LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Deputies are investigating the shooting death of a man in Livingston Parish.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Tyree Lionel Worthy, 22, of Baton Rouge, was discovered with gunshot wounds on Longwood Drive in Denham Springs. Deputies found him in the roadway after being called to the area around 3 a.m. on Sunday, December 21.

Worthy was rushed to a hospital and died from his injuries.

Investigators said they continue to gather details about what happened. At this time, they have learned about an overnight gathering at a nearby home. They also do not believe the shooting was a random act.

Detectives are searching for a vehicle that they believe an unnamed male suspect used to leave the scene. They said the vehicle does not belong to the suspect and is a 2019 Chevrolet Impala with the Louisiana license plate number 658CUG.
