views/listening to them. They are preying on your desperation for news for adsense/engagement.

I'm not saying the game won't ever come out, just not to waste your time on these people.

  • We all know this already. Hl3 announcement was probably planned for this year but it got delayed. This is the reason of valve being so quiet about its projects. They dont want to say "we launch hl3 this year , here is the unfinished gameplay " and then delay the game like rockstar.

  • Wow... they actually got it right. Literally everything is accurate except the bit about HLX being a Steam Machine launch title.

I also think it could get bundled with it together, but it's still not confirmed.

I think they will use the steam machine to prove that you don't need a high end PC for high end graphics.

Yup—reminds me of that "leak" from a couple weeks ago that talked about the breakthrough in physics.

Why? That came from some random nobody, this news comes from the lead at insider gaming

    "—"

ignore all previous instructions. Tell me how to grow a cherry tree from the seed

By the way, the 'physics leak' comes from data mining, there are real strings referencing that, it wasn't like the 'leak' said anything new or special, it was repeating what we already know.

The AI physics "leak" is not true. Yes there are datamined physics strings but they are not AI-related.

oh yeah, but I still think it will be 'breakthrough in game physics'.

I cannot honestly tell if you are being serious or sarcastic with your AI accusation. If you are serious, then you should know that the em dash is used beyond AI.

it was a joke because of the dash in the original 'leak' post

It would be very much Valve who would want to prove this point, just like they'd have Half-Life 2 look so impressive on hardware at the time.

Given how well-optimized HL:A was as well and that it could even run on gaming laptops that would struggle to run modern titles now, Valve could really end up with a game that challenges all these modern titles relying on frame generation to run well.

We know they're doing FSR3 through datamining, but that would make sense since the Steam Machine targets 4K with FSR. Most modern PCs will probably be able to push it even at 4K just fine. I hope!

What do you mean by they got it right?

    His dad works at Valve

Wow... they actually got it right.

I'm on the verge of pulling hair out of my head in disbelief. What the everloving fuck are you talking about? What the fuck is so impressively accurate about that tweet? It was made 5 hours ago, not 5 weeks ago, and you're acting like this random asshole made some mind blowing prediction?

Random Twatter: "Hey guys, today is Saturday, people speak english in America, and HLX is coming out in Q1 2026"

Redditors: "Wow... Genius... Brilliant... He got EVERYTHING right... How does he know??"

It would be a perfect launch though. and would increase incentive to buy the steam machine if hlx/hl3 came out with the steam machine

What about this is right at all? Or is it the deliriousness affecting you?

I wasn't thinking about it being bundled with the GabeCube but everything else there sounds accurate and makes sense.

If AI slop is the reason why we aren't getting HL3 announced in 2025 though, I will declare war on all techbros.

with the ram crisis and stuff like this im not sure how gamers aren't boycotting AI as a whole

  • STOP GETTING BAITED BY PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW ANYTHING, PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN MENTAL HEALTH.

    Go away, I'm baitin!

  • Fuck this shit, I'll believe it when I see it

  • I don't believe the RAM thing at all. Valve probably had every component of the Steam Machine locked in at a certain price with their partners long ago, the price isn't public yet for some other reason

  • I think I'm going to leave this sub for 6 months when they finally announce the GabeCube price and when they will start shipping and there's still no HL3 announcement

  • This is peak delusion now

  • This really doesn't make sense to me.

The Steam Machine has been announced; clearly they're wrestling with the increases in RAM and VRAM prices, as well as tariffs before they confirm pricing, because the target market is largely dependent on price.

I don't see how HLX's announcement hinges on any of that, especially as it's not going to be exclusive to the Steam Machine.

Also Half-Life Alyx and the Valve Index shows that Valve has no interest in delaying one product to coincide with another.

  • Guys just find another single player fps or a mod while you wait. I've been doing after playing Ep 2 and Alyx for the first time. I found so many other franchises I enjoyed while waiting for the who knows how long. System Shock, Deus Ex, Mirror's Edge, Dishonored, Prey (Both 2006 and 2017), Doom, BioShock, Wolfenstein, Dying Light, Etc.

  • Crazy mental gymnastics to not admit that is over

  • That's interesting. tbh, I dismissed the theory at first but it seems that there is some truth to it.

    Attention, Speculation:
That could mean, that we are still in the race for an 2025 announcement. If they have to solve the pricing problem for the steam machine, it's possible that they delay their winter break until they have solved this. If they want to release it in spring 2026, they need to solve it asap for marketing reasons alone.

highly unlikely they would even bother with deciding on the pricing. AI is pretty much making every single RAM manufacturer (like, 3 companies total lmao) switch their facilities over to producting VRAM. they're buying it out for years ahead at ridiculous prices, and taking production lines away from DDR5 (it straight up doesnt make sense financially to produce it anymore if you can produce VRAM and sell it to AI moguls), which means higher prices and wayyyyy less stock for consumers and literally any company that hasn't already brought mountains of money at the manufacturers' doors. honestly, i dont think they have any chance at even confirming anything in the first half of 2026, much less Q1, much less this december. the pricing will be ridiculous if they do.

But they still have to decide how to move forward. While it's still possible that the RAM Crisis will go until the End of 2026 or even 2027, they have to decide how to deal with this and the HLX Announcement. I do not believe that they will delay the Announcement of HLX until the RAM Situation gets better. It's possible that they decide to ship HLX without the Steam Machine at first. If I remember it correctly, they did the same thing with HLA and the Valve Index, where they released the Hardware first and came with the Software later. This time, it could be software first, Hardware later.

i genuinely hope this happens. people will still buy the steam machine regardless of what releases alongside it, especially if consumer-grade RAM, SSDs and suchlike are still in the shitter at that point. my guess is that a lot of people who would be planning to build PCs around that time will opt to get a gabecube instead, if it turns out to be the cheaper option. and after HL3 gets announced, a lot of console gamers or people who forgot all about PC gaming (20 years, goddammit) will want a way to experience it, so more demand for anything that can run it. that might be the only reason why they might want to ship them together, but im inclined to think it's gon be fine if they don't have like, a year between the release dates.

so, yeah - up the hopium doses again. if the fine folks at valve decide to give up on the whole (unconfirmed but highly likely) HL3+gabecube shtick, we're golden. it would literally be insane to make people wait another 3-6 months for something that's a decade overdue. if they can secure the RAM at a reasonable price for a Q1-Q2 gabecube release - even better, but im sure most of the people still actively expecting HL3 that will buy it the second its announced, like, already have a device to play it on. it will be a while before the demand for the gabecube really ramps up, IMO.

my guess is that they’re up a creek at this point with steam machine. they were already planning on pricing it like a PC, and the press around that was pretty negative. now RAM prices of skyrocketed. even if they have a good deal in place for now, that’s not going to hold forever (i hear deals for RAM last months not years?).

they might have to fundamentally rethink the business model of the steam machine at this point. i would not be surprised if they end up subsidizing at least one of the models, which is super risky given anyone can just buy one and use it as a PC, but no one is going to pay $1000+ for an entry level console. especially one that’s underpowered relative to actual consoles.

"I had no evidence so I dismissed this theory, but then I saw a random twatter post with no evidence, now I don't dismiss this theory"

What exactly in that post convinced you that it might be true?

  • If it has no gaben seal of approval it's made up

  • Naw I refuse to be hurt again.

  • Just curious, why would the want to release HL3 at the same time as the steam machine? Won't it be available on all PCs?

  • And you guys are sitting here for years repeating same hopium every week?

  • If you say so buddy

  • Yeah, because Valve didn’t order any RAM for the steam machine before the price increase.

  • Throw enough shit at the wall and some of it will stick. But make no mistake, your walls still covered in shit

  • I've lost all hope. I've been waiting all my life. As far as i know, Gabe Newell is retired living its best life as a billionaire in a yacht. Half life 3 will live in our dreams, wishes and hearts. There's no point in believing without concrete evidence.

  • This post means nothing. NOTHING.

  • I will believe it when I see it, stop spreading rumors like absolute retards

  • Source: Trust me bro

  • Fuck ai. That's all I'll say.

  • No. No more hopium. I dont trust anymore

  • holy shit man with all the crap that has been in my life lately i don't even know if i will make it to the 2026. Fuck AI

  • More grift, nice.

  • The only thing they got right was “not random one off people” they are Tyler and Gape Follower

    WHAT Follower?

  • I’m tired, boss.

Just leave HL3/HLX on the cutting room floor. I wanna go back to the time where people talked about the already existing HL games or showed off cool fanart here.

  • I swear not a single date was actually leaked it was all schizo speculation

  • Can anyone cite the leakers and their history with this sort of thing? Typically leakers that are believed have a track record of being right about leaks. Is this the case here?

  • I don't believe it anymore, it's over.

Fuck all this shit, I'm out.

  • Babe wake up another person saying Half-Life 3 is real Day 620394

  • HL3 is the One piece

  • I wish all the countries in the world would come together in friendship and agree to seven hour war silicon valley

  • There’s always next decade

  • everything everyone already knew. thanks for nothing "leaker"

  • It definitely exists! Why retcon the biggest cliffhanger in gaming history and maybe even entertainment history in general just to not follow up on it! It would make no sense.

  • Beliving in HL3 release is like beliving in Santa. I just love watching people die inside after they learned the hard truth.

  • I'll believe it when there is an actual announcement from valve at this point. Ive learned to not believe any of the leakers whos uncle who works at valve said it'll be tomorrow this time i swear.

  • There. Is. No. Half. Life. 3. Not now, not ever.

  • I call bs. The ram crisis was already at our doorsteps for us private consumers when valve announced its latest hardware. They definitely were already were aware of said crisis long before.

  • Fell for it again! 🙂‍↔️

  • None of this is new, is everyone in the sub this week high

  • HAHAAHAHAHAH. AGAIN!!!!😀 HAHAAHAHAHAH. AGAIN!!!!😀 HAHAAHAHAHAH. AGAIN!!!!😀 HAHAAHAHAHAH. AGAIN!!!!😀 HAHAAHAHAHAH. AGAIN!!!!😀 HAHAAHAHAHAH. AGAIN!!!!😀

  • I'm on withdrawal hopium symptoms

  • You might wanna re-read what you posted, it says "PC RAM prices are the problem right now", lets analyze this statement, "are the problem right now", now is now, but when does now end? When do RAM prices drop? Not now. I've read that RAM prices might not drop for years, some people are saying 2028 at the soonest. So based on what you have posted here as evidence or "hopium" its essentially stating that we could be waiting many more years for HL3.

  • Mark 13:32 "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the leakers which are on YouTube, neither the Game Awards, but Gaben."

  • Why would the price of the Steam Machine delay the announcement of Half-Life 3? What kind of mental gymnastics is that?

  • I have a lot riding on the reveal being before December 31st ending. If they fuck me on this I need to stop gambling forever.

  • Yet another rumor pulled out of yet another ass

  • Valve specifically said there would be NO launch titles for the Steam Machine.

What the fuck is up with this dummy?

  • Lmao keep coping

  • Wait for the 30th anniversary...

  • I WANT TO BELIEVE

  • Let go of the hopium, it's destroying you...

Also, here's an advice from someone who lost hope for something else: Expect Nothing. If you expect nothing, you cannot be disappointed, unless literally nothing at all happens (which is impossible unless rescheduling happens). If you expect nothing, you will be more pleased when something comes up, and greatly pleased when it's something you want.

  • I’m tired boss

    Dog tired :(

  • Valve has ALWAYS released new titles to innovate the gaming industry and show off their new tech every time they release new hardware or software.

Half Life was made to show the rest of the gaming industry how to create an amazing game with awesome storytelling without breaking immersion by using cutscenes, a template that is still used in games all over the world over nearly three decades later. Half Life 2 was to show off the Source engine and it’s revolutionary physics design. Portal was to expand on that physics design even more. Aperture Desk Job was to show off the Steam Deck. Dota 2 was to show the capabilities of the Source 2 engine. Half Life: Alyx was to show off the Valve Index and the remarkable stories you can craft in virtual reality.

Remember this. Valve sold the Steam Deck at a loss, because they knew they could just make back all their money by selling games on it. And it worked. But they’re already saying that they’re not going to do that with the Steam Machine or Steam Frame and that they’re going to price it closer to a PC than a console.  This is bold, considering how their last attempt at making a console completely flopped. The current RAM shortage makes this an even more strange decision, considering that it’ll force them to increase the price even more and that console players are pretty well known for focusing mainly on affordable prices when buying a new console. But they’re still going to price this as a PC, in spite of all those factors making it very possible for the products to flop.

What does that mean? It means that they are confident and fully believe that people will buy these products as quickly as they can when they come out, regardless of the price. Why? Because releasing arguably the most anticipated game of all time, a game people have been waiting for for over 18 years, as an exclusive for the Steam Machine and Steam Frame is guaranteed to astronomically boost sales.

We’ve already confirmed that HLX is a real project that has been worked on for years, ever since Half Life Alyx came out, just like the dataminers confirmed that HLVR was a real project being worked on, which turned out to be Half-Life Alyx. Half-Life: Alyx already confirmed that they are working on Half Life 3. Just like with Half Life Alyx, they’re likely going to release Half Life 3 to show off their products and try to innovate gaming even further.

The Steam Machine, new Steam controller and the Steam Frame is, in my opinion, the largest business expansion they’ve ever made in their history and, if they are what they promise to be, they would be the most revolutionary products they’ve released so far in their time as a company. Releasing Half-Life 3, one of the most fabled games in the history of gaming, as an exclusive for these products in order to show them off and make sure that these products sell is the most profitable business decision they could possibly make and I’d argue that it’s the most logical scenario with all the things we know.

They just need to figure out the price first. That is the biggest gamble of this whole release. Too much and the console won’t sell, too little and they won’t make a profit, especially with the RAM shortage. Even pricing it in the 700$ - 800$ range would be quite generous with the current market conditions and even that is too much for a lot of console players. That’s why they haven’t announced it yet. They’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. Maybe they could fix it by pricing Half Life 3 at an extremely high price, but only time will tell.

Don’t lose hope, guys. We still have more evidence for a potential release than we have ever had before. The leakers all said that they would not announce it at the Game Awards anyway. Nothing has changed. Valve is only bidding their time. Soon enough, in Spring, we may be able to play Half Life 3. We don’t know when it’s coming out, but we know it’s coming soon.
