I think I did a pretty good job so far, my favorite detail is probably the crack underneath it's right eye. I cut out a lot of craters and shards in the armor with my nipper and highlighted them with some metallic black and silver. I think it looks awesome but I should've erased more of the brown wash, the white is now a bit too pink

Would love some tips on weathering and how to make it look even better

  • Improve what? This looks amazingĀ

  • Less is more. always easy to add. Much harder to subtract.

  • The trick to weathering is to start light. Don't go full hog right from the start because its extremely easy to overdo it and it'll be a bitch to correct.

The reason its easy to overdo it is because we typically work on parts separately and separately they look absolutely wonderful but as soon as we put the kit back together all of those tiny details that we thought were sick as hell end up making everything look too busy.

That's why we start light, stick everything together and if it looks like it could use more weathering, then we add more.

  • The one piece of advice I like to give for weathering comes from Adam Savage. Try to tell stories with it. Don't just blindly add stuff to the kit; make it look like something happened to cause that damage.
