Corners were never the best so I used minoxidil to fill them in. Later I decided to just use some on my scalp in the hopes it’d make my hair fuller despite not having any issues with the density. However using the liquid minoxidil gave me really bad dandruff and that lead to hair loss even after the first wave of hair loss that comes with the treatment and now I’m actually concerned with my scalp density. I’ve decided to just quit using it for a while and then maybe try to reintroduce it, been doing this since Friday and my scalp feels less itchy but I’m noticing a lot of flaking when I don’t use my nizoral shampoo (I use it every other day).

Does this sound like the right step for reversing my hair loss?

  • For me regular derma stamping ( twice weekly - light sessions ) ‘n mixing minoxidil with few finasteride tablets somehow seemed to have reduced this issue. I apply tretinoin from time to time as well.

now I only get these issues where I dont derma stamp / apply fin and min/ tretinoin

The dermastampping reduced your dandruff? Thought it’d be the opposite

Yes that happened during the first few months

But once I slowly increased it to twice / thrice a week (light sessions right before /after applying products) and start to be consistent, my dandruff probs went away!!

Well except for places that I don’t do derma or apply products

  • Based on reviews I've read, Estefavor's routine seems to help some folks manage the dryness caused by minoxidil. It might be worth exploring gentle scalp treatments alongside your current routine to keep flakes down. Have you tried adjusting the frequency or amount of minoxidil you use.

I did but it ended up just still being super dry so I’m gonna put a stop to it all together. I did ignore the instructions when starting and when straight to twice a day so that could be a reason, basically sucker punched my scalp and it couldn’t recover
