i think its SO neat how the Turn A is so different to the core fundamentals because it was designed by an american, so it draws inspiration from design trends like art deco and retrofuturism, that sort of unapologetically geometric simplicity that was characteristic of a time period roughly around the 50's to 70's, art deco goes further back, but they kinda build on eachoter
extending to the inner frame, it exudes industrialization in its core look, balls as hinges for the elbows precisely tell me that this design would have worked if it was in something like The Jetsons
Turn A is neat to dissect, what an awesome mobile suit
Not just any American, but Syd Mead- one of the most influential neo-futurist artists of all time, and who pioneered those very trends in the 70s you’ve mentioned.
The movement of the rear leg blades on this kit always blow me away. I didn't even realize they were designed to move when I started the kit, but it's truely one of my favorite gimmicks. The movement is so organic, almost like breathing.
I mean, a freaking lot of that is just the paint job but it also just looks like a bunch of tubes, girders, and sheet metal that was cut and bent into basic shapes. That's pretty realistic, yeah. Simple, sturdy, no-nonsense: all the fancy, expensive stuff can go into the outer shell where it's easier to replace.
Ver ka almost feels like an oxymoron for turn A, I would be very interested to see what that would look like... If anything just because I'd love an updated turn A....RG Turn A would be cool too
The MG was designed by Katoki, so that's probably what you're thinking of, but that doesn't really make it a ver ka, he also worked on a lot of early HG kits but those aren't considered Ver Ka either
It’s supposed to be the ∀ Gundam, but it looks so different.
Probably because no mustache
How the hell did you do that?
The leg plate thingers in the back are the first unique giveaway that it is Turn A. The second is the shoulders. The third is the way that it is.
For real though, what a sweet gundam. It is by far my favorite Gunpla and most kit bashed kit.
No. I meant the upside A.
Google the symbol, copy and paste into autocorrect preference in settings, and then fill in what it corrects from
I don’t know why I didn’t consider that lol. I’ve done it before with accented letters. Thanks.
😂😂😂😂
I feel like they were asking about the upside down capital A in the comment above theirs.
For me it was the rocket tits.
The chest frame is a giveaway.
The eyes and head were also a bit of a giveaway.
The chest is a dead giveaway

I love the turn A so much. Ive bought several. I couldn't help but think of what a turn A style zaku would look like, so I made one lol. Turn A Zaku
A.... Borjarnon!?!
Nice work, btw!
This needs more up votes
That is very cool. Thank you for posting it here.
Looks like a robot from the 50s or 60s
Yes, just what I was thinking

If you made the accessory for the MG Cow look this good I can’t wait to see how the Cow itself looks.
Side question is there a Perfect or Real Grade Turn ∀?
No, the only modern ones are the high grade and master grade.
I'm still psyching myself up for the cow but thank you for the vote of confidence!
Re: real grade.... One can dream, right?
A perfect grade Turn A would be so cool. Doesn’t need to be PGU, I feel like it’s a great candidate for a regular PG.
There aren't, and a real grade would be kind of weird because the whole point of the design is the Neo futurism and lack of realism.

Looks like this without the armor
I wish we had an MG Flat...or Kapool
I'd kill for an MG Kapool.

Totally, it's very simplicity is what makes it believable... Though maybe at a smaller scale
Which Turn A kit is this?
The MG from a bazillion years ago
2007 wasn’t that long ago, what are you- what the fuck do you mean this kit is 18 years old
I know man... I know 😂
Ver ka or original?
Ver ka almost feels like an oxymoron for turn A, I would be very interested to see what that would look like... If anything just because I'd love an updated turn A....RG Turn A would be cool too
There isnt a Turn A Ver Ka, so this is the Master Grade of Turn A.
Does it not? I could’ve sworn it did…
The MG was designed by Katoki, so that's probably what you're thinking of, but that doesn't really make it a ver ka, he also worked on a lot of early HG kits but those aren't considered Ver Ka either
Yeah, while he worked on it he stayed very true to Syd Mead's original design
MG Turn A.... I was so impressed when I was putting this together because of the inner frame. Especially the legs.
Wait a minute. If I take all the weight and blue off of my turn A it will look like this?
this looks like a droid from star wars or something.
Didn't know Turn A Gundam was Bob the builder.
😂 I see that now
He looks like he's about to warn Will Robinson about some kinda danger. Either that or watch a crappy movie and make fun of it.
this bad boy looks like a robot you look back on and say "they don't build em like they use to"
It looks the most pragmatic of huminoid robots
It feels like like it would be in a 50s sci-fi film and animated with stop motion
Reminds me of the digimon andromon
Iron Giant
It's a very retro futuristic design! The head especially looks like it's just a head, without any sort of covering intended on it
Actually.. it does. Almost makes it believable as a Teslabot.
Its the cylinders I think
Looks like a buff whatever happened to robot Jones haha
It looks very construction robot to me
it has such a kind face like this
They don't call it the real robo genre for nothin'
