Its claim to fame was that it was made by Garfield (the guy that came up with MTG) with Valve resources and had this super duper multi board strategy macro game nobody ever wanted or asked for in what is an extremely nieche genre.
The issue is that Garfield, like many others, is a one time wonder.
The second issue was placing that game in the Dota universe. Dota players (much like CS players) care about only one thing: Dota.
Third issue was the fact that they tried to levrage the steam market to emulate real-world card trading.
I like Deadlock a lot but it has the same problem other really competitive MP games do. Which is if you get out of practice/rhythm you will frequently get stomped by people who play more often than you do. Last one of those I played with any regularity was Overwatch, and that is stretching it a bit as I rarely played ranked.
Deadlock hasn't technically been published or announced. It has no monetization capability at all. The game won't let you leave a review, so I think its safe to say that the "release" of deadlock can't tell us much about what to expect if half life 3 ever gets made.

I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
