Side note: I am still genuinely glad that Monster Legends isn’t dragged into the culture war by right wing grifting youtubers or social media users because really, this game having LGBTQ+ stuff, or wokeness or whatever they might say is not the real problem of this game.

Like seriously, my long experience of playing in there pretty much made me used to this sort of diversity in games. For example, you can actually select any monster that you desire, either male/female/non-binary/eldritch nightmare or whatever to breed with another monster which can also be selected from any gender that you want. So technically the same-sex relationship thing already is in this game long before Socialpoint decided to get (and I find it actually cool) more crafty with the diversity. There is now also special story chapters with yuri unironically, and even explicit LGBTQ+ characters which I honestly would say aren’t a problem for me. Still I do wish we have more male to male relationships because it feels kinda lacking.

Another thing grifters could say is ML going ‘radical feminism’ when I would say that literally many male characters still to this day are influential in power and embarrassingly have more body diversity than female monsters still. Heck, I would say that we get to see a decent amount of flawed female characters too and even full on evil female monsters causing full on trouble in the era sagas.

Lastly, I do honestly think that ML being woke is actually a strength since it actually makes the story more compelling. The first era which was Corrupted Era was how everyone in the side of good had to band together in order to stop full on evil corruption but due to the unwillingness to help the Swamp - a troubled and already underprotected place, it ends up causing Lord Nebotus (main antagonist) to appear and cause a crap ton of problems that starts other era sagas too. Social injustice is literally many of the villains’ ways to thrive and preventing this would weaken their influence to stop them finally. So yeah, all games are woke and this isn’t any different at all.

it's tough to have the discussions because some people who do eventually find places for discussion like this just do not know about these smaller studios.

There are tons of exploitative gacha or games with predatory mtx all across the app store best selling but most people only look at the biggest earners as predatory as opposed to the whole stack.
