I don't know why they are two, but i have learned a while ago that you can't get the same ammount of air on both of them, one of them always feel slightly stuffy, in fact they change roles, and that a smell is not the same if you smell it on each individual smell. They are tuned different which is interesting, so maybe smelling really is the reason that there are two of them.
