Yes you should start finasteride asap. Dht blockers are the only thing that will stop the hair loss. Minoxidil will only improve the quality of existing hair, not prevent them from eventually dying.

My good friend takes finasteride every other day. Minoxidil oral daily. Biotin daily, derma roller twice a week. Laser hat twice a week. Consistency being key here, and he has grown his full head of hair beyond recognition after a year and half of being zealously consistent. Personally i find oral minoxidil also much easier, it's a pill, no greasy topical formulation.
