I remember having a crush on Feldt back in 2007 her being easily the most appealing girl in 00 back then because... well, I guess plenty of obvious reasons. Almost twenty years later I can still very much appreciate her but being a decent deal too young (okay, I checked just now and she's 14(!) at the start of the series. Damn you Gundam and literally putting children on the front lines) and sadly not being treated too well by way narrative significance? Don't get me wrong, she has her moments and she serves her role well but that role is definitely on the small side. I don't dislike her feelings for Setsuna but I also can't claim I care a lot.
I'm not sure how I would have felt about her becoming a pilot... it's an interesting what if scenario but I don't think she had the determination to kill again and again, and she's not Jesus able to avoid it.
Anyway, I love how popular she is and a few votes aside she got a lot of 10s and 9s, landing her at a very deserved

After reading random stuff on this sub about Graham before watching the series, I was honestly expecting worse
He really is a fun character but there is a lot of wasted potential towards the end of the series. I would deep dive into the extended material just for his sake but haven't done so yet.

Well, he was not the big bad. Him showing up at the end of S1 to wreck Exia was a fun addition but served only to emphasize his character.
But in S2 he was just a stepping stone to Ribbons, the dedicated warrior Setsuna had to beat ideologically that fighting for the sake of it (or honor or whatever) is pointless, but needs to have a proper purpose. And I guess it would have been cool for him to do something after changing his mind but we had to wait for the movie for him to get another chance to shine.

Also a really interesting contrast to Murrue, who did manage to get over her lost lover and become the Captain that everyone needed as well as move forwards with a new love, whereas Sumeragi never really became quite the Captain everyone needed, but still became something like the big sister everyone needed. Also an interesting contrast to Misato from Evangelion, who only got drunk after hours even though she was just as stressed, and even resorted to casual sex with Kaji on occasion to help cope.
I'm greatly curious as to her post-ELS war fate; she clearly became famous enough to have a new ship class named after her, but it's never mentioned if she's still around by the time Graham joined CB as Exia's replacement pilot or if Laeticia acted as the mission handler given his direct connection to VEDA.
Aw, I think that's too harsh on her. I mean, I don't want to call the Sumeragi Vs Murrue debate here, but saying she's not a capable captain at the end of the series or the movie... I would strongly disagree, even if she shares command with Setsuna.
Also, yeah, I love Graham but it's crazy he got closure but not her in the audio drama.
I'm not saying she was incompetent, it's just that she more or less started sharing command with Setsuna, which diminished her authority a bit more, and she never had a large crew that needed a dedicated captain in the first place. The bridge just had Lasse, Mileena, and Feldt. The maintenance was mostly handled by Ian and Linda, plus the Haro bots.
In contrast, Kira continued to still take some orders from Murrue and Lacus despite technically outranking them, only really using his rank as a means of operating independently when needed. As well, Murrue never did get closer with her crew in the sense of becoming like family, but maintained a close friendship, as evidenced when they all got back together at the start of Destiny.

Strong leader with a dark past that she is initially trying to escape. Brings a lot of value as a ship captain and tactical forecaster. Also a decent mentor and recognizes the need for team to work together.

I said she was flawed! But I just rewatched the episode a couple of days ago. It was pure kino.
Billy tries to get her to stop being a drunk and she immediately tries to leave, thanking him for the past few (I think only 2?) years. Then Setsuna shows up and Billy just lets him in, thinking heās a friend of hers. Heās so excited, until Setsuna drops the Celestial Being bomb in the most Setsuna way possible. And Billy goes from smiles to horror. At that point, she kinda didnāt have a choice.
The entire scene was amazing from start to finish. Poor Billy.
I was more referring to the "do what she thinks is right"...
Oh, I somehow thought it was the whole timeskip, my bad.
But yeah, that scene is... It's pure cinema but Setsuna clearly doesn't know what secrecy means (even five years after casually telling Marina who he is) and she also doesn't at any point feel remotely like explaining anything to Billy until he literally shoots at her. And I totally get that's not an easy conversation to have but he still very much deserved some explanation. Not that it justifies his actions but imagine how effed the ALaws would have been if Billy joined CB at that point.
Thatās fair, but it does loop back to flaws. She is with CB to make the world a better place and all that, but she still has more than her fair share of mistakes and bad decisions because of her emotional baggage. Donāt get me wrong, she is definitely NOT someone I would want to be in a relationship with for most of the shows run. Girl is a hot mess on a personal level for a long time. And she definitely used Billy a lot.
The time together was a minor thing. I would have thought it was the whole time too if I wasnāt binging the show again. It doesnāt really matter whether itās 2 years or 5.
The fact that they sent Setsuna to do the recruiting will never not be funny to me. Because as we all know, Setsuna F Seiei is the height of subtlety and persuasion. Those are his most famous traits! But I guess we canāt argue with the results.
She definitely should have explained things to Billy. But also, itās hard to have the āwhy Iām Celestial Being and why thatās okayā conversation right after it dropped. Billy especially has a lot of baggage with the group after they killed Eifman and Graham becameā¦Grahamer after the whole thing.
I really like that Billy and Sumeragi did not end up together. Billy deserved better and there was too much poison in that pot for a real relationship to work out in the end.
Again, great character, she tries to do what she thinks is right, but she does stumble lot, probably from what too many drinks.
Oh, I really don't want to argue too much. I guess my gripe is with her total collapse after S1 when, yeah, some people died but from an objective point it's pretty much impossible to blame her for it. And I totally understand she sees it differently but I would have almost preferred it if they had her make some error that contributed to the loss of CB. As things are, she just ran away and hid and left the others alone for really no justified reason. And I mean... The Trinitys killed Eifman, it's not like Billy wouldn't have understood that part of she told him. But I guess she didn't want to involve him in such a dangerous situation? Or give away important information, I don't know. It just feels a bit like the tension between the two is worse than it has to be for the sake of drama.
I completely get your point of view. For the Billy angle, I think itās hard to drop the terrorism bomb and then try to explain āyouāre one of the good ones.ā Especially with the way it was revealed. And she has a tendency to run away from personal conflict.
She tried to avoid the conflict by running away rather than confronting it. So the conflict found her later. Iāve seen it happen a lot.
No, I get it, but I have a bit of a hard time believing billy wouldn't get that the Thrones and CB are not the same entity and would have shown no understanding. She had years to come up with a way to tell him and her not managing to... I don't want to say I don't understand it but it still seems more drama than realism to me. But I get she still probably also blames herself for that, too.

The MG Kyrios was my first ever MG and was absolutely blown away by the build. 00 has some good ones for sure.
I also really liked the RG Exia build. It doesn't get the most love but I enjoyed it quite a lot

So about a year ago my 1st kyiros was missing parts very important ones, it was due to me getting too drunk while building it and well I stopped for awhile until yesterday I decided to get back into it, then as I was building it started thinking about the anime and now I'm rewatching 00 for the 4th/5th time and why did I jump right into season 2 because I find it more fun to watch and seeing Kati and Sumeragi acknowledge each other and start making 4D chess moves is fun to watch also I just like the core characters as young adults more especially saji's character growth in the 2nd season is just great and then seeing Sumeragi deal/battle with her past and coming to grips with it and the ptolymy 2 is just objectively a better ship

10/10. Honestly I think she along with Tieria and Setsuna had the best and most consistent development. In season 1 we saw her consistently as a good and incredibly tactical leader who had this sense of mystery.
Season 2 took a real interesting approach by revealing how much of a mess she is and that without a grander goal to immerse herself in she just falls apart. Something which for a war veteran thay lost as much as hers is painfully realistic. Also I do think her strategic skills was at its peak throughout season 2.
In the movie she may not have played the biggest role but I like how it continued her development from season 2 and kept her going strong despite the overwhelming odds. Overall she was a consistently excellent character that had awesome tactical moments, well written emotional depths, and just solid a relationship with the rest of the cast.
Also she is bad as hell.

Easily a top character in the franchise. She's both well written and attractive. I wish more female Gundam characters were handled as well as her and the 00 cast in general.
I think one of the reasons 00 is so good is that screen time to brain washed characters is pretty minimal and not as overdramatic as past shows.

Yun Kouga, I kneel to you for making her crazy gorgeous. The only other one that can portray her beauty ... would be Tite Kubo of Bleach fame (or his imitator, rakusakugk).
I don't think she ever actively meant to hurt or manipulate Billy, she just couldn't say no to what he offered her.
