Hi everyone, I bought my first gaming pc/laptop back in August, it is an hp victus with a 2050, it's not too expensive I bought it to play games like Minecraft r6 or roblox, anyway from the first moment I bought it, I noticed that its battery goes down in less than an hour and when it is not charging its very laggy even in apps like discord, but this happens only when I keep it connected to my monitor tho that's 144 hz, so I guessed it was normal, but when it is not connected to the monitor and im using it in 60 hz, the battery can last max 2 hours when I use it to do normal stuff like watch netflix, youtube or twitch, is it normal for a gaming laptop or should I contact support?
Gaming laptops are notorious battery hogs, especially with a dedicated GPU - 1-2 hours sounds about right for that setup. The lag when unplugged is probably your laptop switching to integrated graphics and power saving mode which throttles performance hard
Ok thanks so it's normal
As said, pretty normal. Use it for gaming with the powerblock connected to the wall.
