Nestlé has initiated a large-scale recall of several batches of its infant formula brands — including SMA, BEBA, and NAN — due to possible contamination with cereulide, a toxin linked to severe foodborne illness. The recall spans across Europe, Turkey, and Argentina, marking one of the company’s most extensive product recalls to date.Food
According to Nestlé, the precautionary recall followed the detection of a quality issue in an ingredient sourced from a leading supplier. The company has since carried out extensive testing of all arachidonic acid oil and related oil mixes used in potentially affected products. No illnesses have been reported so far.
The toxin cereulide, produced by certain strains of Bacillus cereus, is known for causing vomiting, nausea, and stomach cramps, sometimes within hours of consumption. Britain’s Food Standards Agency warned that the toxin cannot be destroyed by boiling water or cooking, making consumption risky for infants if contaminated batches are used.

Nestlé is doing what it does best again.
Harm babies
Do you really think they did this on purpose?
You don't kill a million babies , make a massive profit and stop. You keep going . Fuck Nestle . A recall at this scale is gross negligence . The intent doesn't matter , only the effect.
Wtf they did the recall due to the possibility that some of the products are maybe affected and the amount of the toxin that was found isn’t even harmful.
Recalls don't happen without a significant risk to the public. Do not trust what they say , trust what they do ! This has cost them millions of pounds, there is a serious risk !

This has happened before and been fatal !
Tbh I think they did the recall because if they would have tried to hide it and somehow would have been exposed, the costs and long term damage would be much worse…
Yes because they would lose money and if they could get away with it they would. Stop dick riding Nestle weirdo
Ghost hunter is a new account. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a new account dick riding Nestle in the comments. I’m convinced that these are paid bot accounts to try and pivot the awful public image of nestle. Fuck nestle, and fuck ghost hunter. Get a real job instead of supporting a company that kills babies for profit.
You mean because the lawsuits would be costlier.
Nestle are responsible for baby deaths and directly cause them and know about it. They continue because it is profitable. Don’t try to pretend they care about anything but the $$$
yes
I think you've got the wrong subreddit, bud. Pls revisit when you are more able and willing to believe that the people running the Nestlé corporation does not, in fact, have good or even neutral intentions in their operations.
Nestle at its best. Stealing water and harming children. My child needed an amino acid formula and there's was one of the cheapest and easiest to get. But we went with a more expensive brand our pharmacy had to order for us because Nestle isn't worth the risk. FUCK Nestle.
To be honest? I’m shocked that they’re doing this. They must have tried and failed to cover it up.
No, they have a responsibility to protect their customers and nestle did the right thing. I don’t think that there even is any possibility to hide that.
...it's kind of odd how much you're commenting here and how little you seem to know of Nestle's history considering the subreddit you're in
Bot account. See my comment above
They also have a responsibility to not exploit child slave labour, or spout propaganda to make third world mothers believe Nestle products are more nutritious than their own breast milk, but… This company is not known for doing the right thing. Hence my surprise.
Hi Nestle shill! We see you poppet!
They had been quietly pulling these from shelves for about a week before announcing the recall, so parents still fed their babies these for at least whole week after Nestlé knew about the risk.
(source: multiple commenters in multiple threads about this testify that they suspiciously had a really hard time finding these products the week before they officially got recalled and being outraged at this)
Least talked about recall!
Does anyone have the full list of products that were recalled?
Oh Nestle, 'protecting' kids again are we?
Disgusting.
