My modmail is clogged up with folks whining about being banned, while slinging more psychological abuse, so let's do this with a post? I see lots of emo "why did this happen to meeeee", when every ban gets a permalink to the comment, that caused the rule infraction and ban. I want more moderators in here, for more coverage during more hours of the day, and more days of the week -- less opportunities for abuse.

  • I would be interested in coming back as a mod. I was a mod here for 3-4 years, and was removed by the previous head mod for demanding he not make transphobic posts in his official capacity, since there were trans users of this forum and I didn't want them to feel marginalized in what is supposed to be a welcoming space. I'm not sure what automod looks like currently, but most of the word filters put in place were from me. I also oversaw the mass purges that took place after /r/PKA brigaded this sub for a week straight. I guess I still have the mod tag too for some reason.

    I can probably commit 5 hours per week at most, any more than that and I'll start getting burned out. Hoping /u/triscuitzop will reconsider being a mod in at least a limited capacity. He's pretty level-headed, even though he's not a TI. (Thank you for the recommendation in /r/TEW)

    When I see removed comments, it makes me wish I was a mod to see what they were. But I'd still prefer just hanging around in a smaller capacity now. Still, do ask me any questions or whatever, private if necessary.

    Well, u/rrab, the top mod, hasn't posted anything for 5 days so not sure what is going on with them. It does look like I might be able to add mods, but I don't have permission to change automod so I doubt I could give that to you if that is what you want to work on. Anyway, this isn't meant as an endorsement just wanted to give you a heads up.

    I'm not interested in messing with whatever the automod is before I run it by everyone. It's just handy tool for easily picking out the most obnoxious trolls. I just don't want this place to be overrun by bad actors because god knows there's enough people out there who see us as a source of entertainment to toy with.

    Yes, I deal with the abuse constantly. Removing said abuse would make the sub more pleasant to share info or experiences

Moderating the Reddit gangstalking subReddit would both start me on a path of responding to abuse from widespread attackers and involve myself more deeply in a community who understands what I can’t find understanding from anywhere else, especially as a somewhat introverted, neurodiverse person who’s being incentivized away from what was already a difficult need for me.

    • ⁠Do you enjoy laughing at trolls, and then banning them, as you doom scroll? - I don’t consider how I scroll through negative news or comments as doom scrolling as I use it as one means of understanding the problems in the world and for coming up with solutions I can take steps toward, as well as getting a further sense of what a particular aspect of our world is thinking, even if they are neither a selective sampling nor have a proportional say for their percentage of the population. It lets me know where the perspective that people think is happening skews. Correcting problems in what is getting through is an important responsibility I would like to take up in this community.

    You're saying "V2K" and directed energy weapons aren't real in your comments. Those are undeniably real technologies, and sometimes, they're used on civilians, who then blame themselves as losing their mind. Then comments here pile on in agreement, yup yup that's right, that means you're just crazy now.. and it doesn't mean that.

    While I like your other advice on organized stalking, denying "V2K" and directed energy weapons, isn't a good fit for moderator duty here. I can't have any moderator calling bullshit on these technologies:
