Hi there, I’m in the process of obtaining my eu passport and greek citizenship from my parents, I’m wondering if anyone in canada has done the same and how long it took, and if you recommend a lawyer, or have any suggestions on one. Thank you!
Good luck. You'll need it. At least three times during the process you'll either want to kill yourself or the Greek embassy employee you're dealing with. Plan on 1-2 years.
4 years for me... but it wasn't a constant process. I actually aged out of the mandatory military service - although most foreign born Greeks get an exemption anyway
I live close to the Toronto one too, did you go in person at any point to get things sped up? I emailed in all the docs and they approved, and now it’s just a waiting game

It’s already been a year or two . I’m fine with a 1-2 year wait

I'm Canadian, and no lawyer - didn't even consider it I also lived very close to the consulate in Toronto.
