I agree, there’s definitely something not right about how warm it is January. The weather is fluctuating like crazy. I’m in central NC, just Saturday night it was 70 something, tmr morning will be in the 20-30’s. I’m really not sure what we’ll be looking at as time goes on.
You loathe sunny warm weather in the winter? So you rather be locked up inside your house for 3 months out of the year instead of enjoying the outdoors and having a normal life? I dont know about you but I love the fact that I can take my kids surfing, hiking and bike riding in January and not have to wait for certain times of the year to do so.
Surely there's a middle ground. For example, my ideal Winter weather would be anywhere between 30°F-50°F. Just cold enough for it to feel Wintry and seasonal, but warm enough that it's above freezing.
Even then, I'm not an outdoors person, though when the weather's cold, dark, and cloudy, I feel more inclined to spend more time outside. Why? It's a dramatic shift from the monotonous and incredibly mundane warm and sunny weather which only makes me feel unmotivated.
Plus you literally have 9 other months of the year to partake in outside recreational activities. Let the people enjoy the cold and seeing others bundled up. I rather cozy vibes than unseasonably warm weather.
Unusually warm most of the week, id rather it just be colder.I'm not actually fond of it warm then cold because of how much of a mess and ice it makes.
Years ago, I was working on a project in San Antonio (not HVAC then). We're from the PNW. They had a "cold snap" of like low of 45 and a high of 60. They were freezing their asses off. Everyone had gloves, hats, winter coats. My co-worker and I are out there working in tee shirts!
Homelessness exist everywhere, he does steal and waste money like there's no tomorrow... but WTF does that have to do with my post and this forum? Does it make you feel better to complain about a state you don't live in?
Your post has been removed due to the policitcal nature of the topic. We all come from different backgrounds and this is fine but when it comes to keeping the peace and focused on HVAC, this doesn't equal the same results.

You know there's a simple solution to that... Don't live here. Other than that why do you care about how California is ran, maybe just maybe you should concern yourself with the state you live in and get back on topic to the original post.

PDX, highs in the 50s. It's way too warm. Spent the weekend at the coast and it was damn near 60 today (way too warm for this time of year).

Ideal weather if it were Spring or even Summer. I detest sunny/warm weather in Winter, and you'd have to be sadistic to enjoy it.
It's akin to preferring cold, cloudy weather during Summer. Completely ruins the vibe and puts a damper on the entire season.
I feel the same way. Cold? Give me clouds, add rain if I'm not working.
But since I live in South Carolina, I actually love clouds in summer too. It gets so damn hot here in the sun, some shade can make all the difference.

Around like 40s in the morning
How can you freeze with temps above freezing
Forgot I live in an area where the weather is never extreme and have not experienced those climates

Doesnt care to argue but starts off with argumentative opinion on a weather post
